Just a heads up guys. This video does indicate "paid promotion" at the beginning. I was not paid money or told what to say. Any products I ever get sent I always discuss things that are negatives I spot. The straps were sent for free (yes, lucky me!). I offer variety on this channel, and also try to earn a few quid to keep this going! I know I shouldn't explain myself, but I do need to defend myself from the inevitable along the way. Hope that helps. All the best, Dan. Ps. Thanks for watching x
$175. For a single watch strap. Is the rubber hand curated? Is the fake leather tanned from premium synthetic calves? Sorry, I’m not “dunking” on you. But there is just no way to justify that cost for a machine made strap. Even if the quality is high.
I agree they are very expensive, but comparable to other premium brand prices. I think I misjudged my regular audience with this one! I am trying to reach out to a more varied viewership though, and it's hard to please everyone. Expensive watches annoy the value hunters, cheap watches annoy some of the snobs!
Oh, I’m not annoyed. If I had the money where a Rolex wouldn’t be a huge expense I’d own a Rolex! If these straps are a “buy once cry once” proposition, well, I get that too. But that seems to be a stretch for such a low-tech item. At the end of the day, I’m sure I’ve wasted more $ on items that people would find equally ridiculous. 😂 This one just struck a chord. Can’t really say why…. Keep up the good videos. Even the ones that rile up old curmudgeons. 😅
I can't help thinking Artem straps would be significantly cheaper if they didn't send out quite so many to reviewers 🙄, the fact they send out 5 at a time with several clasps is an indication of the production costs......
I think a good follow up video to this would be a side to side comparison with the best straps from the Juelong Official Store…..they make some really nice ones at $10 and less.
I managed to get a couple of straps - 3 - from you a few years ago. Still wear them multiple times/week on a variety of watches. Wish you still sold them, buddy.
I'd have a problem telling all my friends (Steve), that my Escapement Time GS Homage, that i raved on about probably far too much, is only worth 25% of the whole package compared to the plastic strap worth 75%🤣❤
A little of subject but thought it was worth asking. Has anyone ever contacted sellers on Ali express to let them know how Ali express sale prices affect UK buyers? Maybe worth doing a video on this subject to try to influence sale prices for the UK. What I’m getting at is any watch on aliexpress sold below £135 is hit with 20% tax, so a watch that was maybe £160 before the sale reduced to let’s say £130 ..jumps back up to £156 inc tax. It does my head in …if they reduced price to £135 that’s the price UK buyers would pay. In a recent sale the Thorne shy036 Pelagos dropped from £162 to £124 (yes £124) but when tax was added back it jumped to £148. I tried to explain to the seller I would buy if they increased the price to £135 but this was lost in translation.
I'm not sure about the import tax . OK, it's under£135 there's no import tax. Due to the successful trade deal ( no satire here) now with Oz I'm not sure if one's purchase exceeds that there's still going to be a levee due. I researched this months ago actually to buy an Artem strap but found no confirmation (?). I shall ask my aunt to bring one back for me ( mmm new business idea??).
Even if they are great quality straps, they are way too expansive. Just be honest 😐 And please, you should specify that this is a sponsored video on the screen. As you said in the description : "I was not paid, but did receive these straps for free." 😉
Thanks. I did click the paid promotion tick when publishing the video and state in the description AND say Artem sent me these. I think I was pretty thorough!
In the end, no one gives af how much you pay for a strap. And no one can see how expensive it was. You literally have to tell people that you paid a ridiculous amount for a strap. 😂😂
Its all about what makes you happy, not impressing others. People are alarmed that I also own a £5000 watch, and could wear a San Marin thats "just as good". But the Omega makes me happy! It can be the same with a watch strap I believe.
Yes I did! Thanks for watching. As I said, I like to share more products from a brand I have purchased from and obviously happily received some for free so I can make reviews.
Fair enough, but these straps only really work price wise on watches heading above the +£1,000 bracket otherwise they cost a considerable chunk of an 'affordable' watch's value. I'd have no problem attaching it to a Tudor, Longines, Omega diver for example. Keep up the good work .
@@andywilliams4887 many thanks! I think if people watch the video intro in fulI, I discuss getting a posh strap for a posh watch. I know out of my 15k subs, many must have something they treasure in their collection they wish to treat with a lovely strap!
Again fair comment, but I doubt suggesting matching it to a Swatch x Omega Moonswatch is the way to go. The strap will last at least 1000 times longer than the watch itself...lol. Nonetheless, I respect your content and enjoy your vids.@@watchmewithwatches
Blatant infomercial! Yes they are excellent straps, especially the sail cloth ones and the deployment buckle. They are incredibly expensive however, even taking the quality into account. Did you say it was a paid review? I'm not trolling or anything.. Unless I'm mistaken this is the second time you have plugged these. This is time was very disappointing. Normally you do fantastic programs that are from your personal perspective and experience which makes really interesting shows. Those straps should be £60 max
To be honest, I like to share variety on this channel, and I was experimenting with sharing a product I wouldn't normally review. It seems the reactions from my valued subscribers has been quite negative, and this is a lesson learned. I was clear that these are expensive straps. I was clear that this is a "paid promotion" and wrote in the description how I received these straps. Its a shame people judge so quickly and demonise people for things like this.
As much as I really don't want to get involved I can't sit and watch. I think it's very easy to sit and criticize form behind a keyboard without knowing the full context or the background of the situation or realizing how much work goes into these reviews. You're definitely entitled to your opinion and we , as watch reviewers respect it but I don't think it's fair to sit there and accuse someone of misleading the audience. I dare anyone else with a regular job and kids to add an additional 20 hours a week to invest in a hobby and then you have the right to criticize. The platform is big , with all due respect, thank you for watching but please stop accusing without knowing the facts or understanding the process. Thanks for the video Dan and keep up the good work!

175 no thx, fkm straps on Ali are 3 quid and superb tbh
Yeah, totally agree 👍
That's true! Good old AliExpress saves the day.

@@dunderhay9169 I think you may be right!
Lol!! A strip of rubber now costs more than an entire leather hide! Pretty cheeky, if that's the correct term...
Lol! A damn fine hide

Me too! Competition was so strong I wasn't making many sales in the end sadly.
😮they are beautiful, but more expensive than a Hirsh Tiger

Thanks for the strap show but there won't be any trigger pull on these straps for me Be well my friend 👍

No point in mentioning they ship only from Australia, takes 2-4 weeks, and you have to pay import tax. Kinda important to know.
Seems like I really messed this one up!

Thanks for understanding
How much ??? And for that reason….I’m out !
I did warn people they are expensive!

There is no reason for these to cost as much as they do. Just a money grab.
Unless they are hand stitched by angels? I need to ask if they are....
