The hardest challenge is not to pick up Mark of the Bloom/Neow's lament/Golden Idol/give curse to bonfire spirits/click through scrap ooze or read cursed book during "no relic" achievement run
And not transforming cards on "Common sense" achievement run
When I was working my way through a20 on all chars, I hit a massive wall with the silent and then an even bigger one on the defect. Defect is such a weird character that they almost seem like they’re from another game lmao. And then I played Watcher and realized that the Watcher is so op that a20 watcher was easier than a10 on other characters lol. StS is super fun, glad you enjoyed the game.
I used to think Watcher was very hard because she required a lot more thinking and maths than other characters. Then I watched Frost Prime. Needless to say, nowadays I agree with you completely, the character's foken OP
@@sallomon2357If you try to play slow and do wacky combos on the Watcher she is in fact super difficult. However if f you just remember that you have lethal and maximise how often you go in and out of wrath she is so strong
Defect is iconsistent in a frustrating way. It's difficult to beat a run without any sort if frost generation, so if you don't get offered any you die in act 2
Thoughts on Ironclad difficulty? I recently started playing and I was initially planning to gradually work my way up ascensions with ALL characters... Then I kinda felt that sticking to just one of them is better to actually learn how to make proper decks for the char

Really enjoyed watching this live, was fun seeing someone else become addicted to this game. I've purchased it 3 times (steam, iOS, and Nintendo switch) and have no regrets.

I feel like it could be fun but idk how well a video of him playing a game that is in fact largely story based would go? Maybe he could edit it into like episodes and have it run like the Expansion Series but I think it'd be hard to capture the entirety of Ruina into like a one hour video like this

So I don't know if it matters too much, but I think that since you hadn't unlocked all cards for all classes, prismatic shard was an even worse relic than you thought, the other classes good cards being unavailable and all.

I enjoyed the video, but I thought the A20 Heart kill with Frost Prime to be anti-climatic. It's kinda like getting to a final boss in an MMORPG and then having your over-leveled friend beat it for you. Would love to see you beat the heart on your own with a different character.
I kinda agree but Frost explicitly didn’t guide him too much (more just explaining mechanics that you could look up anyway), like he let Rarran fuck up without stopping him and then let him bail himself out.
That being said would be cool to see a solo A20 heart kill

@@psr_gaming I mean, fair, but AC20 is just not the hardest thing the game has to offer, simply cause mods exist and people have done a LOT to make the game noticeably harder.
I see your humility mod and raise you to a20 ruina act mod with no other mods. Act 5 will actually just end your will to live unless you have a god run... I have no right to complain about it since I'm one of the people who gave feedback to the dev that it should be harder but still.
@@Shikaschima I getcha, i beat i wanna be the boshy so i know what wanting to torture yourself feels like. ac 0 - 10 is like the tutorial, everything else is a difficulty level. Anything after that is "I want a challenge"
That was a very satisfying climb from asc zero. Dragging frost at the ending though was Dissapointing. I just personally dislike them

Funny thing about Ascension mode is that Ascension level 1 is actually easier because the extra elites give you extra relics.
I found Silent to be easiest as you can either go infinite shivs with after image for infinite damage and block or stack infinite amounts of poison.
Re-installed just to see where I left off. Apparently I beat A20 on Silent and completely repressed that memory lmfao

That's very impressive I played for 2 0month and I'm only at Ascension 14. I hope I can reach 20+the heart until the end of the year. I play the Defect. With Ironclad I'm at 5(I could probably be a lot higher but I find the class pretty boring. With Silent I'm at 9 and I haven't played any Ascension run with the Watcher(but watcher is op so I don't think il have problems with her. I haven't go for act 4 to often but the last time I beat the heart was with silent at Ascension 7. It's a very skillful game for sure but a lucky rune or card can win you games all alone. For example the 50% shop discount is so op especially if you get it in act 1
This definitely makes me respect NL even more then already. This was insane to watch in a condensed video. Good job and yeah I stopped at A17 and haven't picked it back up...until now 😂

I hate that you have Shudderwock on your wall. So many dam games lost because I didn't get a F***ing turn. Blizzard B.S. of bad design that you can get animation bombed through your turn.
A20 really quickly becomes the normal difficulty once you are pretty good at the game (which takes hours for sure). It's not like a challange run for sure.

Anything that doubles damage is broken in slay the spire, i like ironclad heavy blade, limit break, colorless relic get mantra card from the monk dudes set and you can do like 18000 damage with 999 strength

Does Hidden Valley Raranch really think The Silent is the weakest? Brother, he's the strongest character of the 4. I finish Ascension 20 with The Silent most consistently
300 hours in. I play all characters evenly. Ascension levels are: IC 7, S 13, D 10 and W 13. I look forward to the next 300 hours.
Sorry the silent is the hardest to climb the ascension? I cycle between the characters on a20 going for the heart kills and everytime the silent rolls around he disappears just as quick then the struggle comes back
After playing Slay The Spire myself I can confidently say that Shivs are op and it doesn’t matter if it is time keeper you can still win with a shiv build
Hello Rarran I dont think you know this trick but if you are in battle and u dont like what u did or missplayed u can just press esc then press save and quit button and then press continou u will start the fight from the start and not in the middle

For me, the hardest challenge is the Speed Run Achievement. Beat the game in 20 minutes or less. I have all the others, but that one is just not in my nature.
Except for Eternal One this is the last achievement I have to get. I almost have level 11 on all 4 characters too!

I enjoy endless and seeing how fast and far i can go but i did get to a10 and props for beating it on silent i dont play them

The silent was by far the easiest character for me to climb on and it has the most fun builds imho

spire acts tldr: act 1, get enough damage to survive nob, and dont die to hexaghost. Act 2: wither you roll the elites your deck is good into for book, gremlin leader, or task master (malaise, mix of aoe/single target, and aoe) + everyones favorite hidden elite, avacado + 1 that loves to punch you in the dick turn 1. Now, if you recieved pyramid at act 1 or two, congrats you have beaten the spire Edit: watching 14:11 rarren gets murdered by taskmaster compilation is hilarious when he shit talks crippling cloud on stream
