Bob Barker was the BEST game show host!
Hands down. He has class and charm and charisma and knew when and how to bust balls appropriately and with humour where all would laugh.
Idk I think viewers wnt down once drew took over.

It works well when you have a multi billion dollar studio backing you up but I agree with the sentiment 😂
Sometimes it can go really well for someone like in the case, but honesty is rewarding no matter if you gain something valuable or if youre the only gain is the peace of mind you get from it.
Now you cross the border illegally and you get all kinds of free stuff.

@@johnkrull7323Dude, the whole genre would be gone in 60 seconds if they tried covering up goofs like this. The FCC will shut down any show which doesn’t play by the rules.
And for the most diehard fans of this and other game shows, that would be a death blow to their mental health, just as if it happened to any of your favorite programs or entertainers.

I always appreciated that Bob kept me company whenever I was home sick from school....thanks Bob!
I used to love faking that I was sick and learning how to read the thermometer so I could put it on the light bulb. The price is right was the best part of the day. Making weird food and mixing different flavors of soda together was my other favorite thing. Those days were awesome. My parents were divorced and my Mom worked so it was like the first times I was ever alone or home alone. It was so much fun. That was probably around 1983-1985ish.

I think Drew Carey is a cool guy, too, but not quite the caring showman that Bob Barker always seemed to be
Being honest was the key, so Renee deserved to win the car.
He would have still won the car because of S&P rules.
He would’ve won it regardless because of game laws; however, it made for good TV by playing it that way. The vehicle company gets good PR too.
The person working the lights of the fair however was likely fired.

One time there was a kid who played Ten Chances and won all three prizes because the setup crew forgot to put the cards in that had the mixed up numbers of the prices.
Turned out there was actually an error with the board. All of the boards covering the actual price accidentally dropped down. It isn't shown in alot of the clips but it was discussed later in the show.
I also heard original set up man’s wife was having a baby

That was really cool of Bob and that was a good guy that deserved it, he didn’t even hesitate even when Bob asked multiple times if he saw it, he kept saying he did. Most people would’ve lied the 2nd time they’re asked.

What made Bob great was he made the bloopers fun. The woman who put the chip under the shell in Shell Game was great and Bob milked it for all it was worth.
