      I'm really glad you liked it. I just edited together the bits of video I had filmed as we rode to try and show what the ride was like. It reminded me how beautiful this country is, and how much weather we get!

    Over nine hours on the go and nearly 80 miles, that’s some shift, well done. Not sure I could manage it though I’m on my bike a lot. The video was lovely with all the off road sections etc. I’m curious about how much road riding with traffic was involved. Good luck with the next stage.

      There was quite a lot of riding on roads, but most of that was on very quiet roads, usually part of the National Cycle Network. Where busy main roads were part of the route there was almost always a cycle path. One of the reasons why this route is longer than many other LEJOG routes is the detours taken to avoid busy roads; another reason is the detours taken to join up with some great cycle paths on old railways, forest paths, canal paths or redundant roads that were traffic free and very pleasant riding.
