Loved the video, could spend all day sitting on a station like that. Three cheers for all the people that maintain and run these wonderful heritage lines.
Hi Ron, What a lovely start to my day! I loved seeing your interesting take on Winchcombe this morning, loved your attention to detail and I learnt quite a lot about the station with what you showed. The music portrayed the wonderful atmosphere of yesteryear and I liked the way the video livened up at the end with the arrival of the engines!!!!! The short narration from you at the end was a welcome personal touch just to show us that you are not far away. This station is just another wonderful achievement of the GWSR. Many thanks and best wishes...Tim
Hi Tim, you didn't think I would miss out some engines did you? I wouldn't dare! Glad you enjoyed it, I never know if I have got it right or not, so your comments are valuable to me. Take care. Ron.
@@ParkinsonsWalks Noooooo never! Well, getting to know you and you leaving the engines out would have been dreadfully out of your character! By the comments on here today I think you have got it spot on.......Ron! Thanks and you both take care too...Tim.
My goodness! I am so far behind with your videos! I've decided to work backwards from here 😊. What a lovely little station...and so busy! I like that. If it's been rebuilt, it's a real credit to the volunteers, what an achievement!
Oh! Ron - absolutely wonderful. What a lovely film. Moving from b&w to colour really gave some nostalgia to the occasion. The music was enjoyable. Your commentary is always welcome but this time just the sounds of the railway and the music was lovely. Thank you so much for taking me along. Can't wait for the next episode next week.
Thanks Michael, hope all is well with you, They go to so much trouble to make these places look authentic, black and white seems to bring it out some how. Glad you enjoyed it. Take good care in these dangerous times. Ron
Some of your best work Ron, lovely bit of filming. It takes you back to the good old days. Wonder what they would make of the world today. More of the same please. Thank you for sharing. Keep safe and well.
Glad you enjoyed it John, I've got some film from the other stations on the GWHR so I might be able to do something similar with them. I'm not sure they would be impressed with everything in our world, but a mobile phone would get them going! Take care. Ron
I loved the black and white footage with the nostalgic music and then the gorgeous colour of the flowers after that initial segment. Did you get to go on one of the trains? My sister and I took a trip on the 7903 engine (not sure if that's an individual train or class of train) from Cheltenham to Winchcombe a few years back. We were supposed to go to Toddington on it, but due to a landslide, we weren't able to. But the trip to Winchcombe was a very pleasant day out for us and we got some nice photos - possibly some on here somewhere! I do love your videos and look forward to watching them. Thank you for sharing them x
Hi Catherine, this is my local railway and I usually ride it a couple of times a year if I can. Glad you enjoyed the film, if you see me there sometime come and say hello. P.W.
RONALD, WHAT IS THIS MUSIC PLEASE AND I SUGGEST ' CORONATION SCOTT ' BY VIVIAN ELLIS, A WORK I HEARD NIGEL OGDEN OF THE BBC RADIO 2 ORGANIST ENTERTAINS PROGRAMME, PLAY ON THE ORGAN OF ST LAURENCE CHURH DARLASTON WEST MIDLANDS DURING 1989, WHEN HE ALMOST ROCKED AND VIBRATED THE SMALL ORGAN TO PIECES WITH THIS VEY LIVELY ' MUSIC !!!!!.
