well, this show used to come on every Saturday morning at 8:30, right after the polcadot door, in the 80's, and also every afternoon, and I can't seem to find a lot of episodes on youtube, , everytime I look, it gives me the british series, but I did find one in parts. too bad it wasn't more popular. also, does anyone have the interview with Jeff Healey when he was on the show? I'm also a blind musician like he was.
I wore my CUCUMBER Club badge to the bar back in my university days, in the mid-late 90s -- that was how we did then. Pretty sure that nobody got the reference. (Anybody else think that Moose sounds like Joe Flaherty (from SCTV) here? Possible?)
Hey Nick! Thanks for your comment. TVOntario won't allow posts of Polka Dot Door because of copyright infringements so I need to respect that and no longer post episodes. Sorry, man!
Just registered the domain..... Who wants ta start a new cucumber club!!!!! (..superfluous, i know, cause the 'club' is in the 'c.u.c.u.m.b.e.r'.... and there might be another 'b' or something in there ,, uh .. given the song an' all ..but, I digress...,, and, YAY!!! :D ) ...will post url when up!!!!
The one I am thinking of was hosted by Danny Coughlin and was produced by CKCO in Kitchener, Ontario. It was co-produced by crossroads, a Christian company responsible for 100 Huntley St.
I have been trying to get in touch with her via her website for a Skype interview. Perhaps you could pass my email along: travisdoucette(at)hotmail.com Much Thanks!
I remember watching this as a kid in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Great to see some episodes on here!
I have looked for this for years!! Thank you! I lived in Canada as a child in the 70's and remember this prog so vividly
But this show was also a launching pad for 2 SCTV cast members, John Candy and Martin Short!
Totally forgot about this one. Thanks for posting!

LOVE THIS THEME SONG!
I was a cucumber club member.... Memories ☺️
I remember seeing Rocky and Bullwinkle on YTV after this and thought it was the same moose. Very similar voice.
I remember that show. I remember getting my C.U.C.U.M.B.E.R Club badge and certifficate in the mail. :) It was one of my proudest acheivements. :)

Holy Crap I remember this show watched iy all the time thanks
Now, that is a catchy theme song!
Also, why are moose always portrayed as being kind of dopey (Bullwinkle comes to mind)

I'm surprised that's so familiar too.
Anyone remember a childrens show from the 70s with an opening with these dreamy echoing chimes? I'm going crazy trying to remember the name
Polka dot door? can you be more specific?
@@akniznik I actually found it a few years ago. It's called "Tell Me A Story" on TVO in 1975.
@@edwardbliss8931 i just looked it up. i remember that opening. I was born in '72. fond memories of TVO programming.
Loved Cucumber as a kid. Supposedly Martin Short was on it. Is this true ??
tons of Canadian actors were on the show - Martin Short was a commercial actor for his early start.
Did the Moose guy also do Polka Dot Door?
He did indeed-prior to this show. Was just mentioning that on a facebook page.
Alex Laurier was an early male host of "Polka Dot Door". And he sang songs on "The Uncle Bobby Show".
.....and Martin Short
Was he really on Cucumber ?? I thought it was an urban legend.
