How China Spurred India's Naval Development | Taiwan Talks EP364

- India and China are not only engaged in a standoff over their land border. Beijing’s growing encroachments in the Indian Ocean, including at Djibouti naval base and Sri Lanka’s Hambantota Port have pushed New Delhi to bolster its naval capabilities and spurred the nation’s increasing role as custodian of the Indian Ocean. With two aircraft carriers and 140 vessels and growing, we ask, has India’s navy arrived?

My mistake. Lets see what India does.
India and the Philippines are strengthening their political, economic and defense relationship in response to Chinese expansionism and aggression. This is beneficial to Taiwan
And other allies in the region, former and newer
Please bring some good expert 😂
At first, big thanks to Taiwan news for taking interest in these issues. Key aspect On galwan valley stand off the panel should have also emphasized: at 11:00 the panel didn't mention that Chinese losses are disputed, Indian side announced 20 souls lost within 48 hours whereas Chinese losses are approx 35-40, same collaborated by US intelligence. While panel is correct to state Chinese losses of 4 souls, yet they must specify the politics being played on the back and front of this stand off. I understand there is an attempt to sideline the context, but still I will not report this content as misleading/ misinformation, giving a benefit of doubt to the content creator. May their next content come better prepared
Russian and American intelligence confirmed, china had lost almost 40 soldiers in Galwan clash. India also said, they lost approx 45 soldiers. And CCP said after 5 month they lost 4 soldiers 😂😂😂
If Taiwan steps up tsmc semiconductor plants in India....you guys got a good chance
China rise in the 21 century ,and India is also rising.India will play a vital role in the balance of power in the indo pacific , together with like minded countries like Japan, Australia, Korea Taiwan and asean.
Unfortunately, the country that is like-minded as India is CCP China itself!!! China is populous, India is populous!! As CCP fortifies and builds infra in the Himalayan borders.. India also fortifies and builds... China fought hand to hand combat, so did India... They are basically 2 sides of THE SAME coin.,

India has to reduce its dependency over china . China Exports to India was US$117.68 Billion but India Exports to China was just US$15.08 Billion in 2023 . If india dials down it to 60%-70% in next 10 years . This will change the whole scenario whether it be in indian ocean or on LAC.
That's fake 😂😂
The overall efficiency has already been down to around 70-80 billion dollars in 2023-24. The data you showed is old.
India is still relatively smaller although still very powerful and capable. In about 10 to 15vyesrs , it can become a formidable power which can singularly challenge and defeat China economically and militarily. It will then withdraw the one China policy , shed it's Tibet and Taiwan policies recognizing both these great countries as independent nations and will start asserting itself in the Chinese neighborhood in ways Xi cannot imagine.
India is its own ally… we don’t know the future

Even without watching the video, people are bad mouthing the Bangladeshi expert, which is not right thing to do and he has presented India's side in a very factual and civilized manner.
China has to watch her back against the most powerful navy in the world. India just needs to have the most powerful navy in the Indian Ocean. China has her problem tailored by both.

India has to have one aircraft carrier Work in Progress all the time because it takes 15 years or more to complete one carrier.
Depends. First ship of a class always takes more time than subsequent ships. It is the same world over. CSL claims that they can deliver a sister ship of INS Vikrant within 6-7 years of contract signing.
More importantly, we need to get NGD sorted ASAP and have at least two of those entering service every year from 2035 onwards. If we pull it off, we'll have a principle surface combatant fleet that has more than half the strength of the US Navy by 2050. And that is quite the formidable fleet given the fact that this fleet will only be deployed in Indian Ocean, compared to US Naval fleet that is deployed across 7 oceans.
But yeah, without the carriers, all other principle surface combatants are almost pointless.
Indian navy is the reason this muslim liberated from Pakistan in 1971 😂
Wrong description that Bharat Navy is at 8th position. Please check.
India needs to get there **** together if they want to be an economic power. I am on India's side but infrastructure spending will take time.
Hello my Taiwanese sisters and brothers! We indian will always stand by you. India will fight even against entire world to protect sovereignity and territorial integrity of Taiwan.

To our Taiwanese viewer you may know about galwan clash of 21 but there's one more clash that shook the CCP's & PLA's leadership ie. Doklam clash of 2017..
while Galwan clash was for patrolling for disputed region where both armies do patrolling to show that they have claim but sooner than later both come on to base without making any permanent structure (even small camping tent) which didn't happen so clashes took place.. whereas in Doklam incident india had security pact with bhutan so when PLA was making road on Bhutanese territory it was Indian army which physically stopped PLA assisted engineer to make road & even sieze there equipments which shows CCP wasn't able to do what it's doing in SCS
They will face resistance.. after massive border infra improvement IA can move faster to border areas & have actual offensive advantage in certain sectors..
also IAF has upper hand over PLAAF in that region & even in IOR IN is better defended can even blow some punches to big PLAN ships in SCS if push comes to shove..
The guy probably forgot that his country Bangladesh was liberated by the Indian army and Navy
Great views.... Comments.... Projections!
Wonderful show. Panelists are very informed and knowledgeable !
1. The Galvan incident was in-fact a blessing in disguise by waking up the sleeping elephant.
a. It has effectively buried the ghost of 1962 in Indian minds. The robust pushback of China at Galwan and since then, has given huge confidence to the Indian army and public that it is no way less than China. Infact Indian soldiers are much more battle hardened than the conscripts of the Chinese army.
b. Its border infrastructure has been strengthened on a war-footing and in a few years will catch up with China.
2. The part of the Quad which has been best operationalised militarily is tracking of China’s ships and submarines. The P8Is of USA, Australia and India have the entirely Indian Ocean under surveillance and no Chinese naval asset will go undetected.
3. India has developed an array of missiles like the Bramhos, Pralay and the recently tested 1000 km SMART missile launched torpedo, which gives it a huge Offence-Defence capacity and all Chinese naval assets will be within range of shore based Indian missiles on Indian mainland, Andaman’s and Lakshadweep. Remember Andaman’s are like a huge, unsinkable aircraft carrier right near the Malacca Choke Point.
4. India is indigenising its armament industry to withstand a prolonged war of attrition with China.
5. USA is silently developing base in the event of a US-China war in the Indian Oceans. Firstly a string of Indian shipyards and being developed to repair US ships. USA is developing Indian Maintenance Repair facilities for US aircraft, helicopters, engines etc which can be used by USA in a US-China standoff.
Goliath China should now start rethinking of its relationship with David India. It better not poke the Indian Elephant

Definitely, China will tell you they discovered Indian ocean since ancient times😂 once you allowed them to build infrastracture there in your region😂
As we industralze by 2030s 40s we would become a much larger economy in ppp terms our economy will be as much as 60 to 70 percent of however much is China's economy is by 2040 and least 2 to 3 times military expansion and domestic weapons production we would become a superpower so china really can't do much but as of now yeah we are in a bind since we are rapidly growing but still relatively 3x to 4x weaker.

India has one advantage that could pose greater threat to China in the event of a war is its tri services command in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Indian navy can easily block the choke point in the Malacca straits through which 40-50 percent of China's trade takes place . India also needs to improve the infrastructure in Chabahar port which is only 100 miles from Gwadar port. India should also try to take control of the port of Aden from Oman on lease which was previously a part of India during British rule. Also India should increase it's naval presence in South China sea that would put the Chinese PLA navy in great discomfort. All in all, the great geopolitical game between India and China has started with great implications for both the countries.
