I personally like to think that the high wills formed in response to the faith of the people of Custodia.
Blasphemous as a whole has a strong theme in faith and seems to be a commentary on religion, extreme spanish christianity in particular.
So it would make sense that the only thing demanding redemption through punishment, is spawned from the very believe that to be redeemed one must be punished.

So what I guess from blasphemous so far:it is never mentioned that the high wills ever revealed themselves to a person.i assumed people just made a series of observations about their world and called whatever higherpowers there to be highwills.but they are frauds and not true gods.

Ahmad's interpretation is pretty much dead-on correct in the context of the original game with no DLC. Multiple mentions are made by various characters about "The High Wills" and the way it is written is vague: The Twisted One called out to anyone, any of The High Wills, for punishment and was answered. Again, being poetic and vague, it implies in these contexts of the characters and the Item Descriptions the idea that "High Wills" was a catch-all term for any Godly Power or Deity (bearing in mind this took place before The Church of the Miracle even existed, when the Twisted One was still human, so he wouldn't be calling out or praying to The Grievous Miracle). Presumably, it makes sense the Church would consider it Heresy to call something else other than The Miracle or Twisted One "God" in Custodia, so another term was used.
This is my main problem with DLC being used to retcon things the writers didn't have planned out. I'd rather not have DLC that makes it obvious the developers were looking for a more "conclusive" ending than the one in the original game, whether that be from complaints about the story and ending or from their own ideas after having made the game. To each their own, though.

There was some hints at the game of the high wills and that something would need to be done to end the miracle
Not really fraud, they came unto beign because of the people os custodia, so they are a true deity, but the procession in the other side of teh dream always existed, so they took control of the dream, and not created it.
I like to think that the High Wills are what the C-Consciousness from STALKER would have been if they had succeeded in taking full control of the noosphere.

Wrong. The miracle existed even before the High Will got to use the miracle for its own purposes. How they managed this was not explained.

@@harveyseno2790 I believe they created the Miracle, and since they revived the penitent one after the silent brotherhood massacre, to continue the ciclye, the penitent one died after killing them, because, with the high wills dead, the miracle ceased to exist
Maybe the massive red dude is another manifistation of the miricle. The next high will.
So… high wills or not, will there always be a grievous miracle and a penitent one to fight it?
My personal belief, is that there is a greater cycle in this world where the previous "gods" are destroyed only for the actions of the one who stopped them to become so revered and have so much faith behind them that it eventually just gives rise to a new being/beings that use that power to spread themselves and their wills.
I believed that the dude in the giant bloob is none other than the last visage that was banished under the knod of 3 words by his peers. Think of it, he is the last remaing part of the high will, and now he is free, to take his place in the sky.

Just make sure you go to Perpetva’s Tomb BEFORE you meet Esdras on the Bridge of Three Cavalries. This will ensure that you do NOT battle him so that you can obtain the special items needed to obtain the true ending.
I believe high wills were just normal creatures living in the Dream who had the ability to manipulate matter and time physical world but not their realm they heard the prayers one day and decided to act reply but they realized they got stronger each time someone prayed to them and abused it penitent was able to kill them, because he was the heretic of heretics so it nullified the extra powers they got from believers and prays
As the High Wills turned to be the great villians, who resurrects the Penitent One, time and time again? Even those cherub like creatures are servants of the High Wills, but trapped by the Miracle...
The High Wills did not resurrect the Penitent one. The High Wills lost the favor of the Miracle. The Miracle itself directly made the resurrection of the Penitent one happen and allowing the disfavored (last son of the miracle and the high will) ones to be taken out.
@@harveyseno2790 The discussion in the community goes around if the Miracle and the High Wills are the same or if the Miracle comes from the High Wills as a manifestation of them, but it's the first time I read that the Miracle is above the High Wills.

im confused, if the cherubs are servants of the High Wills, then how come they were in charge of relieving people from their pain and suffering in Cvstodia, which said pain and suffering is what gives the High Wills greater power? Not to mention them carrying the Penitent One from the heavens after you die, seems like they’re in favor of the Penitent of completing his pilgrimage.
@@paulkuchnicki6404 there seems to be a third god running around who seems to be more benevolent, at least from a theory I once read, basically imagine the high wills as false god's, a idol trying to take worship away by appearing as three heads or whatever and claiming the work of another, the miracle is more a case of something like the primordial chaos able to do things but not much power up in the old brain case, my best guess is this third god is more like the Abrahamic God, a being working more in the back ground and very rarely if ever revealing himself, but when he does shit goes down fast, effectively if this theory of a third benevolent god who is more like the Abrahamic God, then that could also go with the theory or whatever that's the high wills looked up in their space and saw something that made them cry gold for all time, perhaps what they saw was this thirds god form and sense their not mortal they didn't die horribly instead they just cry gold as a by products
so this game has a new ending now how do I get to it could I just play the game normally or do I have to do hard mode
you can do normally, but you must complete a special quest alongside the mainstory

You know The High Wills remind me of the Holy Trinity were God is three persons you know The Son, The Father and The Holy Spirit I wonder what the Fourth Visage represents

A more obvious parallel to the trinity would be;
High Wills = Father
Twisted One = Son
The Miracle = The holy ghost
Personnaly, I thought the fourth visage would be revealed to represent the contrition of forgiveness, since christians values without forgiveness at the end gives us a world pretty much like Cvstodia. Thought that would have been an interesting twist, but oh well.

True he is 1 of the 4 Visages not High Wills. The other 3 banished him after they knew about his betrayal.
I didn't like this new ending. It's been done forever. The previous one was better.
I believe they retconned in the latest ending to set the stage for the sequel. I also prefer Ending A.
