I learned so many things from this video I have no idea where to begin-THANK YOU! The full page screenshot on my iPhone will be put to use often. Believe it! 👏🏼
I've recently moved from Windows and one of the things I was really missing was the "Snipping Tools" ability to snip and save straight to the clipboard! Thanks David - you've saved me many minutes of frustration finding my saved screenshots and uploading them as attachments!
Great video! I learned a lot! I have been using CMD Shift 4, but what you teach is way better! To make jpeg as default format is definitely a plus. Thanks, David!
Love your videos, learn a great deal from you. But for the terminal part, did you mean this line ( defaults write com.apple.screencapture type JPG) for the terminal to change the format from PNG to jpg. i am a bit confused. Thanks if you can help.
Great video and very helpful tips, just one point my iPad Pro 10.5 screenshot is power and home button not power volume up..kind regards Alan (Australia)
I have many duplicate photos. Curse of the digital camera. I’ve tried several apps but they were not effective. Will Duplicate app you recommend work ? I’m running Big Sur.
Why are the full-screen screenshots I take on my iPad so small? They're illegible when emailed to a desktop! (I take them by pressing the front and edge buttons simultaneously) Thanks!
Great tutorial David. Thanks. I can only use Cmd + Shift + 3, & Cmd + Shift + 4 for my screenshots. Cmd + Shift + 5 doesn't do anything. Any ideas ? Thanks again.
Hello David I've learned many of your lessons. but the video about screenshots does not work. the comando cmd shift 5 is with me cmd shift 3 terminal entered defaults writecom.apple.screencapture.type jpeg no result maybe the language is a problem,I'm dutch with vr gr Henk
You’re probably using an older operating system in regards to command shift 5. As to the terminal code I can’t speak as to what it would be in other languages but a quick google search should find it.
Hi. Thanks for your help. I am having a terminal issue. This is what happens when I try the terminal command. Thanks, teacher. How do you take a screen shot on iPhone? Also, how do you tell if the default file format was successfully changed from PNG to JPG?
very helpful..

Hello David. As mentioned by others many times GREAT VIDEO'S. A question for you "where do the screen recordings get saved to". Thank you in advance.
I have many duplicate photos. Curse of the digital camera. I’ve tried several apps but they were not effective. Will Duplicate app you recommend work ? I’m running Big Sur.
Isn't File-Export to pdf on Mac safari same as full page screenshot on iPhone/iPad ?
Thank you!
Using iPad pro. Can only use one hand [stroke]. How to take screenshots?
Why are the full-screen screenshots I take on my iPad so small? They're illegible when emailed to a desktop! (I take them by pressing the front and edge buttons simultaneously) Thanks!
Nice video Dave, but it didn’t address my problem. I wish to screenshot from a Netflix movie on my iPad but the image comes out black. Any ideas.?
That's because it's illegal to do that. They have copyright protections to prevent you from being able to do that.
Do you know when you will be coming out with part two of how to use power photos
Does Microsoft has the same ability to change the settings (ie the quality of the screenshot)?
Nice
I have tried to apply Command + Shift + 5 but I nothing happens - can anyone advise what I need to do in order to get that toolbox open?
3:20 jajajaja epic
👌
Great tutorial David. Thanks. I can only use Cmd + Shift + 3, & Cmd + Shift + 4 for my screenshots. Cmd + Shift + 5 doesn't do anything. Any ideas ? Thanks again.
You’re on an old operating system
@@TechTalkAmerica Thanks.
@@TechTalkAmerica what operating system should we be using to use this function?
Hi David! Great Video. What do you recommend for photo editing on Mac.
Affinity or Pixelmator are both great and no monthly fees

How do I escape from Command -- Shift --- 5 after I've taken the picture? Did I miss something in your presentation?
Click the close button
Hi. Thanks for your help. I am having a terminal issue. This is what happens when I try the terminal command.

I found the issue with the terminal command all by myself! This is the proper terminal command:

@@petercdube Thanks. THis fixed my problem.
Thank you for catching the mistake. Points!
It's crazy. A lot of people still don't know how to take a screenshot
Your video said 15% off the photo app but the link is for 10%. Just saying the two aren't the same.
Did not work for me. Here's what it says in Terminal:
defaults write com.apple.screencapture JPG
2020-09-01 15:33:46.047 defaults[25427:1216664]
Rep argument is not a dictionary

apologies. Fixed. here's the correct code: defaults write com.apple.screencapture type JPG
@@TechTalkAmerica Brillant, works now, thanks!
