Oh my. Just found this channel and this woman is a combination of every church lady I've ever met and my own late sweet grandmother. You just know I'm following this channel for some killer recipes.
I love that you still wear your watch. 😊 My grandmother-in-law was from Honea Path, and she added hard boiled eggs to this. As a young bride, I watched her carefully for years while she cooked, and, of course, helped as she would let me. Your cooking brings back so many memories! (I am a darn good cook because of her.)
I line a 3 quart round dish lined top and sides with ritz crackers not crushed. Put in a layer of asparagus. Cover 1/2 with mixture of 1 can of mushroom soup and cheddar cheese. Then another layer of ritz ,asparagus and finish with rest of mixture and top with ritz crackers. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes, Enjoy !
I love asparagus ❤but there’s not much I don’t like 😂 I add sliced boiled eggs on top of my asparagus then I add a jar of pimentos, 2 cans of sliced water chestnuts on top of that then I add the sauce and cracker crumbs. Sweet lady at church Miss Evelyn made this for my daddy who was her Pastor and it became one of his favorites and mine too . Thank you for helping us Miss MeMe ❤

This is delicious! I have always used my beloved aunt’s recipe but use this now! At 86 y/o I can now try others without feeling disloyal! You’ll understand, won’t you? ❤

First time I've heard of this. I'd love it, I just have to see who else in the family likes asparagus, not sure anyone else in my family does. For some, its a hard vegetable to like, just like Brussel sprouts . My husband wont eat either one, he hates broccoli , and cabbage.

Yet another load of cans opened! Do you never buy FRESH food? But hey, no canned soup in this 'recipe'! In the rest of the World, a casserole is described as cooking tougher, cheaper cuts of meat in an unthickened gravy for a long time - the longer the better. A casserole pot has a tight fitting lid too. What you have put together with all your pre prepared ingredients is a gratin. But, a real gratin does not contain crackers of any sort, it would be fresh breadcrumbs on the top only. Strange way to make a cheese sauce too and its also far too thick & gloopy. No fresh herbs or a grating of nutmeg in it or a splash of white wine, which would cheer it up. Obviously, you dont know the correct way to make a roux for a sauce. I notice you always use pre grated cheese (the most expensive way to buy cheese) do you not possess a cheese grater?
@michaelluck2670, if you don't like Meme's cooking style, then don't watch her videos! She has her own Southern style of cooking, and they (Southerners) LOVE canned vegetables; she is not a gourmet cook, okay? But she is as sweet as she can be and doesn't need your negativity.
There are different ways to make recipes, I always have canned and frozen items, for when I'm tired and want something fast and easy, so I enjoy Meme's recipes . And, Meme, I pretend you're my grandma! 👋☺️, She passed years ago, and I miss her. I also love butter,😍
