I know this isn't a bearded dragon video but it's your latest video and I've got a question that I can't find an answer to anywhere else. First you need to understand my beardies odd behavior because some of the "signs" other bearded dragons show aren't what he means usually like his beard darkening doesn't mean he's upset because. I know this because he will darken it while coming to snuggle to me even though it's not full black, usually it's only black along the edges while the rest is orange. So lately he's been going from preferring to be cold (70°F) most of the time to laying halfway in his basking spot all day. Is this normal behavior? He's just hit a year old and I'm wondering if it's because he's an adult now. He still does other things normally and the only thing that changed in his tank recently is I basically mirrored everything so it's the exact same just backwards.
When you pick him up make sure that when you first grab him you grab him from underneath rather than grabbing him from above, make sure he can see your hand coming towards him. Then when you have him in your hands make sure that you are supporting his whole body (they feel more comfortable when they feel secure that they won’t fall). If you do all that and he still wiggles a lot it might just take some time for him to settle down and relax. Just keep working with him until he is used to and comfortable with you holding him. Do you know what happened to him he hasn't posted in 5 months, that's kinda sad seeing as how great of a guy he is and how educational and helpful his videos are
If anybody is out there I need some serious advice. I haven't had any response from Elon. My Smaugette is sick and, this time, I don't know what's wrong with her. She's been very sick a couple of times, but I was able to nurse her back to health (I'm an RN) Before anyone lovingly suggests taking her to a vet, that is not an option, unfortunately. I won't go into major details here, but plz respond if you truly know a lot about beardies. I am so distraught 😢 I've been trying to attach a pic but not able to
