A 1985 Renault Alliance, what a fine automobile. I’m certain it’s 77 horsepower 1.7 liter engine is still running perfectly today and the rest of the car looks just as good as it did in the show.
“If you win the coffee maker, you don’t win the car.” Wait, what??? He explained that terribly, and wrong. I think she was TRYING not to get any of the other prizes right, which is the exact opposite to how you’re supposed to play it. I gotta have a word with Bob about this… oh wait, he just passed away. He lasted 99 years! That car was lucky to last one! Also, can we take a moment to appreciate the bids: 400, then 375. Not giving himself a big window there. Then 300 followed by: 295?! So, really banking on the price being within that 4 dollars. Could have said $1 and had every price up to 300, or 401 and had every price above 400. But she was confident the price was between 295 and 299. And the actual price was over $1k. Hilarious.
Rare for Bob, but yeah even understanding that game from years of watching it I was confused at the end of his explanation. You could tell Vickie was completely lost. At least it ended well for her.
No one pays the "actual retail price" which is usually close to the "suggested retail price." I used to laugh at some of those prices, like "what the heck?!!"😉💲
That game was the easiest giveaway because all you had to do was look at the numbers you had to move around. The choices you had were 1, 2, 4, 6, and 7 and you knew that it had to be #1 for the car because the iron cannot be $11 and the cookware cannot be $12 and the coffeemaker cannot be $10 and the wood finish cannot be $13. The EASIEST GIVEAWAY!!!!
@@kristenslice561 I know that however there is no way a good set of cookware is not $11 and there is no way a coffeemaker would have been $12. The wood stain would be more likely $20 than $10.
I was surprised the wood finish was so expensive. $23 for that tiny container in 1985? That's over $60 today. Maybe polyurethane was a newer product back then, and was still expensive. A whole quart today will run you 15-25 bucks, depending on what kind you get.

You win whatever prizes that you have the prices you have correct at the end of both guessing cycles. If Vicky had the iron right she would have won the iron. Because she had the prices correct for the wood finish and the car she won both of those. Winning the car isn't dependent on getting all five prices correct.
It wasn't explained particularly well - if you get the number correct in two items, you win those two items. If you got all 5 numbers correct, you'd win all 5 items.

Any prize that has a correct price, you win that prize, so make sure your guess on the car is correct! I always thought this game deserves a cool bonus for getting all five right.
I like this game except for the fact that because it is for a car AND small prizes, it required the show to play one extra "quicky" pricing game that day. Ditto if they play Pathfinder, Spelling Bee, Five Price Tags, Master Key, Pass The Buck, Hole in One (or Two), Stack the Deck or Let 'Em Roll. A "quicky" game is a game that is usually not played for a car AND does not have any small prizes or grocery items as part of the pricing game.
