- The major scale is one of the MOST important things you need to know. The guitar isn't the easiest instrument to understand this pattern. I'm here to help.

Hi there! My name is Amy Mantis. I'm a guitarist, singer/songwriter, educator, and soon-to-be master's of music student. I practice maximum enthusiasm in all that I do. I hope you find my videos to be helpful and inspiring.
Thanks for watching!
Cheers,
Amy
I saw a lesson on this (I forget where?!) using the 5 caged shapes. For each one, play the chord using that shape, then play the root note then one of the other 6 notes (here's what the root sounds like after the chord, here's what the 1st sounds like after the chord, .... here is what the 7th sounds like after the chord). You learn the chords/triads in each shape, and overlay the scale.
That’s a great method too!
Nice video, Amy.
thank you!
Thank you, Amy! This is so important to know and you presented it in a very easy-to-understand format.
Thanks for your support, Fred!
Thanks

Nicely presented, but the audio was turned way down when the video was made, so you have to bump up the volume quite a bit to play it and then other vids are way too loud so you have to turn it back down. A minor issue but it would help for further vids to match it closer to other vids on RUclips.
Thank you - I’m working on the audio quality as I go along with these. Hopefully each time I dial it in a bit better.
The Horizontal Way!
Any way to break outside the box!
