I don't have the skills to analyze it, but as far as I understand the modulations, how he subtly raises the tone, the versatility of this voice, apart from the charm of humm hahaha, he's a phenomenon is impressive.❤
D.O is blowing our minds lately. I don't think he has ever flexed his vocal abilities this much. I honestly was thinking he was paving his way to acting and he would stop singing little by little. Thank god he built his own agency and he is fully dedicated to music!!!
In my opinion Kyungsoo had two passions: singing and acting. I think at the beginning of his acting career Kyungsoo might’ve seen acting as a means to cope with the reality of seeing his members, Kris, Luhan, and Tao leaving the group/company one after the other and with all the craziness that comes with being idols. During that time it must have been hard for him to see Kris, Luhan, and Tao going through hard times and not being able to help nor make headway with management. Not only Kyungsoo, but the other members must have felt powerless as well. No one can say that Kyungsoo gave the bare minimum when it came to the group and singing. I still remember seeing various videos of him attending promotional events for both his dramas and EXO without complaining nor missing any events. Sometimes I even got worried for him because some events where back to back without any time for him to rest.
Just like IU, he has passion for singing and acting.

I think he's being flexing since day 1. Afterall, he & baekhyun who incharge of high notes during exo-K era right. It just that since they merged the group, Chen took most of the high notes. But for me, flexing not just about hitting high notes. His low voice resonance is 👍
In my opinion, what distinguishes Kyungsoo as a vocalist is not only the extraordinary timbre of his voice, technical skills and great musicality, but also the ability to express the emotions and atmosphere of the song..

This is one that I can keep listening to over and over again. The way that Kyungsoo is able to put such emotion into his voice leaves me shook.
D.O. is a master of moving tone between tone. It's natural
I do not know anything about vocal techniques but I do know that each time I hear him sing, his singing will touch me and resonate in my heart. I can tell that he has great techniques but it is also the emotions that he triggers in his listeners that amazes me. The first time I listened to About Time, I didn't know the meaning of the lyrics but the raw emotions that he emote when he sung was so painful. After I read the translated lyrics, I was amazed how he managed to convey those exact correct emotions just through his voice.

Everytime he cover or sang a song he sang it like he own it. The emotions, the clarity, he's indeed a raw and amazing vocalist that most think it's auto tune when it's not.

First time I heard, I had goosebumps. By now it’s like the nth time and I can’t really get enough of this song. As you said pure vocals.. Kyungsoo is a phenomenal singer. And so is IU. And there blend is so powerful yet so soft. No one over powering the other. Like they were meant to sing like this.
I need to see Kyungsoo LIVE, on my bucket list. I also need to see him LIVE in a musical. Can you imagine how amazing that would be. I will be in heaven!!!

I'm not an expert when it comes to audio but i'll believe my ear in this one, he didn't use autotune. He is good and this is one of his best performance, I think.
And I love the ability that he's able to express with his voice. I now Korean next to nothing and have almost zero romance in my life until now but his voice can make me feel many kinds of emotions.

Yes there is auto tune here. All Korean shows have it, but even so, D.O is one of the best vocalists in kpop and imo the most unique vocal tone male vocalist in kpop. Definitely the best in EXO.
I don't think the IU palette has autotune, it has a background track but not autotune only live raw vocals and even so who knows kyungsoo will know that he adds those little trills and those little crys at the end of each phrase of an acoustic yet soft song to give it more emotion, his agility is beyond anyone in kpop and I say this because I heard many singers from Gen-2 till Gen-5 and nobody has that kind of agility as kyungsoo so he has that quality within him which makes him so different than others also his vocal timbre is so beautiful that you cannot help but listen to it continuously.

DO. It's phenomenal! I don't think that the perfection in singing those notes is post-production, I have heard Kyungsoo live on different occasions, and he has always stood out for his precision when singing. He has impeccable talent and enviable technique.

HI! I was waiting for you to post the whole video yey! Kyungsoo's vocals for me is my absolute favorite. I agree, some group songs are so overly produced and its too bad because they have lovely vocals too and they're being buried from too much instrumentation. By the way if that is your jam, then Kyungsoo's albums are for you. they are mostly acoustic, or with basic instruments to accompany his voice which is really the highlight of all his music. hope you can react also to his rendition of Falling like the stars. Recommended solo music: Lost, About Time and My Dear. but the rest of the songs are also highly recommended too. You wont regret it! Thank you for this!

Yes, there is definitely some post-processing to touch up the sound. Very common, but it doesn't mean they can't sing (obv, its I.U and D.O = vocal kings and queens). I won't be delulu and think this is how they would sound in an acoustic setting. And even if there is autotune, its clearly minimal and natural as its pretty obvious if someone can't sing it would sound robotic.
I don't think the IU palette has autotune, it has background track but not autotune, both IU and D.O are known to have that acoustic quality that they can deliver phenomenal vocals on point, just see D.O's live from concerts and various shows also lee mujin service you and IU's album live version you will know they are just magnificent.
