One of the best Travis interviews I’ve heard.
Yes..he s doing great, really good energy and callmness
It's so cool that Travis writes all the bridges of blink songs!
The fact that Travis played sets with the Dickies around the time they said bands like blink-182 and Green Day were sh*t music, and Travis getting the gig with blink and becoming major successful with them comes to show that sometimes a certain mindset can set you back. Good for Travis for seeing that.
Rick please produce Blinks next album pleeeease. They've been done dirty for far too long.
I'd love to see Eric Valentine producing a Blink album :D He did amazing stuff in the early 2000s with Taking Back Sunday, Good Charlotte and All American Rejects
I saw Travis on the SnoCore tour in '98. It was my first concert. I distinctly remember being blown away by the Aquabats drummer. This was one of the last shows Blink's original drummer appeared.
What was blink like with scot?
@@richt87Scott still had lots of energy and it was a good show. Different vibe than with Travis though. I met Tom and Mark before the show and they hung out a while and talked and were really cool to us. Mark gave us free backstage passes which I still have. Scott was nowhere to be found. I remember 17yo. me, oblivious being like, “Where’s Scott?!” They were just like “I dunno dude, he’s around.”
Naming Animal, as being his first inspiration is so epic.
Travis not using a click track for enema of the state is INSANE.
Was it recorded as a jam or did he listen to it like a practice track?
@@guitarfumar they wrote the material before going into the studio so he knew his drum parts already. he just recorded the drum track solo as a foundation for mark and tom to record over
No it’s not; he’s a drummer.
@@SonikJesus 🤣🤦♂️ I tried to be a bit more nuanced.
Clicks weren’t common until pro tools. No pumpkins song was recorded to click until the 2010’s
You know what I love the most about Travis Barker? His home! He was featured in AD a while ago and his home is so tranquil and now after listening to this conversation I feel like I know why.
I love how Travis name dropped John Frusciante! Masters of their trade.
When?
This podcast is amazing. I’ve been a blink fan since 1998 and I feel like I learnt so much 😂
Same! I heard dude ranch after soccer practice at my friend Tres’ house in 11th grade! Then the summer after 12th grade enema came out. That was the most excited for an album release after playing dude ranch everyday for over a year.😂
This is a phenomenal podcast. Thank you.
Even as a bassist who (for the most part) plays genres entirely different from what Travis Barker does, the man is such an inspiration. Love the guy, he's a true musician.
Great interview!
love that John Frusciante reference, especially since Rick produced some of the most iconic Chili Pepper albums, can see for sure John just doing a solo on how he feels is needed for that song and not trying to go extra, just to go extra (even tho he can for sure go extra haha) Travis is the same, he can go HAM on drums but only feel when song calls for it
when is the reference ?
One of the best interviews ever
After 11minutes I have experienced 4 advertisements. Thats a challenge Rick. Interview is great beautiful value but at this rate 20commercials is abit much 😮
One Love!
Always forward, never ever backward!!
☀️☀️☀️
💚💛❤️
🙏🏿🙏🙏🏼
Dudes always been a beast.
So incredible to hear two of my FAVORITE music people on the same show.
That was a Grand conversation.
Bad ass, thank you for this interesting interview
This was absolutely incredible! Great interview!
Amazing interview. He’s right about One more time being correct without the superfluous instrumentation, it made me cry this morning as I listened to it, and I don’t really care about post 2001 Blink 182 Albums
Travis❤
It's funny to me how I've always loved Blink's bridges. TOYPAJ is just full of them, but you don't really hear a bridge in newer music nowadays. Not that there's anything wrong with that though. I've just always enjoyed an interesting bridge to mix up the flow. Makes sense now.
Fantastic interview, extreamly informative and inspirational a must listen.
Great podcast
this is epic... 2 legends
Yes Trav. Please talk to Tom before he does it again.
Wish Rick would have asked him more about the Aqua Bats! I had no idea Travis was in that band!
My friend ran into Travis at a party in LA once about 2002 and said, "Hey! It's the Baron Von Tito!" and Travis was like, "Don't ever call me that again." Haha He did appear with them in 2023 at a festival though.
get travis audio book, they were bummed when he left.
Woah wtf I'm from Hemet! Holy shit.
The best thank you
amazing interview
Two legends
WE WANT CASABLANCAS !!!
I didn’t even knew he has 2 older sisters. 😮
They should record the next record with Rick Rubin or another upscale producer.
Andrew Taggart from the chainsmokers wanted Travis to just play hard rather than to the song. In the end they did go with what Travis wrote originally. Very clever man
❤️🔥🎼❤️🔥
He aoinds awesome. So much more lucid than the interview with Zane. He was high in that video
Great interview! Those ads are cool as fuck. Like Tarantino styles for podcasts.
Bad ass
Wanna hear chesire cat and dude ranch with travis drumming
Why r these lowkey
no video, no promo. organic growth. if you find it you find it. i like it
Yeah thought of the same thing! Seems like he's independent so it's cool.
Why not
its the way shit should be done hes rich no need to commercialize more
Howdy
rick - i would love to hear you talk to the freestyle rapper harry mack ❤
Wait, I thought AM died in the crash!?!?! That's what the news said back then at least.
survived the crash..died a few years later from a drug overdose
Nah, cuz he did the tv show Gone Too Far after the plane crash, which unfortunately is said to be a part of his relapse. He passed almost a year after the crash.
Sorry wenn ich dich beleidigt hab..✌️
Eminem?
Hanging out with the Kardashians - he's starting to sound like one.
u obviously have never listen to Travis talk since joining blink
you mean a lot to him Travis...
999 shit aye...
999 72
I think he's a drummer...
