Javi’s death was so hard to watch because you could tell in Nat’s eyes that she wanted to help him so badly. And to see how hunger has effected the girl’s minds so much is scary. I agree though about the howling. I felt like that came a little too soon and felt cringe and out of place.

I understand why Nat is suicidal now. It’s one thing to have survivor’s guilt if you did everything you could and someone died, it’s another if you killed him. And this is her soulmate’s brother who she’s already lied about being dead. No relationship no matter how strong the affection could survive that.

i think a reason a lot of people are disappointed with this episode is because their decision to commit to this act (i.e. the cards and the hunt) seemed so sudden and almost anticlimactic.
it was maybe the editing but it felt very choppy.
we were presented the scene of misty relaying to the others what lottie said about not letting her body go to waste if she dies…..and then tai saying they need to figure out a way to survive without lottie (as if lottie is essential to their survival (unlike nat who’s a hunter) outside of giving them hope/resolve)
cut to…the card drawing scene???? i feel like we were owed at least a discussion of sorts? maybe there was a scene that was cut? it just felt jarring.
in hindsight if you look at the state of their sanity in the beginning of the episode, hell even the beginning of this season, it’s understandable why they are resorting to such lengths so early.
i don’t think this was a bad episode by any means at all. i think this is one of my more favorite eps of the season, especially in terms of momentum.

Anyone else just absolutely baffled at the idea of the poison cup roulette in the present day? Like what is killing off one of them now going to for the group? Lmao Lottie was like “NAT you almost killed yourself” and then just casually prepares a suicide ritual for the group.
Also, didn’t love how after Nat picks the queen card the entire group just so quickly turns on her. Wish they would have built that up a little more and I wish there was more dialogue when it comes to the cannibalism aspect of the show. It’s such a savage thing to do and it just seems like everyone is just low key cool with it and no one ever really brings it up. Like it’s just mutually agreed upon without anyone ever really saying anything.
Young Shauna’s morals seemed to have taken a complete 180 turn as well. All season she has been so against Lottie and her little “wilderness cult” but now I guess she’s all for it

Someone shared an interesting theory on the TV Time app:
That the symbol which has become synonymous with the show, could actually be hiding a hidden meaning right under our noses. Seeing it on the tree by the entrance to the cave inside, it could also perhaps be a map over the mines underground. And the dripping sounds that Mari keeps hearing could be coming from down there as well, or yeah, that could also just be a hallucination like Akilah's mouse being alive, and there might not me any hidden passageways underground, and the tree might just be hollow without more mines - but I'm curious as to where the heat is coming from then

Hell, If I had cancer and someone was offering me a dose of phenobarbitol I'd snatch all those glasses and quaf every last one. As for the wolf behavior when hunting Nat, I think behaving like an animal and divorcing yourself from your humanity would be the only way to commit such an act. In fact the only one who did not behave like an animal was Misty, she remained perfectly rational. I think this is because she's the real culprit behind everything. I'm so glad so many youtubers including you are realizing how sick Shauna is. She has been a toxic and deeply disturbed person since the first episode. Glad Lynsky is such a phenomenal actress as she makes me want Shauna to survive or stay out of jail. But her character is one of the most despicable.
Example - last episode 7 she lied and told Misty that Adam attacked her - which is a lie.
I think there have to be SERIOUS consequences for Shauna and I suspect she is going to lose Callie. Her breakdown to Lottie was very one-sided. She essentially told Lottie that she doesn't feel anything for her daughter in episode 7. Lottie had a very strange look.
Then in the circle in episode 7 - Shauna says she may be repressing things - so she may have repressed that she almost killed Lottie.
Not sure if Lottie has forgetten.
Then the call at the end of Season 7 with Shauna aksing if Callie was okay.
So I think Callie is the sacrifice and I think Lottie will be the one to kill her.
Perhaps Jeff and Callie come to visit Shauna. Perhaps Callie ends up drinking the tea by mistake - paralleling her dad saying she needed something stronger to take everything away before revealing the baby and how fucked up her Mom is.
Jeff is clearly very close to Callie right now and incredibly protective - storywise for those characters losing Callie opens up the show to such new heights in Season 3.

I've just finished binge watching the entire series for the first time, knowing very little about it, and one thing that's obvious is that absolutely nothing -- so far -- is supernatural. It's all implied through creepy music and camera moves, hunger, and the twisted minds of teenage girls in general.
A lot of the secrets to this show can be gleaned through retrofitting -- i.e., looking at what the writers very carefully have constructed to mislead us.
Even with Jeff out of the glitter-filled closet as the blackmailer, do you even now think that Adam was really obsessed with chunky, middle aged Shauna and running into her (literally and at the hotel) just because? Read on:
The writers have dug a very deep hole for the Sadecki family -- Shauna, Jeff, and even Callie -- but they are too endearing for anything too drastic to happen to them, at least yet, and they provide comedic relief in an almost "Fargo" kind of way. Jeff even sets us up early on to expect the worst when he's talking about the true crime shows they watch and how nobody gets away. We don't see a way out because we're not supposed to see a way out, but there is going to be one that's quite unexpected.
Things are not at all as they seem.
We see Walter contact the police, but I predict he is not going to them with useful information. Rather, he is helping Misty and perhaps the entire group, but with an ulterior motive. Walter, we already know, is almost a male version of Misty... weird but really smart... and so isn't it likely he's been sleuthing the Yellowjackets all along? He didn't meet Misty by accident, but by design. At the very least, he's choreographing a cover story -- i.e., who is to say the torso and head police have found is even Adam? The cops just recovered the body parts... and cops lie all the time... so, there's no way any crime lab anywhere has had time to do a bone marrow comparison for a positive ID. Heck, storywise, there's not really any other good reason we're not just dealing with an entire dead body. How did police find those remains anyway? Do you believe Misty is that sloppy? I don't.
Also, Walter has some connection to Adam. I'd say the chances are good he put Adam up to seducing Shauna in the first place. Adam wasn't the blackmailer, but he wasn't legit just obsessed with Shauna, either. Was he hired by Walter to get intel? Starving artists need money and Walter has plenty. Plus, Walter is all over the message boards... in a very personal and persistent way with his so-called theories about Adam. It's not because he's a dog with a bone (an "ugh" analogy, given this series); its because he KNOWS what happened.
Walter's motive isn't entirely clear yet, but it's seemingly bigger than just crushing on Misty, though he may also be doing that. He is pulling a lot of strings -- but at the end of the day, he's not a Yellowjacket, which means he's probably not quite AS smart as he thinks and his days ultimately may be numbered.

I like the series but I have not loved the pacing of this season. The last ep 7 the plot barely progressed and it truly felt like filler. Good character development this season but its the bulk of this season.
I also found them going from eating jackie for survival to flat out hunting down their friend for sport to be a complete 180 and it was jarring. They go from friends cracking jokes to wanting to slit a friends throat in an instance. Maybe thats saying something about teenage hierarchy. But it was weird along with the howling.
Also I don’t know if its just me but young tai and present day is really annoying me. In the past she gets upset that Shauna is grieving Jackie in an inappropriate way and outs Shauna for it….but only tells Van she is sleep walking.
Then fast forward to just a few episodes later she is trying to be the top hunter howling and growling trying to kill the only girl that could hunt in Natalie.
Present day she left her wife in coma fighting for her life and child went across state to be with her ex.
She has the moral compass with a magnet next to it.

I've watched both seasons and it just confirms what I originally thought this show to be. Overrated and boring. It drags so much and there's so many wasted scenes on who knows what and who is lying to who. It's just another thing for people to obsess over like Twilight. The story is boring because how many times do you need to see people eating others to survive while stranded? It's been done too many times already. Plus girls practicing witchcraft. That's so old and been done on movies and TV too many times. And nothing comes to a shock because you already know these girls are messed up in the head from the very beginning. I'm not wasting anymore time on this show if other seasons are made.

@@FH-id6xi I read something that said that not even the writer's know where the story is going, as is what the spirit tormenting them is etc. Which is normal, but dangerous when you have deadlines to submit scripts for and things like that. I liked the episode until the hunt scene myself, it felt too abrupt and odd. I had to go back to see if I messed the part where they agreed to chase someone. It would've made sense if they added a scene where they did, it would be more intense.
