Excellent video, probably the clearest and best explanation of the difference between the chip shot and the pitch shot that I have seen to date. Funnily enough, I thought your two demo pitch shots were noticeably better than the chip shots...in spite of being more difficult type of shot and more prone to mistakes.
Thanks Geoff! I appreciate the compliment. Haha true observation on the pitch shots, but under normal conditions if the greens hadn’t been recently aerified I would have been closer with the bump and run 👍.

It is something most golfers don’t take into account, but depending on your level of experience a great way to analyze this is to hit 10 shots each with 2 club choices. Sometimes I will get a student to hit 10 in a row with a 56 or 60* then compare the results against 10 shots with a bump and run shot if the situation calls for it. 95% of the time the bump and run (7 or 8 iron) worst shots will outperform the 56 or 60* worst shots. “The name of the game isn’t hitting perfect shots, it’s about making your misses better.”
A clear ,easy to follow & helpful video .Thank you.
Thanks Alan. Glad you enjoyed it and you’re welcome.
LOVED this because I hit SO few greens I'm always pitching and chipping and save a lot of strokes with this kind of instruction!!
Thanks Tommy! Glad you enjoyed it. Keep us posted on how you do

Great video. Good explanation of the difference.
Can you please do one where you have the same shot but in thick rough?
Ryp gram, thanks for the compliment. As for hitting out of thick rough. Absolutely, I will add that one to the list. 👍
Hey ryp gram, just letting you know I posted a new video answering your request. Hope you enjoy!
This was a light bulb moment for me. Great video and explanation. Thanks Bo
Thanks Mark! Glad it helped.

I have NEVER heard of thinking about missing the shot in to which shot to hit.
