Team China showed some brilliant floor routines in the women's artistic team all-around at the 1996 Atlanta Games. Mo Huilan, Mao Yanling, Qiao Ya, Liu Xuan, Ji Liya, Kui Yuanyuan, and Bi Wenjing just got short of the podium. With a total score of 385.867, the team placed fourth.

If only Mo Huilan did that exact routine in the AA 😢
Except the out of bounds in third pass her routine in AA was excellent.
@Louis Maltais point is, if she'd produced the TF routine, she'd have medalled; maybe gold.
@@wendyw651 Silver at best I think. She needed a 9.856 to beat Lilia and the only person to score above a 9.850 in those games was Lilia herself.
@@Gazmeizster_Wongatronand Amanar I think
@@wendyw651 She would not have won. She needed a 9.856 for gold and this same routine got only a 9.775 in team optionals. And Podkopayeva, and Amanar in team optionals (anchoring with the Romanians building huge scores) were the only ones to get above 9.850 once. To win she would have needed to hit her beam dismount better, then hit floor too. She would have won AA silver though.
Kui Yuanyuan was STUNNING
It's just sad what the Chinese women's team looks like. I heard talks about the internal team struggles and how they still only stick to small and skinny standards. Even back then, the "smaller" girls have high power output and who can even do a double layout anymore? I can't think of ONE person on the current team who can do it. Jia Fangfang could do H skills but she went to tumbling instead because the gymnastics coaches already gave up on floor and vault. Just all around sad. They don't eat enough and when injured, don't bounce back fast enough.
I wish that they would invest in a vault and floor specialist.
They need another Cheng Fei. Solid on everything except bars
It is more about the fact that not many girls to choose from anymore. Back then parents were willingly sending their girls to do gymnastics, it is not the case now.
Kui yuanyuan was such a star! It's too bad she didn't make the beam final, she'd definitely have had a shot at the gold.
So graceful and beautiful 😻
Also, first!
Mo huilan had the best double layout I’ve ever seen
What a grace, artistry, power❤️Kui Yuanyuan LEGEND 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
They could really lift their passes. Great routines
The 2nd gymnast (Mao Yaling) that was up; her floor music is recognizable from Dominique Moceanu’s AA Beam routine from the NBC coverage
I miss this type of polish in gymnastics 😢
Chineses and Russians gymnastic girls are so beautiful and elegante
Incrível solo No Huilan
The truth is that the Chinese woman team nowadays is no longer stronger than they used to be.
❤awesome 👍love the girls is best
Mo Huilan did that in her All-Around.
Ji Liya’s routine was my favorite
They were much better than now 🎉
How many scores are counted?
I believe in Atlanta there were 7 on a team, 6 competed on each event and 5 scores counted.
Nothing says artistry more than a chicken dance to classical music... peak 90s
Ese suelo suena feo ,cómo si estuviera oxidado los resortes...

Прекрасно но травмоопасно.
Japan is the best gymnastics nation in the world ! Not China Russia or newbie like USA !
Huh???😂😂😂 ur so funny! Dont compare the chinese team to japan. China won a lot of gold (mens & womens) event compare to ur japan team. Ur so 😂😂😂😂
@@Tart-wj7gzwhat black angel is saying is that now they are up there with the world's best the men in particular and the women are climbing that ladder aswell
lmao
On the men’s side? Japan has had enormous success, many Olympic and world titles absolutely. On the women’s side? Not even close.
@@saragrant9749 Shut up kid ! Japan is the best like Cuba and Brazil in amateur boxing and football ! 😁
