- Seville is the capital of Andalusia. With 700,000 inhabitants, it is the fourth largest city in Spain. We have chosen a simple but good hotel in the Calle de la Alhóndiga in the old city. From here we can easily reach almost every point of the city by foot. The Calle de la Alhóndiga leads through the Calle Corral del Rey and Calle Argote de Molina straight into the center to the Cathedral of Santa María de la Sede of Seville. In the labyrinth of the old town there are so many things to discover, be it a good restaurant, beautiful patios or the Bordados Foronda, a shop for traditional Andalusian clothes and accessories. Bordados Foronda is also a factory where the articles are produced. The friendly lady in the shop allows us some shots. We first visit the Cathedral, which, due to its size and importance, we have devoted an own contribution, just like the Royal Palace Alcazar.
The cathedral is built on the foundations of a mosque of which only the impressive 97 meter high Giralda Tower remained. It was once the minaret. Between Cathedral and Alcazar, we pass the Archivo de Indias, the third UNESCO World Cultural Heritage in Seville. It is the most important collection on Spain's colonial period. The Archivo de Indias is housed in the building of the former stock exchange. In front of the walls of Alcazar, we listen to to Carlos del Rio for a while, whom we owe this beautiful flamenco music.
Through one of the last remaining city gates, the Oil Postigo del Aceite, we go towards Rio Guadalquivir. To our left are the old shipyards, which were connected to the port. They are among the oldest monuments of Seville. To the right you see the post office.
On the riverbanks we pass the Torre del Oro, which we will show in a separate article. We reach the Avenida de la Constitution. Magnificent buildings impress the visitors. Shortly before the city hall we see some flamenco dancers.
On Placa Nueva we make a break while we watch a little boy who simulates to ride on an one of the electric rental bikes.
We enter the old town of Seville, marvel at the architecture and pass by the Iglesia del Salvador. In addition to designer shops we find grocery stores where you can buy everything, as well as exclusive restaurants and traditional bars. Passing the Metropol Parasol we reach our hotel.

One of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Long live Europe
Thank you very much for your amazing comment! Seville is a fantastic city with a lot of interesting history! All the best and have an enjoyable time!
To be able to walk in a city such as this in Europe, is a luxury any American can't imagine, and jet so simple. And any European takes for granted. Feel very lucky!
Having walks by your home, or in your city, and to people watch, keeps you connected and sane!!! to be able to hangout at any age! And have pretty things to see, without he need of a car. More valuable than any Hollywood, or millionaire gated private communities, empty of people. No Botox needed! Just smile!!
Thank you very much for your fantastic words! I could not say otherwise! Most people are no longer able to imagine a life without a car :-( But they will have to change! Best wishes and a happy Christmas Time!

I agree. Went to Med school there and never needed a car
Narrow streets cordial people we could cross the downtown area in less than two hrs walking
Tapa bar hopping was a great experience
Back in late 70s they loved little kids too
Good people don’t know now though
Cig smoking was coming into fashion with the younger generation then
Hope it’s no longer that ubiquitous
Enjoy
I miss it a lot

spain in hub of cultures , national and nationalities , and tourists
Thank you very much for your great words! Hava a beautiful day! Greetings!
We have more than one video of Sevilla on this channel! Please take a look in the playlist Spain or search in youtube for 'Plaza de España myvideomedia' Best wishes!
No modern buildings in Seville?
Sure, but in other parts of the city! Look for "Metropol Parasol" in our channel or in Google!
@@myvideomedia i mean, skycrapers, hight rise. Seville just has ONLY One skycraper or hight rose (Torre Seville).
Bilbao and Malaga smallest than Seville, but they are have many skycrapers. Also Liverpool and Manchester in England.
ok, sure! But do you really think that it is so desirable to live in a high-rise building? From the resource consumption it is of course better for this planet!
@@myvideomedia maybe for typical old cities in Spain and Europe which are dominated by old buildings such as Sevila, tall buildings with modern architecture are not necessary. but for cities that are more modern in almost all countries in Asia, Autralia, America and several modern cities in Europe, of course, high buildings with modern architecture are a symbol of modernity and prestige. In Spain, the city of Madrid is starting to build several skyscrapers, and of course the tourist city of Benidorm is a symbol of modernity. because Benidorm is filled with skyscrapers that make the city on the same level as the super modern cities in Asia and America.
Thats all right, but I have lived in different citties like Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, Los Angeles, Carracas, Johannesburg, and some more. The point is that the traffic problems have to be solved - then this concepts make sense. Otherwise you have no air for breath! All the best!
🇪🇸✌️
Thank you very much for your nice feedback!
Thank you for your response! Please read the comment or better the article in our blog!
