    • @davidjudd221
      @davidjudd221 4 года назад +15

      Robert Jaworski, Marino's arm wasn't quite as strong as Favre.
      But one thing is for sure, I'm 61, and have been watching the NFL since I was 9 yrs old. And I've never seen a Q.B. with Marino's accuracy. I remember watching a late 80's off season contest among NFL Q.B's. Steve Deburg had it all but won. Marino and Deburg were the top two that day. Marino had to make his last throws be perfectly on target to win. These were targets moving laterally across the field at least 30 yards plus away. Marino drilled his last three throws dead center perfect to win that contest. Being a die-hard Chiefs fan, I was pulling for Deburg, but was Glad for Marino.

      Trump_Fedaykin : He’s essentially Russell Wilson with size. 🤷🏽‍♂️ We will see if he has Russell Wilson’s mental capacity. We know he has the intelligence & high football IQ. But there’s something almost zen-like about Wilson that I’ve never seen in an athlete. If Mahomes that, there’s no way he won’t be recognized as the new GOAT by 2032 or so.

Bolstered his achievements in spite of being undervalued by every scout. A lengthy career in a league that destroys young players every year, and even won another Superbowl this last year at an age of 41. Numerous records held. Leader of the Player's Association.

      I’m not looking at stats or situations only ability, it’s very different to read & have 2 minutes to throw to a RB vs 1 second to wait for a WR to open up down the field, Favre could buy that time with his legs & had the arm to get it there ...as well as the durability to take any punishment.
      If you have a good line & established team *everyone* looks great, but if you have a terrible line, poor targets and weak running game Favre and a couple others are the *only* guys who can do much. No knock to Brady but even in his own department of in game IQ every player hails Manning the smartest, and clutch also depends on your team, you have to be losing too. And is an unquantifiable measure that relies on situation vs ability.

      Sadly professional athletics today are all about money, fame and optics. The NBA in particular has become more of a fashion show than a sports league and the NFL isn’t far behind. I’m encouraged though when attention seekers like Antonio Brown and Odell Beckham are made into laughing stocks. In today’s era the questions asked are who can be the biggest celebrity? Who can get the most followers? Who can take the best pictures? Notice though that the people that win and are excelling the most in the team aspect and game aspect (Brady, Belichick, Mahomes and Kawhi Leonard) are still focused on the GAME portion rather than all the extracurriculars. Professional sports aren’t what they were even ten years ago, but if you can find even one Brett Favre every few years you can save an entire league.
