VeikkoVenemies I keep thinking of black lives matter on that first verse. But then Im like wait Michael wasnt alive for that (sad face). He was so incredibly, incredibly prophetic.
How ppl can still drag his name in the mud, accusing him of child molesting or whatever, after all the songs he made to raise awareness about wars, missing childs, ppl suffering. He did so much to ppl, always gave hope... I can't believe how evil ppl can be... Love you Mike
I think that’s exactly why they drag him. Michael was way more powerful than anyone gives him credit for. His global influence, especially over the youth of the world, is unparalleled. Borders, language barriers, cultural differences didn’t exist for him as it does for many powerful people such as politicians and religious leaders. His messages of unity, acceptance, love and individual empowerment are counterproductive to dividing and conquering the masses.
@@sunowl5301 The one who accused him of molestation said on the news he lied. This was after MJ died. Media made sure that never was heard again but for those of us who heard it know and knew they lied about it so his image would still be tainted. Sad how people (Media) like to praise and ruin celebrities all in one breathe. They control what they want us to see and believe
Right there’s no reason to molest children if you have these girls wanting to be with you,and the sad part is they still said he did when he passed away.
The media and music industry couldn’t stand that when Michael sang the world listened. They unleashed hell on him, tarnished his name. They still want to bury him 12 years after he’s been gone. In vain… the King lives! 🔥
Sony also hated him cause MJ knew how crooked these industries were. Hey, that song, I don't know why it's not one of his best songs. It has beautiful lyrics. When you hear it, you get filled with emotion. Michael is the goat.
This is one of the many songs Michael wrote and performed after he was banished from the United States. A majority his music during that time dealt with social issues and deep emotional, personally complex life experiences. "invincible" is very good album, but radio stations refused to help promote it. A large majority of U.S. citizens are judgmental and slow to forgive. Even if a person has been proven not guilty for an alleged crime, some in the U.S. refuse to believe the judicial process, and form their own opinion even if they have no factual information .
I feel what you are saying; however, he was not banished from the U.S. He still held citizenship in the U.S. and chose not to stay here, understandably. If they ransacked the place you lived at and you had the financial means to live, many people would perhaps choose to leave as well. MJ did not in any way declare political asylum. There have been political musical artists who actually were banished from their places of birth for the music they made (ex. Gilberto Gil, Miriam Makeba and Hugh Masekela, etc.). Michael returned to the states in the last part of his life, so he definitely wasn't banished. Invincible is actually one of my favorite albums from MJ, and it definitely was promoted by radio (and had a huge television special featuring a song or two from the album)- it just wasn't heavily promoted by POP radio. Songs from the album definitely were played by soul/R&B/AC stations at the time. I remember hearing from folks used to his more pop-themed songs that the album was 'too soulful'. The other thing is that the album went past the budget doled out by Sony; and they wanted him to tour the album, and he refused to... thereby putting the stops to more major promotion. Then September 11th happened, and that changed everything, not just for how Invincible was promoted, but the industry as a whole. Anyone, and especially MJ should have known to not put faith in record companies. He worked for Motown as a child so he knew how scammy the business was. He tried to get a seat at the table but they are always going to exploit labor. Michael was just an employee to exploitative execs. He realized that far too late. To me, it's not about people in the U.S. being 'too judgemental'. The very foundation of the U.S. is exploitation, be it the record industry, the prison system or the government. This is a HUGE component of what the HIStory album is about. Talking about this stuff was not Michael's first go-round. Michael was still selling records for Sony at the rates they wanted, so he could sing all the political songs he wanted. By the time Invincible rolled around he outlived his usefulness as a 'good worker' for the boss. So they didn't put that much energy into him. Michael made the mistake of thinking he had enough leverage there. But capitalism does not care about what you did in the past... Are you benefiting us now? People will disagree with me, but Michael was as expendable as any other Sony artist. He wasn't targeted because he was Michael Jackson. They stopped the focus on him because he was draining their ability to profit off him. Nothing new. Once 1991/1992 rolled around they supported him less and less, because he was a liability due to the controversies which followed him- remember how Black or White got banned? But he was still selling records and tours. They got what they wanted out of him when he sold half the ATV catalog, eventually selling off 75% of the shares- why else would they need him? Sony now owns 100% of ATV. Context is really important. I see a lot of comments about Michael not getting any support behind Invincible, but this situation was a long time coming, if you study his relationship with CBS and then Sony. He's ALWAYS had battles with the company. He stopped being a 'golden child' LONG before 2001. Be well...
start a social media campaign. Get this song to the top of the charts. All charts. There's nothing that can't be done, if we raise our voice as one. For Michael, everybody.

Love was taken from a young life
And no one told her why
Her direction has a dimelight
From one more violent crime
She innocently questioned why
Why her father had to die
She asked the men in blue
How is it that you get to choose
Who will live and who will die
Did God say that you could decide?
You saw he didn't run
And that my daddy had no gun
In the middle of a village
Way in a distant land
Lies a poor boy with his broken toy
Too young to understand
He's awaken, ground is shakin
His father grabs his hand
Screaming, crying, his wife's dying
Now he's left to explain
He innocently questioned why
Why his mother had to die
What did these soldiers come here for?
If they're for peace, why is there war?
Did God say that they could decide
Who will live and who will die?
All my mama ever did
Was try to take care of her kids
We're innocently standing by
Watching people lose their lives
It seems as if we have no voice
It's time for us to make a choice
Only God could decide
Who will live and who will die
There's nothing that can't be done
If we raise our voice as one

Learn from his life and what he did for us. He did it for us. Everything he was is also in us :) we just have to use it and transform it into light for this world.
Let's do it and inspire others as well!
He wasn't a legend...he was one of us and used his soul Power. We all can do it, no matter in which area.
Follow your dreams and your goals...and be a light for others. Lets start now. We need it. The world needs it. We can start by being a light in this pandemic and brainwashing that is going on right now.
Every work has a signature, the signature of this world is Michael Jackson. May your soul rest in peace.
"He innocently questioned why
Why his mother had to die
What did these soldiers come here for?
If they're for peace why is there war?
Did God say that they could decide
Who will live and who will die?"
No one could capture emotion & empathy like MJ
Currently On REPLAY!
Message still relevant today. RIP KING!
VeikkoVenemies I keep thinking of black lives matter on that first verse. But then Im like wait Michael wasnt alive for that (sad face). He was so incredibly, incredibly prophetic.

Underrated as heck! One of the best mj song of the 200’s
2000’s
This song is very relevant right now!
Agreed.
Amen.
Is happening again!
It is now too... It will be forever relevant
"what did the soldiers come here for? if it is for peace why is there war?" probably the wisest i have ever heard. RIP the king
How ppl can still drag his name in the mud, accusing him of child molesting or whatever, after all the songs he made to raise awareness about wars, missing childs, ppl suffering. He did so much to ppl, always gave hope... I can't believe how evil ppl can be... Love you Mike
Money will make them lie on Owen mother.
US media must apologise greatly with a biggest fine due to such a big mistake.
This is a masterpiece.
None of Michael Jacksons songs will ever get old.
Ever! Michael is timeless
@@Keezie27 Yes Michael sure is timeless :-)
Hi everyone. Happy New Year :-)
This song is a hidden gem
It is a demi thats why
The media and music industry couldn’t stand that when Michael sang the world listened. They unleashed hell on him, tarnished his name. They still want to bury him 12 years after he’s been gone. In vain… the King lives! 🔥
Sony also hated him cause MJ knew how crooked these industries were. He bought 50% and had major control of his career and made money.....they with the help of others tried to destroy him image and jealous of how smart he was on making money, donated millions to help the children and others. MJ is still LOVED today, we miss you MJ! If only he can actually see the Love. This is it in 3D would of been out of this world. Dam I miss him.. Too bad when he took a break after being accused he didn't come back stronger with his concerts to tell the accusers f-u with your BS, his fans would still be there for him which would of made him stronger with packed concerts.
@@misty5979 true.
I feel that maybe he needed some mental space from the world after that trial. Surely he also worried for his kids being affected. It’s all good. He left us with enough.
@@shennine7044 yes he gave us a lot and still is and we must keep it going for ever.
@@shennine7044 I forgot he had his kids then, I truly thought it was before.

The world couldn't handle Michael when he started singing about the truth...this song is really deep and has a very strong message.
Sylvia Miller you're so right that's why they tried to discredit him every chance they got. The truth hurt
Sylvia Miller agree
Sylvia Miller I agree, isn’t that why other artists can’t sing the truth. They’re scare.
This is probably the most powerful song of all time.

3:58 - 4:10 never heard such an explosion in a song with all the heehees and some crazy drum beats.. i can see him putting us in church again.. he went heavy rock gospel on this one.. and apart from that.. amazing song all in all.. the softness at the beginning.. and this crescendo towards the end.. with the in your face lyrics from a true empath, an observer of pain.. only Michael. He really believed in the power of music.. and that is why he was so different.. he really believed in its powers...and you can hear it... he believed in it as a form of a life force that changes hearts... as an essential experience of this universe. it matters to have intentional and great music... it matters to believe in its power.. it makes a difference to believe it can make a difference.. it is a contribution to the world..
This is the darkest thing I've ever listened to. It's every horror in this world expressed in music. It sends shivers down my spine.

What a song!
Same I agree
Michael Jackson is the absolute best!!!
The touching message of this monumental song is another proof that Michael is innocent.
I love Michael Jackson. He is on of the greatest thinker of all time. This song is on real life. He was a critical thinker and had a best ability to choose the words and to sing it with a highly professional way
I agree with you 100%. He has been and will be the best artist in the world, and he is innocent forever!
True
@@dinabowing4963 No, I don't believe he's Innocent. But, there's maybe a slight chance he can be guilty. I'm not saying he is but, im saying there's a chance he could be. We cannot just side with him because "Oh they're lying." or "Michael cared about children" The fact he HAD sleep overs is pretty sus. But even then I may be wrong

"What did these soldiers come here for?" If they're for peace why is there war?"
YOU ARE RIGHT, THEY REFUSE TO BELIEVE THE TRUTH
Dartanianswordsman this was made during invincibles production.
and it was Sony who refused to promote it, Michael had to do most of the promoting himself(see: multiple versions of invincible being released)
Be well...
Dartanianswordsman
You damn right bro
He delivered with that one. Definitely one of his best work, lyrically, vocally and production wise. 10s 10s 10s.
