I've always like this song. This morning for some reason it came to mind and while I was humming the tune, it hit me that the cadence of the song reminded me of "The Big Rock Candy Mountains". Then when I thought about the lyrics, I realized that both songs were kind of saying the same thing. Did Merle have "Big Rock Candy Mountains" on his mind when he wrote "Rainbow Stew"?

Hey David! Hope you are well man. When I ask about Scott Joss they say he is pretty much retired. I thought he might come out for the big birthday celebration but he didn’t. I miss him for sure.
