- this is our quarker parrot Wilson talking! he is so funny, he is 4 yrs old. He kisses, quakes like duck, does chicken nose, here kitty kitty and then meow's like a cat, says daddy, mommie, whts up,he can say a few things, he makes us laugh

I used to take Pepper out with his wings clipped. I was taking him on my shoulder in to our Vet to have his wings trimmed after they grew out. He flew at low altitude about 50 feet before he landed in the parking lot in front of a car. Never again. I don't take him out unless he's in the pet carrier I converted with perches, ladder and mirror inside. My daughter lost her Quaker when she was in their garage with Georgie on her shoulder. Her husband dropped a trash can lid and Georgie flew out the open door. She never saw him again.
Loud noises will frighten birds. What could happen if they even swoop low to the ground several feet away. Cat? Dog? Hawk? Swimming pool where they could drown quickly. Not worth taking a chance.
I totally agree , It's not worth taking these chances ! I have just lost my parrotlet. Heartbroken about it.
His poor wings!
i lived in van buren and lost my quaker for a day! i will never let him outside again. he flew up into a small tree and while getting him down he flew into a tall oak tree on rena road in van buren (we lived at cedar creek apt.) and we didnt find him till the next morning. he climbed down then fell and flew again and landed on a billboard. someones son climbed up and was taking off his shirt to get him and he flew again. he landed on zaxbys the sun shields
At least you found yours I had 2 10 months y/o one flew away I accidentally left a window open never came back I live I. They city 3 rd floor
I let me x husband watch him while we were in Florida knowing we have had birds before and know not to take him outside without his wings clipped;(, He flew away and never found him again;(. He was my husband’s bird and he is still heartbroken over Loosing Wilson;(,

my husband grabbed A ladder from zaxbys and he stepped on my finger i grabbed him and covered him with my hat and RAN!

Hi i have a small question for you how your Quakers won't fly away, how you took him out?? mine as soon as he notice he's out he flow away and it takes us 2 hours to get him back, Thank you.

Natural instincts shudnt b curbed.Clipping wings is infringement of bird’s right to fly .for u wings r “ah! So wat if I clip them” but for them wings r their birdness! Y r u jealous that they can fly n u cant!
His wings were clipped and you have to know how to do it correctly.
