Not really. Almost the entire plot of Retribution was lifted directly from the novel Resident Evil: Underworld that came out over 20 years ago. The facility was in Nevada in the book and had way more interesting monsters. The facility from Extinction was also taken from that book.

This movie was absolutely my favorite out of all of them. I was like 10 or 11 when I went to go see it with my parents and it was at a movie tavern. I was just sittin there eating my chicken fingers like: 😱 I got into zombies pretty young but I was terrified of Chucky for the longest time 😅 now I can’t get enough 😏

I saw this at the cinema when it came out. If I'm perfectly honest, this is the best 3D movie I've seen in my entire life. They made use of the gimmick in really clever ways that you can't appreciate when you watch it like this. This film has a lot of rain and flow of water going on. They layered all that water in different planes and they made it seem like each layer was at a different depth. It really was mind blowing to behold. It also made this movie very challenging to film for the director. I believe this is one of the only movies that is actually worth it to watch it in 3D.
I never realized how many slo-mo shots there were in this movie 😂. But im glad y'all are continuing with this franchie cause the movies just get crazier!

the fightscene in the bathroom of Alice and Claire with the big dude is forever iconic in my head, when i first watched it, i was in awe, it was so cool. And yes, i also hated the makeup/hair do in all of the apocalyptic movies, i mean seriously, who has the time for that? but so many, MANY of idiots out there who complained constantly about how female actresses/characters in these movies (also games like the last of us, horizon zero dawn) should at least put on makeup to look "pretty" or wear sexy/hot outfits in these desperate times. That's literally so f*cking stupid, it's frustrating.
You should watch the other resident evil movies like the vendetta one or the degeneration one, because in my opinion those are really good. They also have characters such as Claire, Leon, Ada or Chris.
I saw this in theaters in 3D and it was amazing! Watching Alice shooting quarters in 3D was so cool. With that said, the story isn't as good as the previous ones. You pretty much have to turn your brain off for the remaining movies and simply watch them for the action and not for the plot. 🍿

This movie is completely bonkers. Loved it when it came out but changed my mind a little bit since then. I agree there is way too much CGI, also they are just wasting characters at this point and even the remaining ones don't even seem to care that everyone is dying around them. This is the last movie within the franchise I can still just watch and enjoy though because some of the action is really good and the soundtrack is actually fire! The slow-mo and 3D effects are just silly though. The story is super basic and they are pretty much just taking small elements from the games and squeeze them into the movies without any context. It's still fun but dumb fun. I do not like the last 2 at all but I'm still excited for your reaction. :-)
