When #Porsche introduced the all-new #Macan in 2015, it took the role as the most affordable Porsche in the North American lineup. Sales took off and the #PorscheMacan has quickly become the best-selling vehicle in the portfolio with nearly 25,000 sales every year. For 2019, the #Macan gets a slight refresh with a new look inside and out.
Good evening guys! The comparison test between the Macan and Stelvio is not actually live yet but it should be going live very soon, stay tuned for that. Hope you all have a great weekend and thanks for watching! :)

Redline Reviews Can you do some more night drives pls
I have 2 questions.
1. Hydrogen vehicles or electric?
2. What got you into reviewing cars?
Keep it up. Yure my favourite auto youtuber. Yure giving the boys over at tfl a run for their money
And the rpm score is dethrning the dougscore. Keep it up.

A review on Toyota Camry TRD V6 and Avalon TRD V6.
The 4 cyl. seems responsive enough for most people except the very die hard enthusiast. One would have to determine if spending thousands more for the 6 cyl. Is really worth it in the U.S. markets where speed limits, even on the highways can be painfully slow. The interior is so much nicer and sportier than in the Q-5. The Q-5 is tuned more for family use as well as it's design cues while the Macan is more sport oriented. I personally like the Macan better than the Q-5 and may get one soon. Good review.
After searching for a new vehicle for my wife, this is what we bought. He's not just talking it up, drive one and the others, you'll see why!
2:35 in the backgroung you can see an Alfa romeo stelvio, Sofyan just spoiled us his porsche replacement daily driver !!
No, it's going to be a comparison video!!
@@rahl.7235 i think ur right cuz later he even said his cayman was in the garage!
Just bought a 19 Macan S about 2 months ago, great car. Also great review!
Nobody seems to make a note of the fact that this is the only model in its class that allows you to adjust temperature, fan speed, and vent selection independently for driver and front passenger for the climate control. That's why there are so many buttons on the center console. I'm pretty sure Audi and BMW only allows you to adjust two of the three, but I could be wrong. I'm pretty sure it's standard on the base Macan.
Optional Steering Wheel
*Extra $740*
Check the window sticker...the exhaust fart is likely an extra cost option. It IS a Porsche after all.
Bob Herrmann It’s not. It’s the normal stock exhaust. This isn’t the extra cost exhaust system and you can tell because if it is the extra cost exhaust system the exhaust would be a quad exhaust with 4 circles. I know because our Macan has it.
MCR Photography I think bob was being facetious there 😆
I‘ve had 2 in my lifetime and the options bloat at Porsche is no joke at all. The options are also basically all that depreciates on them. The smartest shopper, though not the preferred one, is the driver who skips all the vanity options and gets the go-fast stuff. (Get sport-chrono, and an upgraded differential in the cars that offer it, buy the seat heating/cooling ale carte and then move away from the order sheet :-) ). Then they only really get to rob you when you go for service.
Guess what..Its not PORŠA its PORŠE !!! Fucking burgers and their making of language.
I always smile when I see you upload a video!
First car ever seeing Sofyan reviewing a BASE-MODEL vehicle! Wow!!!
Nafis Ahmed I can appreciate that!!
Let’s goo Redline is back.... I love ya guys ❤️
I like that you put the specs up in the beginning
Great review. I was wondering how the 4 cylinder engine preformed.
I hope the roomer is wrong or they change their mind. For EVs to be more accepted, we need to change the infrastructure and have quick charging times that is comparable to filling up at a gas station. It might be short sighted for Porsche to make their top selling SUV into an EV. Maybe better for a hybrid.
Yes SUVs have become the main vehicle for traveling. But that is because the price of gas is somewhat low. Once the price of gas teachings $4 a gallon people will get sedans and small cars.
Why do you need extra 100 hp if base model can do 0-60 in 6.2 seconds. That’s pretty quick for SUV and plenty of power. Are you in a race track?
Go for the S at a minimum. I got a Macan Sport 4 cyl as a loaner and the engine is outclassed by everything else about the car. S engine is excellent, especially with a Cobb Accessport tune and PSE. Smooth, powerful, and sonorous.
I disagree. I find the S engine to be under-whelming, and it's a gas guzzler. The base engine is not that much worse than the S V6 engine, seriously. I did a lot of testing of both before deciding to save my money and buy the base Macan. (And I'm used to driving a 462-hp Porsche, for context.)
5:59 " The car looks like a key" , you actually meant - the key looks like a car...
Yes!! I was waiting so long for this!
Other brands: "You want your car in white? That'll be $500."
Porsche: "You want your car in white? For $500? Well, how about this? I'll paint your key white for that price."
nodody is talking about the license plate having uwu on it
I was looking for someone to say something
No dody, no dody.
Remember "new" for Porsche just means very slightly revised in most instances lol! Dont fix what isnt broke!
I'm 50/50 with updates unless it was a legit one. Honda and no volume knob was a super needed one.
@@t436 that's a for sure need!! 😂 some car companies do really good at simple tweaks for exterior and porsche is for sure that company. Other companies are very good at subtle interior changes! Most of them much needed due to consumer complaints 😂
I love how porsche is going. Tiny updates to keep it fresh, but timeless design
My parents just bought one. It’s nice.
This car shows the wisdom of buying a sparsely equipped Porsche, one model up. The S with just a few options would come in under this price and have another 100 hp. Admittedly that is a car one would have to order, not merely pick out from dealer stock though.
Would you get the premium package? Would you get nice red leather heated and ventilated seats? Would you get keyless entry? 19 or 20-inch wheels with hot rims? If so... S is fine. Just 100hp without internal comforts will only enhance pleasure on special outings. For regular fun driving in a city or fairly crowded highway, Base with perks for 15k less seems better than getting hp you are tantalized to use but really can't. Now if you're hauling crap or going up hills, then Yes, S all the way!
Those wheels look terrible on the Porsche configurator, but in this video look really nice.
i think it's because they're the cheaper wheels so they purposefully make them look worse to make ppl want the higher ones (i've noticed the same in benz configurators too)
shaurya great point
I think that the cheaper wheels look better than the more-expensive wheels in Porsches. They are also cheaper to maintain (the smaller wheels) and get better gas mileage because they weigh less, and they are safer because of higher sidewalls and give better ride quality. I don't get the big-wheels craze at all.
The fuel economy figures are wrong btw. But it is wierd how the Q5 with almost same power train gets better mpg
For a 4 cylinder, the sound is surprisingly good.
Those headlights are bright even on phone.
Please use "premium", that premium increases a typical 15K a year cost by $450 (750 gallons x additional 60 cents per gallon) , so does one need to spend additional $40/month for a 248HP vehicle? It's not like people just forget to use premium gas, but they don't like spending extra money for a relatively low HP vehicles. (Of course, diesel vehicle with two times the mpg and price comparable to regular gas would take care of this extra gas expense.)
Actually, most 2019 base Macan owners (myself included) find that this vehicle gets 28-30 mpg on the highway (especially with ACC) -- way better than the Macan S gets (low 20s). And the Macan S isn't that much better acceleration-wise than the base Macan, seriously, to warrant the extra expenditure in cost. The base Macan is plenty fast. Better to spend the extra $9k on options like ACC and LCA, or even save money. (Also, FWIW, Porsche recommends not letting the car get over 4000 rpms for the first 2k miles of driving; I see that you have been pushing this loaner car to 5k, 6k, and 7k rpms quite a bit with only around 200 miles on the odometer. That's why I only like to buy new cars.). As for your negative comment about this base Macan not being a "good value", I think you're wrong there, on two counts: (a) I think it's about the best vehicle you can buy for $50k base price (I got mine without the pano roof and paid around $54k after discounts), and (b) Macans are known to hold up value extremely well, for trade-in or re-sale (much better than most other cars in this price range). And, no, Porsche said they will keep the gas version of Macan for some time after introducing both an EV Macan and a PHEV Macan in 2-3 years. And, dude, put some pants on over your pink underwear!
I can agree with some points, but 54k is a harsh price tag. That is XC60 T8 territory after rebates. The pink underwear 🤦♂️😂😂
@@DMCarReviews Indeed, the only competition for me in buying my Macan was from Volvos... I'm just not impressed with the small battery pack (10 kWh) of the current T8 PHEVs, and the Volvos aren't nearly as fun to drive...
You are absolutely correct. 23/28 minimum
I prefer putting the dollars in upgrading the base model instead of adding horsepower with the “S” model.. The only difference is performance vs comfort and appearance. A bunch of options (larger wheels, keyless entry, leather, 14 way seats etc.) can be purchased for what Porsche charges just to add horsepower that most people won’t use in their daily drive. Remember that paying those extra thousand of dollars only gives you the extra horsepower. Any and all options are additional dollars.
I like almost everything about Porsche except price.
Oh! High prices are actually selling point. People want it because
YOU cannot afford it.
Thank you for making such a nice informativ videos
Weird when I was just looking for Macan reviews 😂😂😂
synchronicity
Those gauges look like they are off a 2014 rav4. No idea why anyone would choose those over a volvo or audi.
Well, I chose Porsches three times in the past few years over Volvos in part because the Volvo gauges are so crappy ... The Volvos don't even have an engine-temp gauge any more.
I understand the reason why Porsche uses Audi’s Q5 engine for the base model but I think they must have added an electric engine to help the car for fuel efficiency and 0-60 time. Especially if they are considering to make next generation Macan all electric.
Interesting how a Porsche badge can charge so much more. There was a car called Touareg Hybrid, 380 hp, quicker 0-60, 21/23 mpg, more interior room, more cargo room, 7700lbs towing capacity, on the more premium platform of the VW-Audi family, and costs the same when new after dealer premium on the Macan and dealer discounts on the Touareg...
Great video! Keep up the great work!
New subscriber - You are my favorite vehicle reviewer. Very awesome. Finally subscribed. You do an excellent job.
Great comprehensive review. Subbed.
So very much hate the key fob. Ridiculous. Love the 11 inch screen even w/o android and yea, very busy.
Good in depth review. Liking the new Redline. Thanks.
Now we know where the 2020 Ford Escape designers got their..."inspiration" from.
?
The 2020 Escapes looks more like a Sportage
If this was the inspiration for the 2020 Escape, Ford really messed it up!
Those are a LOT of buttons... I feel like it should’ve all been touch screen. Beautiful car!
Ney for the touch sensitive display. Buttons are so intuitive to select without looking at them as you get used to where they are. 👍
Awesome opening shot 👌
Another great review!😎👍🏾
I was surprised at how much room there is under the hood. Is it possible that this is an easy-to-fix Porsche?
No. No it isn't.
It is if you have a fat wallet.
We found the only person on earth who likes the old taillights better.
Nice but should have way better gas mileage for a high end truck
I got the key colors for free, it is detachable like to plastic pieces on each side of the key.
I think people like the better visibility of SUV’s over sedans. Many new sedans have some darn terrible visibility especially in the rear.
DSTY not really for visibility, more for higher seating position, easier ingress and hatchback door
Porsche Macan $49,900. With options. $100,000. :P
My gold digger aunt has one and a s class Benz.
007 I have too much money. What’s her number?
Working on your back does have benefits.🤨🤨
Can you explain how does your aunt "gold dig"?
Jack Liu her husband is old and rich and she is young with no job but goes on expensive cruise and shopping trips. She cheated over 5 times and he still takes her back. Now she has a Porsche as a birthday gift.
They're both getting something out of it then, aren't they? He's old and he's getting someone younger, probably way out of his league, looks wise. She shouldn't be cheating on him though. I'd kick her to the curb for that.
Love the power train specs PowerPoint type slide. 👍
Nice SUV! I love the non-LCD odo and tach!
I think porsche makes on of the best designs on their models with out screwing it up, like the 911 the cayenne etc.
Im waiting for New 2020 Explorer review. Wondering what you have to say.
Its coming up very soon!
Hi Sofyan,
Your reviews are amazing and to the point!
I saw you have a WRX CVT review. If possible, could you please do a review for WRX Manual transmission? Thanks.
Get a Deagy already, and measure the 0-60 times😊 18:33 Ugh, that brake squeak.
Sooo not necessary. He always quotes the 0-60 stat anyways and 99.9% of buyers aren't going to the track so who gives a shit if it's off by tenth of a sec.
@@theMLBfan All he does is just quote random numbers (which aren't even the actual numbers most of the time). If he wants this channel to be more legit, he needs to do performance testing. Those who don't care about all this, don't even watch this. They go, and buy cars they like😂
So it runs on the VAG MLB AWD platform, with the corporate 2.0T motor, but runs a staggered wheel setup like more traditional Porsches.. hmmm.. I thought back in the day you weren't supposed to run Quattro/synchro cars with staggered wheels, but that was a while ago so I'm guessing this isn't running a torsen center diff
0-60 6.3 sec with248hp AWd 2.0 T why mpg is so low? Should uld be little better on gas.
Brakes already screaming, Wow!!!!
Entire dash looks from a generation or 2 ago, same as the instrument panel. Looks like they just slapped on that wide screen infotaintment system to make it look current.
I guess you don’t know Porsche.
This car doesn’t have the sport chrono package but it has the sport chrono clock on the dash? I Am VERY Confused.
I don’t care that it’s a “base” model, a company like Porsche shouldn’t even offer this or any of its other vehicles with the 2.0T set up from the A4. No reason to get this base model over one of the cheaper VAG models except for the badge.
Why are they offering an SUV at all, by that logic? You think these cars hold a candle to 2 doors for the rush? S owners delude themselves if they think their extra 100hp suddenly gives them a race track feel.
very base macan vs rdx A-Spec what would you chose?
I would take the RDX for sure, I just hate base cars. I drove the Aspec and it's fun to drive.
Kostiantyn Savostin on a lease I’d choose the Macan, on a purchase definitely the rdx.
@@_Mario_PL_ That RDX is ugly inside and out!
Infiniti QX50.
@@retgi1 That's your opinion. To me the Macan looks off from some angles too.
I'm not even into SUVs or crossovers, but the RDX is the better choice here. Looks aside because that's for the buyer to decide which one looks good.
At this price point I'd get an Audi A5 Sportback, it's practical and low to the ground and I'm sure you'll have just as much space inside and MUCH better driving experience. That's just me 🤷♂️
What sucks about Porsche is the spot that you need to stick the key in! That's so old school.
I agree that key hole sucks. My cars 2011 and 2015 have keyless entry/ start.
Still want one though…
Maybe it is because is am a finance guy - but I can’t figure why anyone would spend the money for one of these. There are many better values in out there
Ikr. This is completely disposable
Hello all,
I want to buy one but not sure which year and which trim level I should get. If someone can suggest from their personal experience that will be really appreciated.
Thanks.
Most of people here haven't tried Macan properly and can't even afford one, and say it's bad or like Audi blahhh~~~
Awesome review!
Q5 or Macan? IS it worth the extra $10k?
I have a cla amg. When my lease is up I’m getting a macan s 😈🏎
Excellent presentation... will go with the 3.0 model ; )
23 mpg highway? It sounds more like 3.0l turbo specs. It's can't be 2.0l turbo. Probably a mistake?
2.0 turbo from their website:
City
19 MPG
Highway
23 MPG
Combined
21 MPG
3.0 turbo
City
18 MPG
Highway
23 MPG
Combined
20 MPG
Tim but that makes so little sense. My old BMW N54 3.0 300hp/300lbft gives 17/25. Even after tunning it to stage 2 (380hp/420lbft), it didn’t sacrifice the efficiency much. Does Porsche 2.0 feels so good and torque? But anyway, even if so, the numbers look horribly mismatched
Macan vs Tesla model Y performance. That would be great matchup.
The macan will not stand a chance
Best sounding 4 cylinder suv I’ve ever heard 👍
That's the same 2.0T from VW. You can get a GTI, and it will sound the same.
Dima K yes it is the same core engine, but this one uses different combustion technology Porsche enhanced, of course they are not going to use exact same engine VW uses, those sound like crap after 50k miles.
@@Nimbus_2k When does the engine sound change with mileage?
I think Sofyan said that his own car is the Cayenne. Is that true? Why did Sofyan choose a Cayenne?
Has anyone noticed the Porsche designlines in the newer Tesla models?
Is it okay to brake load a PDK at launch? There's no torque converter to absorb and release energy.
The base is probably good enough, it's not like the S is "hardcore"
Agreed.
It’s a great car 👍🏻👍🏻
So I am curious if you sold your cayman already. I own both the R and the Macan and I would say the R gives more fun.
East Wood whats r ?
East Wood VW Golf R.
This guy has recently acquired an R as well. That’s why he is selling his Cayman.
Not sure why it’s MPG is that bad. Having owned the same engine in a new A5 it’s in the high 20s, low 30s. Heck my new S4 is mid 20s!
How much extra for the car farts? I thought you were going to say "this puts a fart on my face".
The taillights look too big compared to the size of the vehicle
FYI, the map DOES do satellite imagery.
Your reviews need a better camera! I love your reviews but the picture quality is lacking a little bit. It's not bad, but it's not great either. I hope this gets to you Redline Reviews!
Great base setup
Get the 6 for sure.
Yes, for that rush on an empty highway in the middle of nowhere.
Is it really worth the money, about 15 to 20k higher then other sport SUV's, similarly specked out.
That it up to the buyer. Obviously some do and some don't. That is what freedom of choice is all about.
We bought it, a lot of fun, very nicely built, great certified warranty and prepaid service package.
14:36 why would anyone smoke in a car that nice?
License plate ‘uwu’ lol
Funny, for Merc 450 GLA you get little SUV with bigger horsepower in the same engine capacity. Cheaper too.
Not even the same category. The GLA is a slightly taller hatchback more in line with the infiniti QX30 and lexus UX..
Sofyan, I believe the fart noises are because the engine in it is the Flatulence 4....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Save your money and just get an SQ5. I’ve driven both, and the Audi is the better buy.
The VW GTI is the better buy of all 3. Wait, a Toyota Corolla with a picture of a Porsche in the glove box is a better buy. No, a used Corolla with a digital picture of a Porsche on your phone is a better buy.
@J CR well the base macan costs 50k, and ive never seen one optioned above 80k so your facts are fucky somewhere dude
@J CR lmao. Fully loaded macan wont be near that price point. Ur thinking of a cayenne
J CR that’s a cayenne, genius
If you're not going to drive the Macan as it's meant to be driven then it makes sense to buy the SQ5. However, I think the Porsche is much better looking. I live in the Philly suburbs and see, maybe, one Macan a day. The Audi is all over the place. I would be very interested in the Alfa Stelvio, but the tech is far behind its competitors. I don't believe they'll ever catch up.
he man i'm sold on this car very nice
Bad Fuel economy and Pretty heavy for a compact luxury suv
Figures on the sticker are wrong.
@Ethan Pae 2 tons for a compact suv... i know that you didn't need to respond to my opinion.
Great car! You face 18:30 very funny 😂😂😂
Love Porsche's till the warranty runs out then I'll go out and buy a Lexus/ Acura.
Ever owned one? I have a 99 Boxster that I bought new in Nov 98. Still have it. Over 100k miles. Most reliable car I have ever had. Even better than the third best car I ever owned....an Acura sedan who's master cylinder failed at 37,000....and again at 74,000. How many cars have you ever heard of a master cylinder failing? Second best car I ever had was an Toyota Celica. No car is perfect but based on my experience, Porsche is OK by me.
smart move
@Ethan Pae
No if i wanna Porsche it wouldn't be hard for me to ob.
Am I the only one that hears this guys knees clicking when ever he squats down
Just noticed the Arlington plate. Are you in the DMV area?
Yes, he's driven on 66 between Tyson's and Arlington many times.
His Tesla videos and the new Infniti SUV come to mind, also the Buick or Cadillac video.
Where’s the Link!!
