  • This model 1903 was manufactured in mid 1909, and still runs like an absolute champ!!

I wish the The 22 Winchester would have became the standard and 22LR would have died having the bullet seated in the case instead of the 22lr's healed bullet that tends to break loose definitely makes it more durable and probably makes it more consistent and reliable

In 1907, marksman and exhibition shooter Ad Topperwein used this rifle to set the greatest feat of marksmanship in history.
Topperwein shot at 72,000 hand-thrown woodblock targets and missed only 9 !

I saw one of these in a pawn shop today, and was just doing some research on it when I found your video. Looks like the old rifle performed just fine. I agree that it's a special treat to shoot an old firearm like that. I admire the craftsmanship of the men who make them. Thanks for sharing your range time with that old girl.

My great-grandfather passed one of these to me. I didn't meet him but my grandfather told me once he left it for me. The first time I shoot this I was 7yo. I'm 30 and I still have it. My father tells me it's deadly accurate. I haven't shot it since I was a kid but I remember the sound pretty clearly.

Rob, never heard of your channel before now, but found you via 22 winchester automatic searches.
Your passion and heartfelt laugh makes it really wholesome to watch.
Also, thanks for the information, pretty rare rifle you got there.

My father owned two of these, they're a semi automatic, which I used to use rabbit shooting, a great little rifle. Once upon a time you could buy the ammo here (Australia) but shops just ran out of it, so very hard to find, this was back in the late '70s. I had to write to Winchester in America for a box. They sent me one as at the time it was all they had in stock. I later left home and I don't know what the old man did with his rifle collection, he owned a heap of old Winchesters dating back to the 1800s.

That's awesome pal! I love these oldies as they're all directly connected to the same systems so many people look at as "new" or as "cutting edge" today. Yeah, not so much. It's crazy how dolt politicians and urban sexual intellectuals like to scream the phrase "Semiautomatic Rifle" as though Pandora's Box just opened and spit out an AR-15 and unless we slam it shut immediately, we will never be able to recover from the horrors. I'm pretty sure that if the mere existence of self loading firearms were going to be a problem, we just might have figured that out 80 or 90 years ago. :-) Morons. Back to a positive note, thanks for sharing the craft and keeping this important stuff on the front burner. Merry Christmas my friend!

This was such a fun, sweet shooting old gun. Being able to show how this technology has been around for well over a century and is nothing new simply blows people’s minds. It really is a hoot to shoot, and I was able to share the experience with someone else, too. It made me laugh to realize the firearm was 95 years older than they were!
