  • What are the solutions for accessing, researching and applying OEM repair information?
While we've spent this year focusing on the OE websites, we've also been experimenting with Alldata Collision Advantage.
Learn what our months of testing taught us about options for estimators.

Alldata Collision Advantage has proved to be invaluable to our shop. I use it daily to make insurance companies pay us to do it the right way, the first time.

How do you recoup the cost of the Alldata subscription from the insurance companies, or do you not?

Parts BAPC You don’t recoup the subscription cost. You recoup on the proper labor to restore vehicle to its pre accident condition. I have been using it for almost 6 months and we have seen an increase in labor hours billed but more importantly the vehicles are being repaired properly and the liability of having a car drive and lawsuit decreases. Today’s shop need more equipment to meet the challenges of today’s vehicles

@@abdulmohiby1608 and Parts BAPC, ALWAYS bill for the access time and/or a financial line (i.e. $49.95, 1 hr., both, etc.) The majority of facilities do not even look up torque specs for nuts and bolts. If you do anything, bill for it. And remember, we aren't billing insurance companies. We bill the customers. The insurance company owes the customer money, not us.

This is really helpful, thank you. One of my biggest frustrations has been the difficulty finding the information we need to know how to properly repair vehicles.

Hi, is it relevant in other markets also like in India. I would like to know more..

The OE data is based on US platform sold vehicles.
If it happens to be an OE that sells global platform vehicles then it could be very useful.

A couple of ways to look at it.
Take your # of estimates per month and divide that by the $300 fee.
Now what charges and procedures will you learn to charge for now that you have the manual? What's that worth?
Second, many shops charge a flat fee per estimate for research and data

We charge a flat $15 per estimate. Never had a problem with any ins co except Progressive.....and they give me trouble with EVERYTHING.
