i dont really agree, although sometimes its nececary to have copy paste vehicles in the tech tree, what gaijin does most of the time is just simply copy paste to copy paste. There are a lot of interesting designs and aircraft that can be added in most cases. Look at sweden for instance, there are about 10 different variants of the J-35 irl, including really modern variants from the 80's. What does gaijin do? make 2/3 viggens ingame premiums and add a copy paste line next to it. gaijin for some reason refuses to add interesting vehicle variants/unique vehicles. same goes for the problem you mentioned with USA mid tier AA's, there are a shit ton of options and none are getting added anytime soon!
I don't want content, I don't want lineups. I wanna wait for years to get dumbass vehicles I found in wikipedia. Mainner worthless mentality.

I refuse to believe that the tech tree gui is some kind of insurmountable obstacle, what kind of fledgling 'baby's first game' dev team are we dealing with here? stop it, please, every time I hear "but muh five vertical lines" I can feel my synapses offing themselves.
in slightly less infuriating news: I agree that the Israeli tree is proof that new standalone trees have numerous problems at this stage of the game. Personally, the biggest reason I haven't played it is not that I have m60 fatigue, but rather I reaaally don't want to level(or pay for) a whole additional set of crewskills, my poor Italian crews are already pathetic compared to every other tree I've invested in.
we all know the 5 lines limit is a lie. just like how we all knew the "we cant have separate BRs for planes in air and ground modes" and look how that turned out.
@@DarkSpyro707basically everything gaijin says is lies. If they say something is impossible it really means "we could but it would potentially make us less profit on the short term and that is unacceptable even though it might grant us bigger profit on the long run because our game would be a lot more fun"
I think Sweden’s tree is almost perfect in the 5.0-9.3 range. Good mix of domestic and imported vehicles along with Finland’s line that is completely separated.

Great idea, you could have Benelux, Poland, Switzerland, Czechia, Spain, and so many others. Yeah it would be fun. And so you could do that for each continent. So you could have south America, Asia and Africa.
A scroll bar at the top would help with people who use older monitors though i might be wrong.
I tried making the alternate tab tree suggestion multiple times a year or so ago on the forums and was told repeatedly it already existed in the game even though it doesn't yet. But I hope they do it, it could really help existing nations while allowing new ones to flourish.
I agree with your points, subtrees are great and they fix many problems in one go, but I do think they overdo the copy-pastes, and they don't add anywhere near enough indigenous unique vehicles. I mean I count around 40 domestic Hungarian designed vehicles that could be added to War Thunder, yet out of these, only 4 were added to the Hungarian subtree! And in the Hungarian aviation subtree, there still isn't a single Hungarian plane! This would be fine if Gaijin would eventually add the domestic Hungarian designs later on, but many of the copy-pastes take their place, and so realistically Gaijin will never bother modelling the unique Hungarian stuff, when copy-pastes are already "serving their purpose" (but poorly).

Every tree has BR holes in them where they have nothing, or have one orphan that has to drag or get dragged up to make one.

Gaijin does have limited development resources, so no, assigning in house devs and contract modelers etc., to one set of projects or additions, takes assets away from working on other.

Tbh, France could use a lot more 6.0/8.0 tanks. Especially stabilized tanks. Every single 8.0-8.7 vehicle France has is unstabilized and while I don't have them, I imagine they would be absolute hell to use.
Yeah it isn’t that fun but the do sort of make up with it because they get some really good mobility but because of the lack of stabilization your limited to sniping anyway. You also get some alright fire control systems for that BR range
@@thefrenchcommander5770 Good Fire Control does not an 8.7 vehicle make. They should at the uttermost be 8.3, since that's where most nations have their unstablized APFSDS slingers at. If they had a faster reload I could maybe see them pulling it off, since that's how the STRV 103C can stay at 8.7 and be a massive threat. But in their current state they have no business being at 8.7.

I started with France back then because I was interested in the Leclercs. If they add the BNL states it's another Leopard2a6m, CV9035, F-16 etc. and I just don't want that and they don't need a subtree get it, of course there are some BR areas where France "has almost nothing" but I don't think it's a bad thing, but other BR areas are "overcrowded" with tanks see BR 7.7 I hope they don't get it, I would find it really sad if they did make.
The only reason people complaing about lend lease vehicles, is because an Op vehicles theyve been abusing for ages, COUGH T72, are now their opponents
At a certain point I think it's a bit ridiculous to cater to people using 20 year old tech to play the game
Yeah like good pcs aren’t that ridiculously expensive anymore and same with consoles. Tech has evolved pretty well and if you have a little cash you can get a pretty decent rig
I’ve always said there should be a bare minimum pc requirement to even play some games no more putting all settings to low
@@teyyo9745 oh yes good pc's are still absurdly expensive. and the worst of the parts are ofc monitors which are at least $200 for a decent one, and gpu, which is at least $400 for a good one
@@SovietUnion_ I run war thunder on a rtx 1660 with 18gb of ram, the rig was around $1,000 when it was purchased (by my wonderful mother) and now the SAME build is like $500 on amazon, as for monitors I use an asus gaming monitor with 240hz which can over clock to 280hz. I get around 120 fps per match. Kids can earn money and adults can work to get a mid tier setup. Simple as.

One of the biggest points continue to be missed and is the one I don't see talked about much. BeNeLux as a subtree for France means that they're vehicles will be locked from other tech trees.
So the entire idea behind subtrees with the context of European defense procurement as everyone bought from wherever they can get vehicles that fit their requirements. Homogenization of tech trees will happen is a very real possibility.
Germany could have used vehicles from Belgium and the Netherlands, Luxembourg is admittedly very small in what it brings. The possibility that Switzerland being locked into Germany is a possibility now with Benelux being a commitment. France and the UK could have used vehicles from them.
So in the pursuit of taking the easy way out, Gaijin has created many problems that they're unwilling to commit to taking a more complex solution to. France lacking in 10.0-11.3 is Gaijin's fault alone.
I will never understand if the commonwealth nations are in the British tech tree like South Africa, Australia, India etc why did Gaijin add an Australian Abrams in the American tech tree instead of the British but the India T90S is in the British tech tree?

In the Italian tree they still force you use Hungarian planes to get to the top of the tree. If Hungary is still a secondary line I don't want to be forced to play copied vehicles.
same with Sweden and "Finland" (cough, cough mini Germany and Russia) seriously, add something special atleast. Not just C&P

One advantage of having independant trees for nations rather than more composites is they are much leaner. Leaner trees means you can progress quicker. I have to disagree with you on Japan and Italy, I think both these nations have been great and very unique. I dont play Israel, but its clearly a nice option for people who want a fast track to modern vehicles (i.e. post 1960).
I ended up maining japan for this exact reason. It is the quickest and cheapest tech tree in the game and it relative time to other nations it i got to top tier very quickly. It certainly wasnt the easiest grind especially in certain BRs but it was the most efficient way to catch up to my friends who were way ahead of me in in the game. In fact I even surpassed most of them lol. Now im at top tier for both air and ground. But japan's problem is that 10.0 ground literally does not exist because gaijin bumps every all modern japanese vehicles because "they're just too good" so i cant play at 10.0 with friends who havent made it to 11.0 yet. other than that snag i wouldnt trade japan out for throwing it under some other nation's tech tree.
I hear you. But I think there's too much obsessing over BRs in the WT community. I have vehicles in all nations I don't hesitate to bring well outside their given BR. This is a bit of an extreme example, but I run my FOX at 9.3 - first vehicle out of the gate.
@@ToddMorgan-el5iy i dont think there's an over obsession of BRs. BRs is the game's balancing system so we dont have WWII vehicles facing M1 Abrams. Its certainly not a perfect system but we have to work with what we got. However there are vehicles that end up exceeding what their expected capabilities are can can end up punching up higher than they were thought to be able. That doesnt prove anything against the BR system, that just proves that their are exceptions tp the rule. Especially the Fox, one of the many rat vehicles in the game that are notorious for causing mayhem despite their BRs. All rat vehicles do this. But exceptions to the rule doesnt mean im okay with dragging 10.0 vehicles to face potentially 11.7s just because "BR doesnt matter".
What's the final soloution for copy paste vehicles ?
Get rid of them all using ga... uh , i mean, just delete them but let the players who already have them, have them permanently

BeNeLux tree for France is just stuipd in my opinion. France needs light tanks and stuff to fill the 9.7-11.3 br gap. BeNeLux doesnt do any of these things.. the Leopard 2a5 and 2a6 will be 11.7 with the 4 leclerc we already have.
A swiss tree could have given us all the panzer 87 virants which would go from 10.0 to 11.3
It's been passed around that Switzerland should be split between France and Germany.
France doesn't need all of Switzerland's equipment just like Germany as well.
Maybe if they put vehicles in the game simply because they existed and not because they fill a niche role would make people happy. a lot of vehicles are omitted for this reason I feel.
I think, that I probably might have a much better idea than gaijin when it comes to asian tech trees. I think they should take the Taiwan tech tree line off of the Chinese one and put Taiwan with Japan. Than put North Korea as a replacement sub tree line for china. Now when they add ROK, they should add the Turkish Republic as subtree to south Korea. Which it will help it become a complete tech tree.

The AMX10 with the stabilised gun, Venezuelan amx-30 and Jaguar would all fit. France is lacking IFV/wheeled vehicles from 8.3 up.
That's a huge capability gap that actual vehicles could fill but all they get is one premium.
I still think it should have been divided by regions. North America for : USA & Canada, Western Europe: Subtrees and splits, Eastern Europe, North Asia, South ASia etc.
*rubs hands* Yes, in order for the tech tree to survive, we need to accept more more foreign vehicles. But not the Israeli tree, it's already full.
The only problem i have with this sub TT is that France could reseve some french made unique vehicles , and subTT so far only have been lazy copy past

What really shines about war thunder is its somewhat historical base. My problem is when there is a t90, soon to be a mig 21 and all the British vehicles in one tree along with a few French ones it sort of ruins what little immersion is left

but yeah, a subtree for france is kinda meh, when you know the number of French that could get added to fill the holes, but it seems that gaijin has a easier time just using copy paste vehicle and creating subtree than doing any job for new vehicle
It's about the time it takes to add these. Gaijin could add French, Italian, Hungarian domestic vehicles, but it would take a long time to properly model them. Copy-paste vehicles take almost no time and plug the gaps instantly, which is why Gaijin does it.
I don't think it'll be ANYTHINGto do with people using old tech, they don't give a s**t about people who spend money on premiums or GE vehicles by nerfing them 5 mins after purchase, they aren't going to give a s**t about people who won't or can't buy a new/more modernd PC/Console!
If you put nations like NL into France for example then I don’t really understand what’s the point of having and playing Germany since nations like NL and some others all just use German mbts.
So then you have leclercs and german mbts and that sucks for me.

Germany has bad jets. The tiger chopper only has the spikes which work pretty bad to be honest. The tank destroyer Wiesel sucks compared to some others because of the slow reaction of the atgms. So you have a pretty decent AA which only has 8 missles but is super huge and you have really good mbts. Now tell my why we should put all those german tanks which are used by other countries in other trees.
That’s my opinion. I know you don’t agree with that but putting those vehicles in other trees just because they are not good enough or don’t have enough tanks is not the right way for me.
If so, we can all just put every tank in every tree and have wild setups so you no longer need to care what nation or whatever.
If people are still using a 4:3 CRT monitor they need to be put in a mental asylum. This is the stupidest reason for not expanding tech trees.

This is off the main discussion, but does any of you guys in the Asian community have any ways or tricks to get stable connection (300 Ping warrior) while playing?, I've tried many ways but it doesn't change anything. Best I got is 250 Ping. And I always lose to that fast-paced engagements due to the ping and Packet loss. Any advice would be appreciated guys

Germany doesnt need Poland as a substree since Poland has lot of its own vehicle and they can add CzechSlovakia with it as a subtree since most of Czechoslovakia has its own vehicles which only few are copy paste

Why not add a collectors tree, like world of tanks has? Old vehicles both premium and event vehicles into a tech tree that can be researched via a set of objectives specific to the vehicle (see obj260 campaign in world of tanks)
Well, the netherlands should be part of the german tech tree as the netherlands has a huge part of their army integrated into the german bundeswehr. This is one of the closest cooperations you could get, its partly a fusion of both nations forces. I understand the idea of adding the benelux as a whole to the french tech tree, but in reality they work as a joined force with germany.

I miss the times when i knew i was Fighting German vehicles (for example) when fighting Germany. Now every nation just has vehicles of every nation and theres less and less reason to pick a nation for uniqueness. I remember the times we used to make fun of world of tanks for having "unhistorical" matchmaking
Now when you're playing a sherman you're almost guaranteed to also fight shermans

Simple fix for peeps that want a pure tech tree. Put a check box “Hide non indigenous vehicles “. Click it and you don’t have to see them. DONE! The only stickler would be if that vehicle would be required to progress to the next rank.
The thing is is that this more than just seeing a vehicle in the tech tree. People are moaning about having to face copy and paste vehicles in battle. They dont like being in a Sherman and looking down their sights to see an enemy Sherman. A lot of these people tend to be WWII purist and still feel we should still have historical match making of axis vs allies so i just ignore these people.
You’d also have to make it so they can’t face them in match making
Game designer needs to be promoted elsewhere.
im highly in favor of keeping tech trees pure, or at least limit them to being pure in simulator. I shouldn't be facing Mig29 of germany while playing ussr just because blue team - red team.
Got passed to a new streamer in a raid, the conversation centered around the number of ‘one and done’ players that dropout early …….. they drop out because ‘ground’ in WT just sucks. Layers of bullshit, bias, and the focus on map memory and playing for kills …….
