Awesome craftmanship. I built myself a secret compartment but never thought about fingerprint access. Way cool. One suggestion if I may. Instead of fingerpring in plane site I would reverse it and mount the fingerprint scanner in the back underneath so no one would know more than they need. But again...awesome creativity.
That would be a great idea, i have also done it with an rfid key fob.
Only real problem is that the fingerprint lock should've been recessed in the bottom of the top leaf there that's overhanging. It's not really a hidden compartment when you can see the door, so to speak.
I'm curious.whatif the fingerprint lock stops working? I'm building a desk and I've considered that lock but I think I prefer one with fingerprint and buttons/keys just in case the lock fails.
Agreed. If it was underneath, it wouldn't tip off anyone that there may be goodies inside.
@@JeffersonRah literally explained in the video that that was why he attached the bottom the way he did. In case of fingerprint scanner failure, you remove the bottom
Saving this video for when I’m a dad looking for projects to do around the crib
This is phenomenal! Like how there is no music, it don’t impact the quality of the content but it’s appreciated. Last thing you COULD so sell these, I guarantee there’s folks out there who would buy them.
Thank you! Please like and sub

Thank you for "Because America" that is fantastic.
Great job, I built one like this for a book cabinet years ago, God Bless America
Good way to stay ready. Great tutorial for the hands on. Should sell kits, would make a great hobby.
With all the positive feedback I think your right! A kit would be great
I’m thinking about making these in Michigan and starting my own business by making these and selling them locally

YES! I would absolutely buy it
I'm definitely with a kit. How can we get one?
I know I’m getting older when I enjoy videos like this. Awesome table!
You and me both!
Yes! We built this thing because of America! Thanks for the vid!
You bet!
I am going to build this along with matching end tables and a sofa table. This is the best idea I have seen to date for concealment furniture. I will make one change though, I am going to use hidden RFID locks instead of the fingerprint locks. I like the way you think. Keep up the good work!!!
Thanks for the comment, I have build the same exact one but with an rfid key fob for a totally hidden look. Extremely easy mounting the lock inside, use the same method as this video.
Handguns for the left and right hand on the end tables & an AR for the toes in the sofa table.
You ain't doing shit.
Just built it myself. It’s a first for me! FYI entire thing can be cut from a single 4x8 sheet of plywood for about $40 cheaper. Thanks for the awesome instructional video! Huge fan!
Absolutely it's a pleasure to post these videos. Keeps me motivated when people build them. Please send me your build photos on FB messenger. I'll throw them on the Facebook page @RusticAnchorWoodworks
I think that's really clever and a great design, especially the fingerprint lock.
I would never have thought about a concealed weapons coffee table. Absolutely brilliant.
Thanks !
Watch the Bruce Willis death wish
Youd never think of it because youd never need one. Its like having a weapon concealing dartboard. Why?
@@sandersson2813 you may not need it if you don't own guns... but for those of us that do.... it is a great idea.
@@DarknessNation lThe question is why you need guns and how paranoid are you that you need instant access from a fucking coffee table.
How many enemies do you have? 😂 😂 😂

@@rusticanchorwoodworks693 I'm on it! Looking forward to your next project!!
Thanks for making the concealed coffee table. Enjoyed watching how you built this cool functional table.
This gave me an idea with an old small dining table I have in my “office” that I use as a work bench. I can modify it like this just for storage and not have to keep everything on top of it.
Full send!!!
Another thing that you might want to do is put some foam or something inside to prevent things from moving around or making noise, in case someone bumps into it and starts wondering what that strange noise was.
Get the hard foam that you have to cut out and make your storage nice like a gun case would have
I also would like it to be completely unbreakable solid steel (except for a secondary wood top) and have the thumbprint hidden better. AND have the legs lagged to the floor. Good day.
Kyzen foam would be perfect for this
@@unashamedly1776 yes!
I was thinking the same thing and I wouldn't tell anyone but very close family
if I was concealing weapons in there
Definitely build a secret compartment coffee table so you can tell ALL your friends and family. Smart.
I really enjoyed this video. After I watched for the third time I couldn’t help spending the holiday weekend building my own. I love it
Thank you for sharing the video
Post it on my FB page gotta see it!
Found my next project. I have already put concealment shelves throughout the house. Thanks for the video.
Awesome! I hope you do try it out, its not that bad to build. Post it up on my FB site when your done!
I’d buy that!
Very nicely done. Thank you for taking the time to make a video detailing the process at no cost.
If you ever build one for another friend that doesn’t end up taking it, reach out to me, I’ll buy it.
Have a great weekend.

Brilliant Design. One thing I might do is figure out a way to waterproof the bottom side of the tabletop. Wood will expand and retract depending on climate and create voids for liquids to make their way through. Coffee tables are prone for drink spills and would stink to have sticky or water damaged items inside.
you can put a piece of glass on top and inside of it
Look into epoxy maybe
@@John_Doe_6996 or can epoxy the entire top of the table, have it stupidly strong, and waterproof
You the man! This has gotta be my next project. Was in the market for concealment furniture but not anymore. Thanks to you, I’m motivated to build my own. Thanks brother.
100% did you end building one for yourself?
Wow what a beautiful piece. Would've never thought a coffee table could have someone ready. Good job. Thanks for sharing
Great video. Appreciate your time making it. Also love the “cause ‘Mercia” lol!
Awesome! Thanks for stopping by.
First of all, that looks incredible and it turned out great. Have you ever considered using magnetic locks so that when you hold the magnet in the right spot, it will open, but for anyone looking around, they would have no idea there was anything to be opened?
Yes, I have used magnet locks in a few other builds including this one. This build you can use any lock and it will work fine, rfid, magnet, fingerprint. Thanks for the great feedback.
Woodworking with flip flops on, definitely living the dream my friend! Thanks for the great video.
Hahaha the weather is great year round where I live! Thanks for stopping by
That thing looks amazing man. People would pay an arm and leg for something like this. Great tutorial.
Thanks
Man, I’ve never tried to build a piece of furniture, let alone even a small project. This tutorial was detailed and showed all necessary steps in a straightforward manor. I think I might try this, and if it works out, maybe even try to sell a few to fund my other hobby 😉
Hahah man give it a shot! You'll enjoy it
I saw you on FB decided to watch your full video. You really have done an excellent job in a step by step way. Only dislike is your love for sanding. That of course is a personal thing.
😂😂 this guy gets it
Hahaha its a love or hate kind of thing, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
Thank you so much for this vidoe! I'm going to show my husband and we are going to build one, thanks for all the details and measurements.
You are so welcome!
Awesome build!!! And thank you for taking the time to post links for each item you used, that really helps. Canlt wait to build this table.
id switch that locking mechanism out for a spring-loaded one, just to make it a bit quicker. great vid , ty for sharing
Great idea
A good way to raise the top is to take you some small metal thumbtacks and put one in each corner, that way when you set your top on it it will hold it up off of there enough and also the top will slide across the top of the thumbtack really well.
My grandpa just build a shop in his garage and we have been looking for our first project. This might have to be it!
Full send!
Thanks so much for this great tutorial, I did this project with my woodworking class at a school in the us, they loved it, I’m glad they concealed their ar15s in there school tables that we now use , then their school bags
Awesome, I'd love to see ylthe final build please post pics on my fb page.
Very cool build, I really like it. I am not negative RUclips Nancy as I think you did great, but food for thought - finger print locks are supercool but may prove to be a fatal flaw in a life or death situation. If you are sweaty and or bloody from fighting for your life, this type of lock may not function as desired.
I’m sure this guy like many red blooded Americans has a gun on his hip and many more places around the house.
Thats a really good point.
@@94villianvp96 valid points and the phrase is - you will not rise to the occasion but fall back to training. Nevertheless, I don't see how that pertains to my original post.
Nice build, a magnetic child’s lock would work also. I used to have an amazing wood shop and built custom furniture as a hobby. Mostly solid cherry, maple and oak. I can’t believe I sold it all. Now I want to built some Alexia I need more gun cabinets. Im gonna give it a shot with basic tools I have left.
Heck ya! Full send!
Excellent. Hope to see more concealment builds from you.
Thank you! I have some more ideas and content videos coming soon!
CAUSE......AMERICA!!!!!!!!!! LOVE IT!!!! SWEET SET UP MY FRIEND!
Hahaha thanks! I might just keep using that line in my next videos
Great build, thanks for sharing this!
Only minor flaw that could happen here is that fingerprint sensor would fail to recognize you in exactly the wrong moment, especially if your finger is sweaty/dirty. But on the other hand, you don't need to look for a key in case of emergency, it's always with you))
Good point! I have built these with a rfid lock as well
Finally, a project I WANT TO START
Rustic Anchor Woodworks makes some really good stuff. This inexpensive project can be fully customized to match any living room. Good work Nate! Look forward to your next demo
Stay tuned coming soon!
Yup I would build one & add cushion inside for the guns. Personal addition 👌🏽
Cool. you're gonna need one of these in every room in the house, so we need to see this in picture frames, side tables, kitchen drawers ... good start!
Who is attacking you that often lol
@@kizhax Livin' the John Wick lifestyle.
Thank you for your time and energy this is a beautiful project that I think I can do. Wifey wants a river table I think I will try this and put a river table top on it. May have to change the wood to something harder to hold the weight. But again that you.
I'd love to see what you come up with, throw a picture of my FB page
Great idea and great build! The only change I think I would make is I would put the fingerprint sensor underneath so it looks completely plain to any guests.
Also can we get the link for the fingerprint lock? Didn’t see it in the description. Thank you!
Thanks bro. I'm going to give it a shot! I'm no finish carpenter, but I'm handy enough to tackle it I think!
You got it!
This is an amazing video and great idea. Do you have the materials, cut list, and plans written down anywhere that you would be able to share?
"Because America" I love that!
Absolutely stunning and beautiful wish I could make it. Don't have the tools or the space to build it though.
Me too. I have tools just lack his skill. Lol
Don't kid yourselves, ya'll can do it (or do it with a friend who has the tools to do it with you)
I lack the space, need a garage! lol
You can knock it out and gain knowledge, skills and experience while doing it. take a shot at it!
30:30. “Because America”. Great finish. Great vid. Thx.
I appreciate it!
he comes home his wife is like i got rid of that table cause we got a new one from my mom because she didnt want it anymore
Great tutorial. I will modify to conceal the fingerprint mechanism by relocating that under the table.
Only thing to add, possible option, spring load the opening. Also on the finishing a “sanding sealer” like Benite helps get a nicer finish on soft wood.
Thanks for the tutorial! I certainly understand why the price of lower quality premade tables are so expensive. It's like building guns or reloading ammunition... It's having the right tools to do a quality job first. If you're only going to use them once then buying a premade is cheaper than buying a wood shop, but if you plan to make more then it's worth the investment so you can make it how you want it!
Rather than repositioning the guide rails, you could hit the top of the base with a sander in the high spots. When you're done and put it together you can also hit any spots that may be rubbing with some 2ax or paraffin.
I do sand the high spots but you need a very small clearance for it not to grab while opening.
Absolutely amazing!!! I definitely want one in my living room!!! Of course with the irons included
try your hand at the build its not too bad.
Dope idea and execution, but a word of warning for any SHTF type DIYers, if exposed to an emp, those electronic locks are all gonna fail. Make sure you have a manual method to unlock, magnets or key or something like that
If an EMP goes off getting that gun out is the least of your worries.
@@blackedout000 agreed, but it does not have to be an act of war, it can occur naturally and can be an unfortunate result of living near certain industrial electrical components frequently used in our grid. And while yes, their are plenty of things to be worried about if either event occurs, the fact is that being able to access one of those firearms quickly could be the difference between life and death. The reason people who DIY for SHTF exist is because of being in a heightened state of preparedness. Adding a manual way to unlock this is simply logical.
I would like to build something like this. Save this video for when I have a garage
You might want to put a strip under the drawer slide to hide the metal on the sides, and you could put the finger print reader on the bottom of the drawer so it is hidden. The ones I've used make you orient your finger a particular way, so you have to record several fingers in different orientations so it works when you need it. Too bad they don't have the processor power to rotate the finger print to check for a match but they are cheap.
Or some home automation ... Hey Siri, give me my guns :)
@@kevinpunter7960 that means one day amazon can open your table…
@@patrickcoyne1292 well in the case of Siri, it'd be Apple. But yes, scary. Imagine 10 years from now when a team of hackers turns every self driving car into a deadly human targeting missile :O
Our reliance on technology could be our end so easily.
Great work mindset and method. I was impressed when you did those pilot holes from the bottom up on the back trim. That’s hard to do straight and true
Nice job 👍
Thanks for the visit
Awesome job, you could easily recess this in a wall without any legs and add a mirror to it.
I’m going to try it. I would line the drawer with suede so the firearms aren’t just sitting on painted wood
Do it!! I would love to see the final build.. post it on my FB page @RusticAnchorWoodworks
Another idea would be to put a thin sheet of foam on the bottom for protection and then a little thicker piece of foam with cutouts to keep the weapons from sliding around if someone bumps into it.
Right on! Thanks for taking the time to film , edit and post this!
Your certainly welcome! If you wouldn't mind subscribing to help this channel grow I would appreciate it

I loved this video. You are very patient explaining step by step. Thanks for sharing, I'm gonna try and make one for myself too.
Thanks! Give it a shot it's not that bad.
@@rusticanchorwoodworks693 Can i ask you about the bottom piece?? The plywood you used that will be the bottom of the box. Is that 1/2" plywood or 3/4???
Now if i could figure out a way to hide the finger print sensor then it would be perfect. Cuz hiding the fact that it’s even got a lock would eliminate the possibility of someone thinking somethings inside.
They make certain locks that are magnetic where you need to rest something on the lock in order for it to open, and completely stealthy.
@@2awarrior that would be perfect
@@icebox829 like it could be a porcelain angel for example and once you set it on top of the lock it opens and it would make an awesome centerpiece for your table and unless you have it in that exact spot they’ll never know the difference
You could add this lock or any other style underneath for a stealth look.
'Cause this is 'Merica! Great job!
I think that this table would be awesome if the top opened like a hinged lip up and had like armor plating on the non visible side to use as a shield when getting your weapons out
...or you could move somewhere safer. ;)
Bud bullets go through walls like butter moving to a another room is giving the enemy more time to figure out how to kill you

Now you're talkin. This is fucking smart. Regardless of anyone's POV on guns, this is super clever. Think about it. Where's the most likely place you'll be sitting if someone comes to your house and does a home invasion. You'll likely be watching TV late at night. Damn son.
Haha thanks
Really cool man, my skeet shooting buddy made a key fob false closet door in his hallway that looks like it's just kind of like a picture and decor stand that is inset into the wall about 4 inches, and then the whole thing is a door that opens and he has all his gun safe and everything in there. Pretty awesome
Heck ya!
I'm going to recess the fingerprint lock to make it less noticeable. Great job on the build it looks amazing
