I use this every day in practice. I just learned something small that I did not realize I have been doing recently. No wonder I have been getting caught up on the transition. Thanks for the detailed approach Bmac!
That vid is really amazing. The Lockdown is huge by itself but the way you put it up here its completely mind blowing! That mount escape! Not from this planet dude! Haha. Im super happy! Thats really amazing! That stuff open up so manny possibilities for the half guard players! I wont never ever be bridgeing again to escape mount and probly ending on their closed guard. Thanks a lot Coach Brandon! U r a freaking BJJ beast ninja! I will get the Lockdown course plus the Half Guard one soon.
I've watched this video probably 10 times. It's amazing. I'm the lightest guy in my gym though (127 lbs). This has been amazing at stopping the big boys from getting the pass. I have been having a lot of trouble getting the whip to the sides on them if I'm flat on my back, though, and they seem to flatten me out pretty easily. How can I either generate more momentum or get better positioning when they're just smothering me? You seem to be able to get a lot more perpendicular than I end up, if that helps.
@Brandon Mccaghren I'm usually able to get double underhooks, or at least that same side underhook. I'd say about 75% of the time I'm able to move them up my body to some degree by pushing on their armpits and pulling up with my knees, but I feel I'm not getting as close to their hips as you are.
@@dyonesios keep punching that underhook through and constantly test his base. also, think about taking yourself down to their hip, not just moving the opponent. move them, but move yourself too
Update: got this in a tournament this weekend. Didn't get the full sweep, but in defending, he gave enough space for me to threaten single leg X and I was able to turn him and come out on top. There wasn't anyone in my division so I had to give up 20lbs to get a match.
Brandon, is there a system for lockdown when it is in that stretched out stalemate position? I’ve realized I’m ending up here and will try and avoid it from now on, but what can I do if I do end up there?
And how do you not get submitted woth an Eskiel/ punch choke with one Hand stuck under my opponent and the other to far away to stop him before he gets the choke in?
These are the only lockdowns I wanna hear about!
For real
Only *lockdown* that kinda works on this planet :P unowadisaying
Thought we were gonna talk about government overreach...

I thought it was all about locking up their foot. This is awesome. Thanks guys
6:15 this happens all the time for me. Can you do a video on how to get unstuck in that position?
You gotta whip up to get back to the electric underhooks.
happens because of what Eddie says, you need to avoid streching in that position

It may also be that to be able to reach their ankle with my ankle my legs are too low on their leg?
Do you already have the underhook?

How do people get hurt from the lockdown when you mention at 6:42 ?
ACL tear
Lets just say they cannot walk for a year lol
@@brandonmcninja which knee gets torn? Do you have pressure on their lower knee with your legs/feet, or is it the knee that you are underhooking?
@@icya5844 the one that’s trapped in the lockdown
