I looked up this director because I watched Ad Astra and was half convinced that it was written and director by an actual alien attempting to emulate a human being. The plot and the dialogue felt like it was translated badly from Chinese to English without being double-checked. Anyways, you should check it out and see for yourself - it is just so very strange and makes you wonder if it was supposed to be a comedy, or done that way out of spite for a producer or something. Good on him for insulting Weinstein -- but what an insufferable man.
Mendax Venandi nah dude it’s just subtlety and understated dialogue. it’s not a regular film, it is strange I’ll give you that but it’s actually great. Rewatch

StudioCanal released it in Germany and France on Blu-Ray. Very easy to find.
