+David Grant Just because YOU aren't a fan of Slayer doesn't automatically mean they shouldn't be listed here. Both of the songs mentioned here have paved the way for heavy metal through the 80's
I could never make or especially publish a top 1,000 songs list because right after making I would keep coming up with songs that I missed and keep wanting to move songs higher
I don't think anyone gets how hard it would be to create a list of best songs because not only is music one of if not the best inventions of all time but also every single person is attracted or repelled by different songs so it is really hard so cut this guy some slack he must of put in heaps of effort
The idea that since someone put a lot of effort into making a piece of work, no part of that work can be criticized is ridiculous. Have you ever complained about one scene in a movie you didn't like, but thought it was great otherwise? If people have a problem with part of the artwork, it should be expressed, not left alone because it was hard making that art.
@@FrowningTable But this isn't really a piece of work. It's a list of pieces of work, so I really don't see how you can criticize this. You not liking one of the songs he chooses is not a problem with the list. His choices are purely subjective. I guess you could criticize the editing, but you can't criticize him liking something you don't.
@@bigbertha1239 A poor song choice on a list is a subjective problem with the list. I think people are also allowed to criticize the opinions of others, like I am doing right now. Take someone like Joseph Stalin or Hitler as an obvious example: I don't think people have an objective problem with them, but rather disagree with their moral alignments (an opinion). Both have been heavily criticized for their actions and opinions over the course of history, and people don't really disagree with this criticism, granted nearly everyone is also critical of them. Also, this is totally a piece of work, it might just not fall under the typically conceptual view of one.
Good list but i think that Some songs are missing : Eminem - The Real Slim Shady Queen - Show must go on Michael Jackson - Bad Linkin Park - in the end Michael Jackson - Smooth Criminal REM - Shiny Happy People Gerry rafferty - Baker Street Berlin - Take my breathe away Linkin Park - numb Evanescence - bring me to Life Britney Spears - Baby one more time Michael Jackson - You are not alone Eminem - Without Me Tupac - changes
I love your videos. And I'm amazed by the effort of choosing 1000 songs and editing the video. And of course the list is great, lots of differents genres, eras and artists. Congratulations!!!
what about that bass was higher than Another one bites the dust, Run to the hills, The trooper and Iron Man and Ziggy Stardust, Changes, this is actually insane
From The Beatles you could have put in this list Nowhere Man, Helter Skelter, Tomorrow Never Knows & There, Here and Everywhere. They are also great, always impresive and classic songs.

Wow, what a list! Very cool covering the last 60 years of music, and love a nod to some classic metal as well. A lot of variety. Thanks for compiling and sharing!
I like the variety of music and the effort you put into making this list. I personally would like it more though if you added the years which the songs came out. Here's my personal top 10 favorite songs in no particular order: A Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum (1967), Flying by the Beatles (1967) All You Need is Love by the Beatles (1967) Sound of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel (1964) Fields of Gold by Sting (1993) Every Breath you Take by the Police (1983) Nights in White Satin by Moody Blues (1967) He ain't Heavy, He's my Brother by the Hollies (1969) Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress by the Hollies (1972) El Condor Pasa by Simon & Garfunkel (1970)
i dont know - why people hit dislike ?! this is very good work and good hard work - to all people dont like this video - dont hit dislike just leave in peace
Amazing video. I’ve been inspired to make my own top 1000, just need to put a video together now. Can I ask how you made this video and what app you used, and didn’t experience any copyright issues, as a lot of videos in my apple library get blocked. Thanks
The only thing wrong with this video is that every song should have its original release or recording date included. I saw a Robert Johnson song, who I believe recorded in the 30s, all the way up thru modern day. Listing the year would be nice.
I like older music a lot more than modern music. I agree with you on the Beatles songs but i think a Selena Quintanilla song would make the list complete and Simon and Garfunkel
Dom Hunt Echoes is not a song. It’s a beautiful 23-minute work of art created to destroy the music industry. My favorite piece - song is too disgraceful to refer to Echoes - is that one, and they should be number one for making everything else seem shitty.
Amazing list! Credit to the maker :-) Just what i needed to finish my math homework ;-) My own list would probably look quite different (i bit more punk!) but still a great list.
My list 1. A Day in the Life - The Beatles 2. Life On Mars? - David Bowie 3. Strawberry Fields Forever- The Beatles 4. God Only Knows - The Beach Boys 5. Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd 6. Paranoid Android - Radiohead 7. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out - The Smiths 8. Love Will Tear Us Apart - Joy Division 9. Shine On You Crazy Diamond - Pink Floyd 10. I was literally crying tears of joy when Steely Dan, Ramblin' Man (Allman Brothers), the Eagles songs, more Queen songs, and the Doobie Brothers showed up on this list. Thanks so much!
What about "How Deep Is Your Love" makes it good enough for the top 100? This video could use explanations for placement/inclusion of the featured songs, 'cuz some of them strain credulity.
1. It's in the top 100 because I believe that's where it belongs, and 2. If you require some objective backup the song set a then-record for most consecutive weeks in the Top 10 (17) and it is also included in Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time
You see? THAT helps. Showing the song is one thing, but actually explaining why it topped a lot of other notable songs gives me a better idea of its importance in music history. Maybe put in some explanations via annotations or info in the description? Otherwise, I think it's a very legit, obviously well-researched list that nevertheless could use explanations.
Also: I saw that list. It didn't make the top 400. I'd have an easier time buying it in the top 100 if there were further critical appraisals for it besides yours and Rolling Stone's. Doesn't mean I necessarily disagree with your putting it there; but a more thorough explanation of its cultural and musical significance would help.
Like I said, it was a record-breaking hit in its day, and I think for good reason. You can learn the same information about all these songs by googling the titles. I researched every one of the songs and then listened to them several times over. It was a fun project that took a lot of time but was rewarding in the end.
I see. It's definitely a neat idea. But your personal perspective on each song is more interesting than just looking up the stats on Google. It's your list after all; you can use other lists, books, and critics as references to the songs' critical and/or commercial success, but hearing why you selected each song is the interesting part (and personal anecdotes, I find, are a lot more interesting than just offering stats and behind-the-scenes stories in lieu of actual explanations for the song's selection; Rolling Stone was bad on this, but NME, while not having a perfect list, at least had good, well-written explanations for why they chose each song as well as interesting info about each).
Nice effort - Thank you very much! :) But: Where are songs of - The Offspring - Roxette - Die toten Hosen - Die Ärzte - (Rammstein) - HIM - Shakira - Dire Straits - Simply Red - Vonda Shepard - Green day - Pink - Anastacia And single songs like - Berlin - Take my breath away - Murray Head - One Night In Bangkok - Falco - Jeanny - Bobby McFerrin - Don't worry, be happy There SHOULD be some (at least) of em in the list, dont you agree?
If you listen very quietly, you can hear the sound of clapping radiating from Michigan! yeah, that's me clapping, this list is eclectic, entertaining, and very well done. There was obviously a lot of thought and time put into this and i am EXTREMELY impressed.
1- american pie 2- let it be 3- stairway to heaven 4- imagine 5 like a rolling stone 6- what's going on 7- hey jude 8- bohemian rhapsody 9- bridge over troubled water 10- the house of the rising sun
Great!!! 2 Brasilian musicians / bands names in the list: Sepultura and Sérgio Mendes. Exception for "All about the bass" (no comments), it's a good list!
awwwww this is back up!!!!!! i'm so glad....thank you......was this the original list that you originally posted a few years ago or did you have to re-fine or change it to avoid copywrite????

I love the fact that, out of all 1000 songs, 70% of the comments talk about #371
That ruined the entire thing.
#379 is Iron Man, by Black Sabbath.
#371 is All About That Bass.
This can't be true. I think that this song is not at that level.
It's a 1000 top, and I respect the effort of create this list, but #371 shouldn't be there.
McBeetles LoL, well this video isnt a top and at the same time it is
My little 11 year old cousin somehow knows all the words and how to play that song(379) on the piano

Wanna hear a joke? #371
WHAT A PIECE OF KRAP !,
It is a good song. Far better than a great many here. Slayer, really.
Ah man. I totally read that in Morpheus's voice. Brought out the seriousness of the situation.
+David Grant Just because YOU aren't a fan of Slayer doesn't automatically mean they shouldn't be listed here. Both of the songs mentioned here have paved the way for heavy metal through the 80's
I gave my opinion and to continue in that vein, heavy metal not good music so whoever "paved the way" should be held accountable.
371 wasn't serious was it lol?
No.
I think this guy is a Beatles fan
FiliandKili13 i think the same but i dont know why
Pechs I think them being the best band of all time have something to do with it
Your mums a Beatles fan 😘
Very good.
The Beatles is forever.
Lol beatles is the best songwriter musician band of all time they should be always number one
I could never make or especially publish a top 1,000 songs list because right after making I would keep coming up with songs that I missed and keep wanting to move songs higher
All About That Bass Shouldn't Be Here
Where is it at
The Music Man too high
***** lol
.
+James Coppolino I wasn't too wild about Katy Perry being above Pink Floyd on the list.
I don't think anyone gets how hard it would be to create a list of best songs because not only is music one of if not the best inventions of all time but also every single person is attracted or repelled by different songs so it is really hard so cut this guy some slack he must of put in heaps of effort
His 7 year old brother actually did all of the work.
I’m doing a top 100 right now and I already know I’ll be remaking it in the future.
Crazy work that you've done. My respect to you.
HOW IS NOVEMBER RAIN NOT ON THE LIST
Ryan Bordner or it could be he doesn't like that song
Ryan Bordner it’s not a cover, axl wrote it
Ryan Bordner its not a cover...

Finally a list with David Bowie! Thanks!
Highly enjoyed watching this sir. Great effort in the list and the video.
I appreciate all the time you made doing this. Thanks.
Some queen fans are extremely toxic, some of them only like queen because they saw the movie
Nick Genatossio thank you for saying some by the way. A lot of people say all Queen fans are toxic which is not true. And I do agree with you 😂.
MrFox5110 yea😂 there are some ACTUAL queen fans from the beginning
what about that bass was higher than Another one bites the dust, Run to the hills, The trooper and Iron Man and Ziggy Stardust, Changes, this is actually insane
Brennen Moore it’s better than Iron by far
@@jackdonohue7893 no just no
@@jackdonohue7893 *than, just no
JD Bond ...you’re an idiot if you ACTUALLY think All About That Bass is better than Iron Man
Higher than This Charming Man by The Smiths.
I told my dad, "Hey dad, do you have 2 hours to spare for a music video?" He gladly complied.
We had a fun time with this video.
Oscar Clarke Very good for you, my friend. It’s always important to spend great quality time with a loved one. I’m glad for you and your dad.
From The Beatles you could have put in this list Nowhere Man, Helter Skelter, Tomorrow Never Knows & There, Here and Everywhere. They are also great, always impresive and classic songs.
where's smooth criminal by Michael Jackson?
There's A LOT of songs by Michael missing on this list lol

Just discovered some great ones, thanks! :)
All about that bass. Really?
you got a problem with that?
Yes, I think I do.
***** I actually dont like it too but I dont hate it. It just annoys me that people are bitching about songs that are not from their era
That song is my era. I am sorry to complain. That was rude of me.
Where is it?
Thanks for all the work you spent on this.
55:56
I love it
Michael MCDonald is one of my absolute favorites
Brilliant song
Thanks for making this great list!
Next you're probably coming out with top 2500!!!
That would be good
Better yet a TOP 100000000
Lol

Literally all the songs are timeless and iconic except #371
My (smaller) list:
15. Kashmir - Led Zeppelin
14. Paranoid Android - Radiohead
13. A Tout Le Monde - Megadeth
12. One - Metallica
11. Paranoid - Black Sabbath
10. Come as you Are - Nirvana
9. Masters Of War - Bob Dylan
8. Shine on you Crazy Diamond - Pink Floyd
7. Come Together - The Beatles
6. Black - Pearl Jam
5. Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd
4. Rooster - Alice in Chains
3. All Along the Watchtower - The Jimi Hendrix Experience
2. Cemetary Gates - Pantera
1. Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin
Props for Paranoid Android but I think Weird Fishes could be there too.
Chernobog I think there are some mainstream songs that might be in a real one, but may I say your taste is brilliant.
Chernobog Them Bones - Alice in chains and also Chop Suey - System of a Down.
We have a metalhead here
Chernobog Changes by Tupac should be there.
Wow, what a list! Very cool covering the last 60 years of music, and love a nod to some classic metal as well. A lot of variety. Thanks for compiling and sharing!
Good songs. My music folder thanks you
Raining Blood? holy shit. this IS a comprehensive list. thank you, thank you, thank you.
2 SLAYER songs!!!!
and Motorhead.
Enjoyed going through your list.

Yep.
1000 songs, respect....great job, music all genres !!!
Fantastic job. Thanks a lot. Is there a written list I could download?
Thank you- that was a long list.
a terrific MIX ..a lot songs mean different THINGS at different TIMES...
Nice to see “New Orleans” at 29:50 or #704 I’m a fan of Gary U.S. Bonds.
Even if I disagree with some choices, it's pretty neat, especially considering how tough it must be to class a top 1000. Good job man :)
Thanks for making this. A lot of variety.
I like the variety of music and the effort you put into making this list. I personally would like it more though if you added the years which the songs came out. Here's my personal top 10 favorite songs in no particular order:
A Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum (1967),
Flying by the Beatles (1967)
All You Need is Love by the Beatles (1967)
Sound of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel (1964)
Fields of Gold by Sting (1993)
Every Breath you Take by the Police (1983)
Nights in White Satin by Moody Blues (1967)
He ain't Heavy, He's my Brother by the Hollies (1969)
Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress by the Hollies (1972)
El Condor Pasa by Simon & Garfunkel (1970)
Wait why Flying out of every Beatles song? Just curious
Sam Feldstein I ACTUALLY used to hate Every Breath You Take but now it’s a good song, lol.
I'm happy to see Andy Gibb on here. He's one of my favorite artists!
I just watched that whole thing and I feel about 10% more American now.
i dont know - why people hit dislike ?! this is very good work and good hard work - to all people dont like this video - dont hit dislike just leave in peace
im so damn happy that like all of the last songs are a majority of my favorite bands/ artists
Amazing video. I’ve been inspired to make my own top 1000, just need to put a video together now. Can I ask how you made this video and what app you used, and didn’t experience any copyright issues, as a lot of videos in my apple library get blocked. Thanks
heart shaped-box????????
Sucks
Overrated compared to other songs by nirvana
Love the soad representation fav band
The only thing wrong with this video is that every song should have its original release or recording date included.
I saw a Robert Johnson song, who I believe recorded in the 30s, all the way up thru modern day. Listing the year would be nice.
Big respect. Everyone has an opinion Bit this list is absoluty great.
This video is a masterpiece. I just can’t stop watching it.
Good, Thanks
I like older music a lot more than modern music. I agree with you on the Beatles songs but i think a Selena Quintanilla song would make the list complete and Simon and Garfunkel
great list. im a big classic rock and classic rap and classic soul fan, and everything is here. And the beatles are the best ever, theres no doubt
Echoes by pink Floyd? In fact pink Floyd is lacking on here in general
Dom Hunt Echoes is not a song. It’s a beautiful 23-minute work of art created to destroy the music industry. My favorite piece - song is too disgraceful to refer to Echoes - is that one, and they should be number one for making everything else seem shitty.
Well done. I loved it.
Wheres Dean Martin?? Frank Sinatra??
+Nicky Vetrano I have a separate vocal/jazz list: ruclips.net/video/uiHSERGB6zA/видео.html

what about darube sandstorm
Sinatra's daughter is on this list

Amazing list! Credit to the maker :-) Just what i needed to finish my math homework ;-) My own list would probably look quite different (i bit more punk!) but still a great list.
This is where Araki comes for inspiration.
Wow - no Garth Brooks or George Strait in the list. I have Michael Jackson's Billie Jean in the top 3.
These Songs From 1920's to 2010's

I was literally crying tears of joy when Steely Dan, Ramblin' Man (Allman Brothers), the Eagles songs, more Queen songs, and the Doobie Brothers showed up on this list. Thanks so much!

Man, I really love these lists! Thank you so much for the hours I've spent watching them!
When all the comments are about the #371 song but they forget that there are others 999 songs to talk about...
In my opinion I think Purple Rain- Prince needs to be higher than at #418.
Yes
jenna cochran and knocking on heaven's door
Nice effort - Thank you very much! :)

- Roxette
- Die toten Hosen

- Murray Head - One Night In Bangkok

lol you could do 10,000 song and people would still be butthurt
Superb list! And I'm only on song 861 lol! Few people have the knowledge to make a list of 1000 songs which spans this kind of diversity.
The order of these songs is totally random. The rank is totally unrelated to their popularity or cultural impact. They might as well used a coin toss.
If you listen very quietly, you can hear the sound of clapping radiating from Michigan! yeah, that's me clapping, this list is eclectic, entertaining, and very well done. There was obviously a lot of thought and time put into this and i am EXTREMELY impressed.
