That's crazy that the cichlid parents don't kill the tiny danios when defending their fry. Are the danios faster than the apistogrammas? I've kept kribensis before and they were too aggressive when spawning to keep with small dither fish in a 100 litre aquarium.
This is probably why my honey Gourami and celestial Pearl Danios "stopped" breeding once I added these guys... I thought it was just coincidence. Oops, guess I'll need a breeding tank for them.
Great video thanks. I feed Hikari micro pellets to my Glowlights A fair few platy fry seem to manage to survive in my tank but a local pet store is happy to take them, when they're big enough, so it's all good.
Definitely a nano species i want to keep, if ever have the chance ti get 15 to 20 of them im going to a species only setup, im just having a hard time finding them 😔
I found 3 of them in a fish store, they were schooling with a spotted danio species (no idea if it was tinwini, kyathit, or rerio). They are in my quarantine tank at the moment. I don't want to add them to the main tank until I can find more to make a proper school.
My experience with the Danios especially Zebra Danios and the GloLight Danios is not good at all. I had 3 glofish Danios that were gorgeous and they were in a tank with a Molly, a Betta and a snail, they were terrific, there was no aggression from any of those tank mates. However, I ordered some Panda Garras and some Guppies from a store close to me, but he was short one Panda so he substituted 4 glolight Danios in place of the Panda Garra. That was the beginning of sorrows for me and some of my fish. Those four little murderers wreaked havoc in my tank. They not only killed off 4 of my Panda Garras, but they took out my yellow Danio too. But in the process, both my Molly and the other 2 Danios became quite aggressive after the little devil's rampage of murder. So I thought that perhaps they would be better off having all the Danios in one tank. BIG MISTAKE. That night to ease their misery I had to euthanize my two colorful Danios, and three of the murderers are still in that tank. I since found out that glolight Danios are a close cousin to the Zebra Danio, and therefore have the same murderous tendencies. Something in the genetic modification of the Glo Fish Danios tones down their aggression, but no eradicate it.
Wow. Never heard of these guys being that aggressive. What size tank were they in? I just got 3 of them (all they had in the shop) to add to my main tank with panda garras and rosy barbs. The glowlight are still in the quarantine tank for the moment, I wanted to wait until I could get another 3 or 4 to make a school before adding to the main tank. Do you think yours got aggressive because they didn't have enough danios in their school to keep the fin nipping amongst themselves? I'm nervous to put mine with the other fish now😮
Great video about an overlooked fish
I occasionally feed mine springtails and I've never seen any fish clear them as quickly as they do.
Very good
Just discovered these beauties. I think my 40 gallon breeder tank will be perfect for them.
Very helpful thanks! I've been considering this fish for a while. The CPD's arent shy at all with them :)
Your dwarf cichlid definitely was trying to get more camera time😀
very interesting, thx
Great videos on this channel!

Great vid.
I like Mr Apisto, the photobomber; he stole the video... Although Glowlight Danios are beautiful and interesting little fish.

If you are in USA I believe aquahuna carries them and it's very affordable. I've had great success with getting them shipped

Another awesome species. Love the videos
Thanks 👍
My tank is 30" by 12" by 12" what do you think?
Great video! How many liters is you community tank here?
Thanks! It's a long and shallow 100 litre tank.
