A typical day in the Bird Room from morning to evening

- I have 23 birds in my Bird Room and 13 cages. Some share cages and most have their own which is basically their sleep cage.
12 hours of filming condensed into 27:50 minutes
This is a typical day in the bird room. Each day is different. Their meals vary especially the fresh foods. If the weather is nice I put my birds outside either in their cages or they take turns in the Aviary on my deck.
Some days it's nail trimming day or cleaning day. If there is a storm and we can potentially loose power, I keep them in the cage for safety reasons.
If I need to go out for a longer period of time they stay in their cage until I get home.
I like to be home while they are out for safety reasons. I am lucky to be able to work from home and don't go out much.
Their bedtime varies with the season. In the spring they go to bed earlier than normal to keep hormones down.

Ahhh the Bourke zoomies! You can always count on the Bourke zoomies. I feel like mine get most of their energy out that way, then they are fairly mild unless there is some flock drama, or someone gets excited and all the other birds decide to follow... until the lights go out, then they are all wound up again!

The rosey bourkes are so sweet. I have 3 birds (2 rescues) and they’re a handful. I love them. But I think when I get a little bit older I’m just gonna get a bonded pair of rosey bourkes so I can relax. That is, after my birds have lived long and healthy lives. 😍 You’re very patient and calm, which helps your birds stay calm, I’m sure

It's so nice to see someone who gives their rabbits and birds a good life, as probably most rabbits and birds are neglected by never being let out of the cage, and that really breaks my heart to see. Hi Donna , you have a great routine.Your bird room is such a happy cheery place.I love how you handle everything there and are so precise.You take everything in stride.I watch a lot of your videos over and over soo relaxing, especially now, Iam moving from So.NY to So. New Hampshire, near my son and his family in about 7weeks. I moved my birds annual physical from Aug. to June.I worry about my bird being in his carrier for over 5 hrs, but he will have plenty of food and water.Bye for now, always a pleasure Donna 💝.

I have 3 English budgies, 2 half English/half American budgies, 2 very untamed rescue American budgies (beautiful Spangles left behind by a breeder when (s)he moved,) and 2 rosey bourkes...I found it interesting that your Bourkes like to run on the floor. Mine never have, and they are let out of their cage daily. They are fed a mix of chopped veggies daily placed on a plate on the floor of their flight cage. I do that for the budgies as well.
I have a cockatiel I got from someone else, he's been with me and my husband since dec 2020. I've been watching your videos lately, they are very fun to watch and very informative. When you mentioned that your other passion are orchids I said to myself I have to leave a comment! 😄. I have an orchid collection and I love parrots too, I've had parrots my whole life and then when I moved to my current address I decided not have any pet because my space is very small, and then we got our cockatiel Poki from this nice person who didn't have enough time for him. We love him very much and we are trying to learn as much as possible to give him the nicest life and proper care. Thanks for your awesome channel!! 🐦🐦🌼🌼.

Donna, I also have poodles and birds although not as many birds as you! I groom my own poodles (I took lessons from a poodle grooming expert but I am not, by any means, a professional although I manage to keep my three miniature poodles neat and clean and cute at all times).
Would you consider doing a how-to guide to caring for and getting orchids to bloom? My daughter and I have tried and tried and we sure would like to be in on the secrets of having a green thumb with orchids. Thanks in advance for considering making an orchid tutorial video. I water my orchids once a week and trim off the stems once the flowers fall off. I clip them above the last node. Most of them are starting to grow and bloom again

Oh this video was so good in many ways. I got to see the premier earlier and enjoyed that also. If you do another premier, could you give viewers a "heads up" like a few days before, so we can see it at the scheduled time. Hi, they go to bed between by 8 and 9 throughout the year except for breeding season they go to bed by 7 or 8 to calm down their hormones.

Wolfhounds are so beautiful. I have groomed a few during my grooming career. Not many people own them.

He is such a funny little bird. All day he flies to me and I Pet him but as soon has bedtime comes around he refuses to come to me or go in his cage. I guess he likes it up higher

Lovely birds. I got 2 lovely budgies a while ago and thinking about getting 1 more. I'm pretty sure that the the ones I have right now is a male and a female. The male is pretty dominant but the female can be very aggressive sometimes. Should I get another female or male if I decide to get one more budgie..? Thanks for a lovely video...❤
Hi. Females fight more then males so a male may work or may not work.
You may have to keep them in their own cages if they don't get along. Some get along while out of the cage and may fight in the cage.
Two males may fight over the female. It's best to have even pairs if you have males and females, however there still may be fighting to get the partner that they like.
This is why I only have males, lol.

Hlo mam!I have a male budgie whose poop seems to be watery (urine or water).
His poop is sometimes normal. He is completely fine, he always dances here and there and his very active. Moreover, he is not fluffed up. Plz help me guys as there is no vet available right now because of lockdown! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I have 1 female and 2 males. The female laid eggs last year but they were not fertile. She doesn't seem to want to have a family yet.

Please I need your advice.. I have a pair of cocktails the female got an infection in one of her eyes while she already can't see with the other one.. the vet told me that he has take her in his clinic for two weeks to take care of her as it is very hard for me to put eye drops for her .. my question is will it be better to take her alone or take them both as I am afraid that if they separated they might be sad and depressed.. the vet told me that he can give a female one to stay with my Male while the other one is in the clinic .. which solution is better to send the female only and keep the Male or send them both? Hi, avoid taking home a female. I am surprised that the vet would offer for you to take home a bird.
Is your vet a avian vet?
Any new bird would need to be quarantined for minimum 30 days and there is no guarantee that they would like each other. Let's say they get along, what happens when you have to bring her back? They both would be stressed from being separated. Your male will miss the new female. The female will miss the male. Both will be stressed.
Are you sure you can't administer the eye drops? It's best if you can administer the drops.
If you need to leave the female then it may be best to only bring her unless your male is calling for her for a few days then bring the male.

What happened to your other java finch and the other sierra parakeet?
I had to rehome my female java as she almost killed my male. My other Sierra was rehomed as Galaxy wanted to kill him.
It was too stressful to keep them apart as they would fight through the cage bars.
@@Loveofpets maybe they are in a reballion teenage mode and they are more ok with a male bird from their species when they are a little bit older.
Hello hello, so i recently got a lovebird and bonded quiet well he’d always sleep next to mee and preen me. But i got him a partner yesterday and since then he bites me when i want to have him step up. Is it a turf reason?
He has probably picked the new bird as his mate and may want to spend less time with you. He is protecting his mate
@@Loveofpets oooh i see is that a bad sign? If i would seperate them would that be a good decision or bad? I see them fight lately too. In the mornings especially. Both of them are nowhere near maturity. Both if them are 9/10 weeks
Do you know if male or female?
If they fight you may have to separate them as Lovebirds are known to hurt or kill each other unfortunately.
How old are they?
If they are babies that could be why he is biting as he is testing you and trying to be boss.

I don't have one yet, either. My 19 yo son is looking to rent his own place, so his room will become a bird room. I have cats who pay little attention to my caged feathered friends, but I don't dare to let them out, just in case. This channel has been an inspiration to me.
