Once i heard a story on RUclips where a man had stayed in a cabin out in the wilderness far from the light and warmth of civilization. As he was sleeping he thought he heard the sound of something scratching around on the roof. At first he thought it was snow falling off the roof or a racoon so he didn't think anything of it. Then when the sounds continued he got up. He headed to the front porch door but as he was about to turn on the light to see if anything was out there something inexplicable told him that if he did he wouldn't survive the night. So he went back to bed. In the morning he found what looked like bare foot prints in the front porch deck. When he told this story to his friends they all had a good laugh at his experience. One if his friends was very serious when he told him he had just survived an encounter with the wendigo.

Yes! Thank you. The Wendigo is a disembodied spirit that possess people not some cryptic with antlers.

A lot of people easily confuse Wendigo with another cryptid called a Wenchuge. Like wendigo, they possess an insatiable hunger, mimicking voices, horrendous smell, tall heights, some animalistic appearances. However they unlike wendigo have antlers or deer skulls like heads. If you played the game until dawn and listened to the origin stories of the Algonquin tribes, they perfectly describe what Wendigo are and look like. However legends of the Wenchuge are told not by the Algonquin but the Athabaskan tribes

I think Until Dawn did a pretty good interpretation of the Wendigo?

@HunhowRiley I have read the Algonquin myths. The wendigo is just their word for what we call a demon. It is a disembodied spirit that possess people then attacks and consumes other people. Just as our demons do. These beings are real not fantasy creatures for a monster manual.

A wendigo is a cannibalistic evil spirit. They'll likely take any form to get you to submit to your fears. It's so cute how people think it's so black and white.

Inexplicably articulate and yet, intelligibly written story, accompanied with your nearly flawless narration - is certainly one of the best out there. Keep it going!

Now that was the best re-telling of a historic Wendigo story I have ever heard. I have heard / read this many times, but this captured the story from a totally different perspective giving it a whole new level of creepiness! ❤❤ love your writing, love your narration!

No matter how old, evil, kind or powerful it is, it is still just a trapped soul only to escape this world once it dies, maybe it will be free once it dies, maybe it will be trapped somewhere else for another eternity, I guess we will find out after we die...

So who is the original author? Are you the author, or was this submitted to you through your email?
Who is the composer and performer for the background music?
Who is the artist for the images you used in the videos? Are they AI generated? If so, which AI did you use to create these photos?

I adapted and wrote the story, it’s loosely based on true events. The music I put together from sound loops I purchased from Ghosthack. I use Midjourney for the images.
