    Nice video. Regarding the AC adapter what is the right one? Some show or do not show the plug that goes into the electronics of the faucet we all know it requires the miniature plug but some show the larger one. Why MOEN used the miniature is beyond me but they did. Also they say or they do not say the output voltage is 12 volts DC but isn’t using 6 1.5 volt batteries add up to 9 volts DC? What is the correct power supply to use with this faucet?

    A very informative review, thank you. One question: it appears that the sole control to change the water temperature is to manually adjust the handle. If that's true, how much does that discount the value of the touchless option? For example, when washing dishes by hand, I adjust water temp often. It seems like the more one grasps the handle to manually adjust the temp on a "touchless" faucet, the less value the sensors provide. Is this your experience?

    Anyway to control the water pressure in Motion Sense mode? My sink faucet has quite a high water outflow rate and I seldom turn the handle all the way when washing hands. Is there a way I can limit the amount of water coming out during Auto mode but still have it on max power when using the handle? ( to wash dishes ) Thank you!

    It's so funny how fast you get used to the touchless or touch faucets, and how ridiculous you feel when you're at someone else's house waving or tapping their faucets. "I think your faucet's brok- Nevermind, it's just me..."

    I installed a unit today. It was Pretty simple, the slimline controller module, made the install more simple than the previous version.
    I did not have any pressure problems, or water temperature problems. Well, no more than the poor plumbing system that I already have. Love the motion sense, feature. The only compliant, I have would be unit and the stores not having the A/C adapter available. Amazon does have it, but so far after day 1 install my entire family loves it. I can do without the $399 price tag, but as far as the engineering is concerned, everything in the box is all I needed.
    Good job Moen.

    How well does the "ready" sensor work for staying on? In public restrooms, they're usually terrible and keep turning off while I'm still washing my hands.

    • @twobitlife2028
      @twobitlife2028  6 лет назад +2

      the motion sensor in the front works pretty well, as i mentioned black pots and stuff won't really trigger it. I've adopted a style where i hold my hand closer to the sensor and it works great. and don't forget if you want, you can always wave your hand on top, turn the water on, do what you got it do, then wave your hand over the top again to turn it off.
      my wife prefers the top wave, where I prefer the front instantaneous motion sensor.

    • @thegiftlady1
      @thegiftlady1 2 года назад

      And you can turn either sensor off very easily: put palm on the sensor, keep it there a minute to reset to off or on. I found it always on annoying bc every time I put something in the sink it went on. Nice having the choice.

  • @CorySakai
    @CorySakai 6 лет назад

    Older model actually has separate water lines and requires a different electronic controller underneath the sink that allows you to use the faucet manually without any power. The undersink module also allows you to control the motionsense water temperature.

    • @thegiftlady1

      How old was it? I bought my first one 8-9 yrs ago and it has the water lines shown here. Great faucet!

      @@thegiftlady1 Take a look at this: ruclips.net/video/fHze1DRMvfc/видео.html it is the original model with 3 separate lines going up, that can be considered a good and bad design, but I miss it. I think you got it when they were transitioning to the new model. I had to get a new wand hose when it developed a pin hole leak and then had to get it replaced with the newer model when the sensor stopped working.

    I have read a couple of reviews on AMAZON that say in order to change water temperature for the sensors you have go under sink to adjust the temperature on the control box. This seems very odd and inconvenient. Is this true, or can you set the temperature with the handle as you would with a normal faucet?

    • @twobitlife2028
      @twobitlife2028  6 лет назад +5

      the temperature adjust is done on the faucet knob just like a normal faucet. You don't have to go underneath to adjust it.
      One thing to keep in mind is that the auto motion sense sensors will output water based on the knob position. so if you have the knob all the way to cold, and wave your hand, the water will come out cold.
      hope that helps!

    • @miro34786

    Please help: I had the blinking light thinking my Moen needed new batteries. I replaced them and the water automatically turned on for a second when I plugged in the power cord and then shut off. (I tried manually turning on the water with the handle and no water comes out.) I tried unplugging and plugging back the data and power cords (data first then power letting it cycle and then reverse order when that didn't work); same thing; a few seconds after I plug in the power cord, the water turns on for a second and then stops and I can't manually turn on the water and the sensors won't respond. I called Moen's help desk and they said the data box likely needs to be replaced. I got a new data box from Moen, swapped it out and same problem. Water turns on for a second after I plug in the power cord then nothing. Any advice? I'm out of ideas. Thank you in advance!

    Had this faucet for more than 2 years, bought at costco, for a lot of money. I can not recommend this faucet. Installation was not easy because of their clamp to counter top system (and this can be done right, for instance in the Hansgrohe's faucets), general bulkiness under counter, had to purchase plastic cover to have the counterweight of head move more freely, it still doesn't), and of course powered mixing box I had to install under counter. My main gripe is with the lower sensor that is positioned too high for it to "see" my hands for hand washing, it keeps either not turning on, or turning off too soon. Also not good: the water when turned on the handle to totally warm, always comes out mixed too cold....., the water when turned on the handle to totally cold, you guessed it, comes out too warm, probably because it always gets mixed with warm water. The programming in the mixing box is flawed I would say, the sensors are still active when you turn on the faucet by the handle, that doesn't make sense. I have to go to another faucet in the house to get the temp right. Oh, had to tighten it 2 times already at the handle because it was dripping water onto the counter....I'm inclined to buy a touch sensor faucet the next time, if somebody can get that right......

    • @thegiftlady1
      @thegiftlady1 2 года назад

      Sensor water setings: can be set by the owner &/or adjusted under the sink. Tge under sink controller has a dial for this. Too cold or hot? Just turn the dial. That easy.
      Spout sensor too low: you must be very tall. My 6'2" husband has no issue like this.
      Tighten: hope you used the tool Moen suplies to tighten to the counter. If not and you can't find it just call them. They will send you one and anything else you need. They have a terrific Customer Service Dept. and a Lifetime Warranty.

    • @homeforfjfonderie2865
      @homeforfjfonderie2865 2 года назад

      @@thegiftlady1 I wasn't talking about sensor under sink settings, I was talking about the temperature of the water coming out of the spout when you use the manual handle only. Apparently, the sensor settings are interfering with the manual water temps: when you want to do dishes, and need very hot water, and use the manual handle only, the water doesn't come out hot.. And when you need it very cold on manual handle, it doesn't come out very cold either.
      The placement of the lower sensor has nothing to do with the length of the person using it imo. In order to turn that one on, you have to raise your hands abnormally high, where they splash a lot of water and soap on the counter, not a normal position for handwashing for any person that's washing their hands, of either short, tall or medium stature.
      Yes we used the tool Moen suplied to tighten to counter. I remember it well, because It broke when we needed to re-install when we got a new counter top. Had to order an off-brand one from Amazon quickly, that was also not fun.
