- The last few days have been a few close but not quite there moments with Biden's departure from Fort McNair (missed), Trump's arrival at the Washington Hilton (missed) and the VP going to a street market (saw that). Anyway, just a few random moments from this weekend.

Does your phone work around the Vice President? I would think they would be jamming all cell phones around a VIP.
I filmed it on my cell phone (didn't have my camera). It worked fine. When the motorcades are running sometimes there is a vehicle that can jam mobile phones but it wasn't in the motorcade this day.

The Secret Service does a security sweep ahead of a presidential visit. But not for the VP?
They would have done one before she arrived with several more Secret Service agents in plain clothes. But yes, less of a security detail then if President Biden tried to do that.
Less security for an unannounced visit. If you just show up somewhere less a security risk than saying the vp or president will be at this place abd time.
There was very much a sweep prior to the VP showing up. And although the visit was “off the books” there is always some security in place just prior to VPOTUS is on the scene. Maybe the manholes were not welded shut but I am certain there were RF jammers around. 😉JustSaying who knows.

Andrews, the very important thing in your videographic round out there today is that you didn't miss the landing of the great airplane Trump One. You took about 10 photographs, at $100.00 per shot you made $1,000.00 en 10 seconds. This is what i call a good job!

The VP at the market doesn't add up.
Why would they let her roam around the market?
Why didn't they do a security sweep of the area?
Why would she have a "football"?
Why is the military dude carrying the "football" out of uniform?

So many questions.
The VP goes to markets and restaurants and other places in town. It's pretty regular to see. The second gentlemen is at the Starbucks near my house pretty regularly. They were only there about 15-20 minutes. I don't think they did a sweep but there were dozens of agents around her and a CAT team (counter assault team/SWAT) in the motorcade. The VP always has a football--there are 3 (POTUS, VP, and a spare). The military and Secret Service were dressed to blend in. A guy in dress blues marching around a street market would stand out and draw even more attention. The military aide has a radio to talk with Secret Service if needed.
Yet they close down streets to have her motorcade pass. The two don't add up.

Bet there were a fair amount of single-finger salutes at Gravelly Point as the death star passed overhead.

Another photographer and I covered the entrance to the Washington Hilton where the police had closed the road and where he entered the last time he spoke at the hotel. There was also a crowd of Trump supporters waiting to see him. But after a few moments of the road closed and us hearing sirens, we looked down the street to see him entering through a loading dock behind the hotel. Didn't get to see much of anything.
