I've just activated my DV by entering for the first time the US. I'm actively looking for a job in the US but I want to secure it before moving permanently and leaving both my country & current job abroad.
Make sure you don't exit the US without your green card in hand. Because you need it to re-enter. If you plan to travel abroad for longer than 6 months, you've got to inform USCIS before your planned travel.

Interviews start in October for earliest case numbers.
Most interviews will be in 2025

What about late submission, what time will be late?
@@ronaldkigame5674 They don't put a time frame on it.. You can wait until the last day of the program year.. BUT, the catch is, they need time to process it.. So if you wait too long, then there's a chance it will not process.. And even if you become current, you won't get interview because it hasn't been processed. A bit risky to wait for a significant amount of time.

@@ronaldkigame5674 I would say it depends on how low your case number is- if you have a lower number for your region, I'd imagine getting it processed in time before you become current is ideal.. But I would try to get it completed as soon as possible. If you are waiting to input information (like US Destination address), that can always be amended later if you send an unlock request to KCC.
There's no real yes or no answer for this. If you must wait until those months, then so be it, they will still have a year to process from September for 2025. In theory, that should be plenty of time.

You don't have to submit the DS-260 right away, but it is recommended to not wait too long because ample processing time is needed. If you think it'll be some time before the passport is obtained, you can always select "other travel documents" and ask KCC to unlock your case- then amend the information at a later date. I'd like to add, would recommend to let the officer know at the time of your interview as well.

Unfortunately that is an expired year.. You will need to reapply in October for 2026.

I applied for DV lottery for the first time for DV2025. Didn't know much. I got help by iVisa. I did not know you were such a huge help here in RUclips.
I was not selected, but i will try again for DV2026. I am form Denmark. I am trying to find a job and work on a visa until i will be able to achieve a greencard. I think it's a tough process finding a job as a Dane. I am well educated, but i am not a professor that can provide something another person can not. I want to start a business and be self employed in the states. But i have to start somewhere, with a job. If anybody know where a foreign Dane will be able to search for available jobs in the US, i will gladly know. Any help is appreciated.
