ever fix it ? a good way to fix the lifter noise is to take out about a quart of oil and put atf if and run for 20 min at idle let cool run again same way then drain put new filter and oil in that's what I did to solve my lifter problem may or may not work in you case just an idea .
it actually ended up not being a lifter noise. a common problem on the earlier M60 BMW V8s is the oil pump bolts weren't torqued properly from the factory and have a tendency to back out. dropped the pan and found 3 bolts that loosened up, tightened them all down with loc-tite and the noise went away
Hello !!
Sounds the same like my m60! what i have to do please?
how to solve this problem?
Sounds like my N62. I'm actually happy to say this because I was afraid I bought a car with a bad piston/cylinder.
sounds like my n62.im removing valve covers to check lifters .
***** Make sure you replace the valve cover gaskets while you're in there.
+Ghos7N54 I'm afraid it's oil bolts now after 4 hours of removing valve cover ticking noise coming from drivers side only
***** Atleast you were able to narrow it down to just one side.
+Ghos7N54 lol
