      yoooo 1st great videos man. 2nd ... i am thinking about, well before moving there just having a little vacation and then maybe extending the stay, is 500 dollars / 15,000 baht enough to live there? these prices i see on airbnb are so insanely low, it really is incredible, then other then rent say 200 dollars what you got left is food and then entertainment and done... so is 15k baht / 500 dollars enough? i know that around 1,200 dollars is def beyond enough

      He obvious has a live in girlfriend. If the pink shower cap in the bathroom or high heel shoes under the bed weren't a give-a-way, just look at all the clothes, bathroom products, etc. Not many guys who shave their head need a pink shower cap.

    One of the things I really miss about this city is how easy it is to find a place to stay. So many no contract, cheap and decent options also with cheap or included weekly cleaning.
    One of my favorite aspects of my times in Thailand is how simple everything is compared to my home (California)

    I'm sick of the corona crap...need to get home to BKK. Currently locked out in my work apartment in another country. I used to live Chiang Mai with my wife, we used to live opposite the Convention Centre and loved it. If it wasnt for the air pollution we would have moved back. Enjoy and thanks.

    Hey, Brett. I like the way you present Chiang Mai. You show the real picture of it. Talking about it, I got pretty interested in getting to know about your teacher friend. Does he support himself only with the online income of his lectures? You should organize something really deep on this theme, including numbers! I'd rather learn about this from you than from those giggling-too-excited-adjective-addicted youtubers settled down in Chiang Mai. Can't be bothered to waste my time forwarding their videos like squeezing an orange to find something. Take care, mate.

    The Thai Government electric rate is supposedly set at 4B per unit. I'm curious as to why certain condos are charging 8-10B per unit. Any ideas? Seems like foreigners are getting a resoundingly raw deal, and either supplementing landlord income, or lining condo staff pockets,. Nice little earner for a shabby receipt.

    • @brett_dev
      @brett_dev  4 года назад +1

      Your bang on. It's illegal to charge more than government rate but they put it down as community electric for lobby etc. Standard condo rate is about 8b. I'd never pay above that.

    CM has horrible transportation. If you don't have a car or scooter you're at the mercy of songtaew.Huge numbers of people die or are injured in scooter accidents. Thais like to drink so beware that you may die as a victim in a traffic accident. There's almost no public transport. Whatever there is has no schedule and buses are not running at this time. The best place to live in CM is within walking distance of food markets. Or places to eat if you don't cook. Forget cheap prices, always go for location. If location allows you to walk that's where you want to live. I hate songtaew and tuk tuks. Grab is too expensive to use all the time.
