Been thinking I'll do a 8x8x6(from buying 2 4x4x6 kennels to add the dog house) and this is the best idea I've seen on the internet, I will try for a 10x10 deck and figure out how to make a roof that covers it...90% of my problem solved, Thank you for a outstanding video

Just want to let you know that I am taking your idea lol. I am building a bigger deck for my kennel but will follow your instructions since they were very clear and can do this by myself.
I would add more floor support and raise it about where if you have to clean under you can. You can also buy 2 kennels and make one big one. These kennels are good for day kenneling and holding temporarily.
quick, Inexpensive, looks great, definitely passes "wife approval". Alternative to blocks or concrete.

How do you control odor in your kennels? Pee and poop eventually will get into wood..
This is an old settup but we washed down our kennels 3 times a day. The new setups have a plastic floor panel or concrete. For the odor we haver sealed buckets for the poop.

@@CaonaBullys Thank you again, however, I did not mean the bracket to floor screws, I meant the bracket to kennel frame screw. I want to build a catio instead and need to attach several things to the frame. I always thought self-drilling screws only for hollow metal, but I see you using something else. I am a female who is clueless!

It was a solid pad. Held up good.
Amazon has reviews saying it was easily destroyed by medium sized dogs. I have German shepherds. Do you think it is strong enough? My dog has pushed through chain link before.
It's still surviving Kong. No issues yet.

The weeds wont grow without sunlight and water. Everything under the deck is dead.
Cool, I think I'm going to use your foundation design as a base for a walkway im doing. On top of the 2x6s im going to put some of those snap-together decorative tiles. Much easier than pouring concrete I think..

The concrete slab will be better and easier to clean.

Question...at 1:40, what if I wanted to use just crossbeams, to support the 2x6s, but no 2x4s on the sides? Also, how far can I span the 2x6s, before they'll bow under the weight? Your span is 5 ft here right, I'm wondering of I could try 8 ft? Or do u think I'll need to keep it shorter. Thanks.
I think I should have used more cross beams. Should of used another 2 beams to support the floor better. It's a little bouncy. Another 2 2x4s on each side of the center in would of done it. Doesn't bounce much with the dogs but when I step in to clean I feel it. The front can go out a lil more bit eith the right center support.

Hmm, I have a 75 lb dog and some of the reviews on Amazon saying the wire is too lightweight. So now I'm not sure. I mean I guess I could build it with chain link panels also if I had to.
I've used these kennels for 3 years. I haven't had any issues with them.

Why have a pet to just put it in a pen? The pen is well made but still a pen. The dogs outside the cage seem happy and calm.
Didn't your mom put you in a play pen when you were a toddler? Was she a bad mom for that? Or did she just need a place you down in a safe spot where you can play with your toys while she cleaned up after you or made you your favorite meals? Or maybe she just needed me time to recharge.. Please don't make comments as if putting a dog in a safe kennels is a bas thing. We have 13 dogs that we care for and they are all very happy.
