I know it is rarely mentioned but Jerry West was a player that if not carefully guarded would pour in 40 points!!!! Barnett did a great job in "containing" West. My friends and I watched the games very carefully so we could see how each Knick contributed to each victory!!!!
Hollywood needs to do a sports movie on the Champion New York Knicks!! Diverse smart mix of basketball players that figured out how to play together as a team righr after the civil rights of the 60s!!!
Barnett,Frazier, Bradley,Willis Reed.Jerry Lucus,Dave Debush(however you spell it),John Gianelli,Dean Memminger,Hawthorne Wingo and others that i cant remember as i was a big knicks fan in the 70's under coach Red.Sorry 4 any misspelling as i lived and still do in Mississippi but loved the the Knicks. Also Phil Jackson.
I emulated when when I was a teen during the 1960's. Tried to shoot the ball while kicking my legs back like Barnett. Many years later, when I became a Manhattan bus operator, he would board my bus a few times and I wanted to greet him bus his demeanor clearly indicated that he didn't want to be bothered. Not a friendly guy at all.
"FAll. Back Baby" with the sweet jump shot with the legs kicking up .
May GOD bless him

Jerry lamented the Lakers giving him up.
Master of personal reinvention. A great inside out lefty dribble and a phenomenal defender.
Love the old school unis
Fall back baby
Thank you, I would never heard of DR. Barnett without COVID19. This video was 100% worth watching.

Those were the days when basketball was a team game.
Gary’s very own❤️💪🏾🏀🔥 madd respect for you doc
When we were in middle school, early early 70's, we imitated that jumper. What's not talked about was his one handed foul shot.

Dr. Barnett belongs in the Naismith Hall of Fame - no doubt! Yeah, his jump shot was funny except to the dudes that had to cover him.
He’s finally in the Hall of Fame!! Congratulations Dr. Barnett from a Laker fan!!!!

You wouldn't be too pleasant having to ride a hot public transportation bus.
I used to try to kick my legs like that when I took a jumper. I didn’t have as much success with it.
The Knicks defeated The Lakers in five games in 1973. Not in seven.
