I am from India and I must clear the misconceptions about caste system in India. Yes there is in rural areas but we have come a long way towards equality through policies and society in general moving on. Also caste system does not only belong to Hindu community, you can be a Muslim, Christian or Sikh and still have the same caste system. But this movie says caste system is everywhere in India is like saying every white American is Racist today . That's obviously not true, the last embers of racism or castism left shouldn't be inflamed in my opinion. Majority of us are good people striving for equality and a better life. And not having one single representation of them in this movie is malicious or plain ignorant.
It's true, I was very excited for this movie but all that waned when I got to know about this bs propaganda they are trying to spread through their movie.

The censor board saves lives. Unfortunately, India's full of violent racists who just need the tiniest of reasons to justify going on a violent rampage. The board censors these tiny justifications, and hence saves the lives of the would be victims. It would definitely be a good thing if the country didn't need this, but it does, and so... wait a few months for _Monkey Man_ to come to streaming. It's a tiny budget movie, anyway, so doesn't really benefit that much from a big screen. Also, it has a LOT of shaky-cam, with makes it really hard to read the moments on a big screen but, on a smaller screen it would be easier to understand WTF is going on in the action scenes.
The censor board here in India is shit. Things have deteriorated significantly over the past decade. There were movies with more "religiously offensive" content that had no issue airing before. (The new political party has changed the country's atmosphere.) It's a shame I can't watch this movie; I was really looking forward to it. It even has a mostly Indian cast, many of whom I'm a fan of :/

After Americans after watching rrr the the and going to like this thing SS Rajamouli would have never worked with Dev Patel because everyone Indian knows Dev Patel walks and is a citizen of United Kingdom of course he is going to show United kingdom's colonial Jewel India as a country which is unable to process itself after its Masters have gone away
So regarding the color change. We the people of India are right at this moment fighting for our democracy. India has slipped into an electoral autocracy and BJP (ruling party) has practically destroyed media and established it's propoganda machine. Half the bollywood is in the same situation. Opposition is being opperesed, protestors are beaten up, gassed, hosed and they've even put up artificial boundaries in city more heavily guarded than our borders just to stop rallies. Currently only 4 things are holding the Democracy together in India, Supreme court, Protestors, Opposition and RUclipsrs. BJP is a party that is openly corrupt, using enforcement agencies to cookup false cases to jail protestors and opposition, while also promoting a Hindu only country (Fascism but Hindu). This is the situation. Monkey Man's basic premise will expose the entire government and Bollywood which has been either making flops or propaganda
How can you people so shamelessly lie like this? Hindus demanding Uniform Civil Code is fascism?!! Hindus demanding equality under law and to free temples from government control is fascism?! The BJP party is run by backward caste. You people can do your propaganda all you want, but truth shall triumph. I am from a MBC community btw. If Congress has to win, they will have to win over the people's trust, demonizing Hindus won't gain your ilk any support.
Stop spreading total lies like the movie that India is under some autocracy when the BJP was voted by the majority of the public .And no rallies are banned,no opposition is jailed but because most white people have no clue you think you can fool them just like the movie you want to spread a Hinduphobic narrative rooted in colonial racism and religious hate of the Hindus even though he uses a mask of hanuman to push . Do you even know what fascism is ? of course not. Just like slumdog millionaire where he pushed the same hinduphobic narrative even though its not even in the book.
okay Im gonna chime in because I think you can absolutely criticize the BJP without misrepresenting facts. "Cooking up false cases to jail opposition" is a very naive way to look at the arrests that happened. All those arrests were deserved. Its just that Modi conveniently "forgets" the BJP members from the arrest lists. In reality I dont think there's a person today in Indian politics that doesnt deserve jail time.
@@govinddas7876 Of course it's not that there is a pure person in our politics but the cases that were used to Jail AAP leaders is pretty much false. They might be guilty in other cases but the one that jailed them is definitely false

What a joke ...from where you got this info... You speak like after independence or after nda govt this is the only film that got ban😂😂😂
Learn from authentic source not from whtasapp University...
I like your opinions Sydney even if I don't always agree and this is one of those times. I think Dev missed the mark big time. Punishingly overlong, scattershot direction and the editing is all over the place, the script is a mess like they want us to root for Dev's character but he comes off as flat.
I felt that the film was slightly under developed especially with some its characters.. still enjoyed it overall though
the ong bak kick
Unreal
Thanks!!
I heard this movie was kind of slow. But I'll give it a try.
I’m definitely seeing people say they didn’t like the pacing in the second act, and i know what they’re talking about but it didn’t bother men
Much better than John Wick.
Hot take!!
I want to see Dev Patel annihilate all the Avengers...I'd pay to see that movie! 🙌🏻
Loved your review. Id give it 4.95 out of 5
I liked this film but I can’t help but feel slightly disappointed. The middle section dragged somewhat for me… and I felt like some characters were very underdeveloped. Still a fun enough time at the movies.
I’ve heard people saying that a lot, very fair!
Am i the only one who find the story disturbingly similar to Kungfu panda 2
Bruh😭
@SydneyVolpe Po finds Shen. Shen destroys Po. Po falls to river. Saved by the goat. Po recollects his pain of losing his mother to the wolves and finds peace in pain. He becomes stronger. Goes back to shen for rematch. Shen tries to stab Po. Po gets victory from the death of Shen. 🤣🤣🤣
If this movie direct by John woo or David letch,i will very very disappointed but dev, first time direct... WOW 2 thumb up
If you fascinates about this story then BJP rule in india(Bharath) have 2 decades ahead of the story and movies… dev Patel choose story way back 2 decades where Congress ruling India(Bharath)
After loving monkey man, you should definitely watch some Indian action movies like Leo(2023), Fighter(2024), and yodha(2024).
Leo, fighter and Yodha are Indian movies and Monkey Man is a Hollywood movie. That is why the movie Monkey Man is able to show the level of corruption in India.
So what you want to say ? Is there no corruption in India?@@kanedateng7604
@@kanedateng7604 Corruption or not, Indian movies are able to show a different table on the action genre and are worthy of being seen. Still, if you are interested in seeing the bad sides of India getting depicted in the Indian films, then there are movies like Jawan out there for you.

Modi and the BJP are fascist, not sure what progress you are referring to. The caste disparities have only further stratified

It's true, I was very excited for this movie but all that waned when I got to know about this bs propaganda they are trying to spread through their movie.
@@stevejobs507bro if you read just news paper headlines or just opposition parties hell bend on finding social divide to win elections so that they can continue there past 70 years of looting tax payers money, then yeah. I get your point. It's far from ground reality thoigh😢
@@shashwat7089Me too. But it seems to be another western elites view of the problems in India. Nothing to do with reality. I love Dev Patel, but this ain't it chief. Do better.
I watched it was sooo good.
I'm triggered by all the youtubers talking smack about it.
People are talking smack?!😭
i want to watch this so badly and i hear the cbfc of india is butchering this movie. i don't want it to have unnecessary cuts. it's already an 18+ movie then don't fucking cut. that's it
Exactly.Fuck them.
India is literally being more and more like China.
Then wait till comes to ott.
0:47 I felt a vibration in my I phone, did anyone noticed ???
Woah lol just realized RUclips does this on mobile as the chapters split in the video

🤝🤝
The censor board here in India is shit. Things have deteriorated significantly over the past decade. There were movies with more "religiously offensive" content that had no issue airing before. (The new political party has changed the country's atmosphere.) It's a shame I can't watch this movie; I was really looking forward to it. It even has a mostly Indian cast, many of whom I'm a fan of :/
Review the first omen
Monkey man scene kid hears music playing flash back happens we are in the moment of him and his mom being dead already kid is fighting getting beaten to death in the ring his mom shows up in the crowed here is the crow Eric grabs a wedding ring flash back happens of him and Shelly together in a romance scene Shelly pops up at different times in the real world to interact with Eric when it is important to the plot line a lot is there I’m not saying it was what he was going for or that it was intentional but he had a story that basically wrote it self and it is all there monkey is a god creature for the Indians with a dot on the head the crow is a god creature for the other Indians that have reservations and casinos
The saddest part to me is that the movie isn't releasing in India in his home country due to the absurd censorship .
I want to watch this movie in theatres. But only if they are not showing propaganda.

@@GoddessFreyaa There shouldn't be any as far as I know though I have not watched the movie.

It’s f…. a low end normal Bollywood movie.
Yea everything single thing in this country is propoganda its very easy to complain while sitting home
