I find it interesting that Igeyorhm came from that period of time before the first calamity. I like to think it may be a more advanced time than we realize, with many people descended from individuals who retained their memories as ancients.
This was an interesting video to make. The subject matter has always fascinated me as its rarely referenced in-game. But the making of the video itself proved to be the most interesting part. I wrote a scrip and recorded it, but as I edited the vocals I felt like it wasn't up to scratch so I redid the script and recording. I also changed the method of how I recorded it and I have become aware of something. Many years ago, my accent which was a standard one for a Dubliner morphed into what it is now. I realised something when I did a simple script recording. I tried to talk like I was excited which is when my Dublin accent comes out. When I did this my speech impediment started to disappear. So for this video I tried to supress my current accent and recover my original Dublin one, which is something you may notice in the video as I unintentionally bounce between the two. The result was I didn't stress my ssss as much. This has become a project of mine to recover my old accent and is something ill be working on in future videos. Anyway rant over, happy Friday and I hope you enjoy the video! Ill be making one more this month before Christmas.
The Flood of Darkness was not a rejoining. It was an attempt at one that failed catastrophically, which is about the same as saying getting struck out is technically getting a home run
Great work compiling this history together! I love delving into lesser-realized history in XIV! I mean this with utmost kindness, but a spoiler warning for screenshots used from 7.0 content might be friendly for those who are watching this expecting historical content?
Actually we have an idea of how long it's been since the sundering. We are told its around 12,000 years. I forget where exactly this number comes from, but we are given an estimate.
personally was even more curious of the days all the way back before ancients, but guess it's not possible & that would be used as the very starting point of history's origin to how Etheirys exists. & even then, there's already great difficulty to find any kind of great details regarding earliest eras before those calamities.
We get single sentence references from time to time but I do not recall an official timeline breakdown of these eras in-game. Do you recall where you saw this?
@ sorry, maybe wrong use of words. But they’re a rough estimate. 12000 years. One source is from the records in the Watcher’s Palace. The Loporrits have a record of how long they worked since the Sundering. Second is Oschon in Thaleia. He says they all have been doing their role for the star and mankind for 12000 years. Also several entries in the Unending Codex. I forget which because I don’t have it immediately on hand.
@@acgearsandarms1343 I wondered where that 12000 number came from, I must have missed that. I guess I should have referenced the dialog notes I took from Myths of the Realm. Nice catch you have a great memory!
@ Thank you. I sort of see this as a double edged sword though. They have enough room to work with the lore by being vague of events within those millennia, but now have to work within that timeframe.
Bread = Progress which leads to Magic ..... Welp, time to invest in yeast so I can thunderga my electricity bill to zero Thanks for teaching me Math, Wyrm
@@WyrmLimion Did your friends use magic to get the bread, the bread that is responsible for the discovery of magic? In all seriousness ... Just how important do you think the act of _Faith_ is to the current use of magic? Is the feeling that a Faith/belief grants the catalyst or is it something else? Of course with suffcient aether/crystals to perform the spell too, but other than that part of the recipe.... What is it that got left behind from OG Ascian "Creation Magicks" that we are tapping into to cast spells. And why do some have more, and some have none (Garleans)

Need part 2! Loved this!
Thanks for that!
I am considering the prospect but I have other ideas I wanna explore first.

Nice video randomly popping up in my feed. Thank you for sharing the knowledge from your XIV encyclopaedia.
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Technically the second rejoining the first was a complete disaster resulting in the void
I originally had it added in with script one, but chose to write the final one based on the viewpoint of Etheirys.
Can it even be called one if it failed to rejoin anything?

It didn’t rejoin. It wasn’t successful so it wasn’t the first to rejoin, only first in attempt.
I started calling the period between the Sundering and the First Umbral Calamity, the Primitive Era. Prehistoric Era would also work I guess!

There is a spoiler alert at the beginning.

I would love if they covered that in my detail one day.
But I suppose that can be done when we go back in time again.
How the ancient race came to be.
Did they evolve to become perfect beings or were they already born to be such
Didn’t we get an official timeline from in game sources from the time of the Sundering?

Bread is life, and as my friends would say before each raid pull... "Lets get that Bread!"
