    • @kentgrady9226
      @kentgrady9226 4 года назад +1

      @Bill Blass
      Those were my words. Like I said earlier today, I was paraphrasing a sentiment he implied... That Mahomes is physically capable of doing things that young QBs are typically instructed specifically *not* to do - throw off platform, throw against his body, throw back to middle of the field against 2 deep safeties, etc.
      Mahomes gets away with a lot of things others cannot because of his freakish vision and ungodly talent. Manning acknowledged that in the video. I was just making a joke. Not intended to be taken too seriously.
      Again, I shouldn't have used quotation marks. My apologies.

    This may bug some people, but I think Peyton could be another John Madden. The only people that laugh at that statement outright are the ones who only know the caricature of Madden, and not his actual football acumen. Peyton has the same combination of affability and knowledge of the game that Madden did. Probably moreso. Peyton is an entertaining character. We've all seen his commercials, dude is funny. You can see it here as well, with his explanation of the "squirrel" route. He's making you laugh, but also teaching you something. His analysis is obviously STELLAR> I mean, it's Peyton Manning. We KNOW that he knows what he's watching. But he also seems to know how to explain it. He needs to be the face of the NFL's coverage.

      @@timquick7663 At first Brady was just a game manager who rode his defense to the Super Bowl and that's all he really was up until Moss. With Brady nowadays it's become the defenses allowing him to do what he wants.
      The Patriot offense is built on dink and dunk, any throw over 15 yards is a rarity and when Brady does go long he's not actually that accurate. If you run a defensive scheme that takes away the short stuff and doesn't worry about the guy going long you'll hold them back pretty well.
      The Jaguars did that for three and a half quarters in last year's AFC championship game and they were destroying that offense. Then in the final few minutes they developed a fear of the deep ball and started playing soft coverage. The Patriots then proceeded to dink and dunk their way to victory as soft coverage leaves that completely open.
      The Patriots don't score at the end of the first half or the end of the game because of scheme or player quality. They score because teams are used to going into soft coverage, or get scared into it by the Patriot reputation, and end up allowing Tom Brady to do exactly what he was going to do anyway.
      I put Brady behind a good number of player's for best qb of all time because of that, but there's no denying that he's the greatest dink and dunk qb of all time.

    Personally, I don not bother with the greatest of all time argument, as far I am concerned, there is no individual greatest of all time, simply a short list of the greatest QB's to ever play the game. Rule changes, improvements in medical science, the way the game is played, the variables in the quality of coaches and surrounding talent make it impossible to reach a definitive conclusion. Peyton is certainly on that short list though and I find his analysis every bit as brilliant as his playing was. This is a great insight into a small aspect of how the QB position is played.

      If not for BB Peyton is the GOAT. Playing in a dome and the warm weather cities hurt him come playoff time. Brady I consider the best cold/bad weather QB and now of course the GOAT #6Rings

      @@donsremodeling There are many ways you could define what makes someone the greatest, but all are fallible and all are subjective. Brady has 6 championships, which actually still leaves him one behind Otto Graham.

      @@calibrazxr750 This is true. I only look at the SB era. I've watched Bradshaw, Montana, Elway, Marino, Staubach all play their entire careers. Brady is non athletic, really, but his above shoulder knowledge is unrivaled. His competitiveness rivals MJ's. I never thought I'd see any player go to 9 SB's let alone win 6. It's all opinion like you mentioned but his stats along with his hardware are backing up any debate. His 30-10 playoff record is absurd! He has more playoff wins than Manning does appearances 27. He has twice as many playoff wins as any QB not named Montana and will double him up next post season. The numbers are truly mind boggling. Let us not forget he is winning SB's and MVP's in his 40's.

      @@donsremodeling But is it him, the coach, the players around him, the system? Don't forget, Matt Cassel led the team to an 11-5 record the year Brady was injured. The year Manning was injured his team went 1-15 without him. Brady has had the same coach his whole career, Manning played for multiple coaches and multiple teams. I regard Superbowls as a team achievement, players have personal stats, but even those are judicated on the talent they had around them at the time. Personally, I regard Marino as the best ever and had he played for the 49ers there is a possibility he wins 6 championships. But he stayed in Miami, carrying the team year in and year out. It is only my opinion which is meaningless to anyone but me.

    Peyton you are my favorite football player of all time. From the day you hit the spotlight you have been sincere honest and as straight forward as a person can be! Also you don’t take yourself too seriously. Love and respect from a Browns fan!
