O girl that verse at the end was just what I needed. Thank you Lord. Been having a hard time the last few days. Isn’t it wonderful the way our Lord always knows what you need when you need it. He always sends a helper. Thank you also for your kind sweet heart ❤️.
We have a homemade popcorn garland my daughter made with her grandpa when she was 4. She's 47 now and that garland is still on the tree every year. Sweet memories are a blessing.
Memories like that are the best! Especially ones like this that are so heartfelt and it becomes a tradition that can be passed down throughout each generation! ❤️ I remember my childhood best friend from church would string popcorn every year and they would put it on a certain tree outside in their front yard. One year I was 8 years old (I'm 39 now) I was spending the night with her and it was the night that they made the popcorn garland and I got to help them make it while we watched Christmas movies. The next morning we went outside after breakfast and put the garland on the tree. That was a good memory that I've always had and it's actually the only time in my whole life that I made garland like that.
Hi Amy!!! :) We used to do cute buckets of snacks for our family of 10 (7 kids + grandma) but then I was given a guilt trip from grandma that we never did stockings and we were depriving our kids somehow. 😬🙃 So last year, grandma bought everyone a stocking and insisted we use them so we went that route. First world problem (I know) and I don't mean to complain, but everyone missed their buckets full of snacks, books, crafts, small gadgets, etc. They would tote them around, use them to organize toys or books on their bookshelf afterward, etc. Win win. Also, I had such a hard time trying to hang all of those heavy stockings and resorted to a curtain rod under the mantle, lol. Grandma realized that the large family mama kinda knew what she was doing and agreed that the buckets were best....so we are back to that this year.🙌🙌🙌 Thanks for sharing what you do....you gave me some great ideas!!❤🙏
When I lived in Alaska they did ice sculptures and we would go and see them when they started and again when they were done. Miles of sculptures. They were AMAZING!!!!! There were sculptures of cars and mermaids all sorts of stuff depending on what the theme of the year was.
We had stockings as kids. We always had an apple, orange, a jar of olives, mittens or gloves, hat and a lifesaver book in the stocking and a jar of Heinz Genuine Dill Pickles under the stocking. The pickles and olives were our favorites. Other than the lifesavers, we never got candy. My father would always buy a case of dill pickles at Thanksgiving and would have to hide it from us. Our favorite lunch was a pickle sandwich which was wonderbread and sliced pickles (not healthy, but loved them all the same).
I do the same with three adult children and one partner. We call them favourites boxes, they have their favourite snacks, favourite shampoo, soaps, etc. Since I’ve done that I’ve found I’ve spent the same amount as a stocking but nothing has gotten wasted. I love see your Christmas lights, here in Australia it’s not the same as how you celebrate in the US.
My mom gives us “supply” boxes that has laundry stuff, tp, soap, etc and tons of candies and snacks. It’s honestly one of my favorite gifts every year :)
Morning Maryon family, When we moved to Michigan we also noticed that there were no places to see lights. Disappointing because we have a park in Wheeling WV that evey year does a drive through light show. It has been there since I can remember. My children now take my Grandchildren there. Our little town has also stated having a Nutcracker village. A local family builds Nutcracker in different uniforms. Such as a librarian, police officer and they are now up to 200 of them that they display in downtown area. People can now walk or drive through downtown and see them. They also have little stands set up at our Fort and amphitheater for people to by popcorn, hot coffee and coco and I do believe in future the goal is to have performances at the amphitheater. Have a great day. God bless
I actually started doing the basket/bin for my son about 5 years ago! It's absolutely the best thing ever! I'm actually going today to finish getting the rest of his stuff to go in it today. I also get his basket or bin at Dollar Tree or Big Lots. He also has a stocking too and I do put a little bit of candy in it but the rest goes in his basket. He'll be 16 in February and I also think older boys are hard to buy for lol! Things I normally put in his basket are also the same as what you do. Beef jerky, dried fruit, trail mix, fuzzy socks, gloves, toboggan/beanie hats, ear buds, goldfish or cheese its, deodorant, his favorite body wash and shampoo, a toothbrush, chapstick, ink pens, drawing/sketch paper, a few halo oranges, the little packs of hand warmers to put in his pockets on snow days or when he's working on our farm bringing in firewood and always a box of his favorite chocolate covered cherries. He normally puts his basket or bin at his desk and keeps his stuff for homeschooling in it. Ever since the first year I started doing this I think he was 11/12 years old and he absolutely loves it! I think it's so cool to hear that you do the same thing as well. You're actually the only person I've heard of that does this besides myself! I think it's so much better than just a stocking full of candy. He also discovered this summer that dried pineapple is his absolute favorite! I love it as well and it's the one thing I haven't been able to find anywhere this year. I'm actually debating on making some in my dehydrator if I can't find any while I'm out shopping today. Sorry for such a long comment. I just thought I'd share our ideas as well to maybe help someone else out. Hope you have a great day Amy! 😀
Definitely not just a southern thing. Well in Oregon we have done it every year since I was kid. We have a place here that sets up lights each year it's $10 a car load and they do free nights also (bring 5 can food items, different bank members etc) plus we all drive around neighborhood's and look at the houses decorated. 💜💙 My favorite time of year.
My mom is from England and our stocking had the same thing in it every year! A new pair of really thick hand knit socks, a very big orange and Fruit Pastels from England! A very tasty candy similar too but not quite fruit gummies as they are not as sweet. We and I as kids and adults still love them! She still sends them to us as adults too! We are a little spoiled! A little reminder of Xmas past!
Love the idea of snack bins. My mom made velvet bags many many years ago to use instead of stockings. As kids and grands got married, bags were shared among the couple. As babies joined the family, mom made more bags. She also had silver disc charms engraved with our name on them. She sewed the discs on the bags. Mom and dad are in the 80’s now. Last year she stopped stuffing bags for the adults. This year she has stopped doing her he grands and great grands. She has passed down the bags to each of us. I inherited mine, my Children’s, and my grands. We will be using them this year instead of stockings
You're such an amazing mother 💜 you're doing so much for your family and the idea with the christmas bins is genius 🧸 if I ever have children I'll do the same 💜
Yep we have light shows, decorated neighborhoods, Kalamazoo Mi had Christmas Card Lane, big Cards in each houses yards, now we are north Michigan it’s hit or miss, love your channel
I'm in Iowa and we have several. one for make a wish foundation thats at the theme park and one at another spot. there are also neighborhoods that go ALL OUT with themes and stories you can walk or drive thru. its so fun!
Got my adult daughter an air fryer and instant pot last year. She said it was the best Christmas she’s ever had. Lol. Hoping she likes what I got her this year as they are a bit more personal.
Mommy needs a break from everyday life once in awhile 💯💯💯💯🤗💖 Especially Mommies that works as hard as you 🙌 Thank You for sharing your Family Quality Time ✨🙏✨Wow That is a great idea 🙌🙌
Good morning Amy Love the idea of the snack bins. I usually have stockings for my great nieces n nephews but it all never fits! Lol So I think this is a terrific idea and there’s time to buy them. Breakfast, lunch and dinner sound delicious and comforting. Things always get done but it does throw you when you fall out of your routines. But it’s okay is right. We roll along and eventually get back on track. Thanks for sharing a day in your life. Thank you for today’s reading from Matthew, truly appreciated. Have a fantastic and blessed day.
We have a place here in iowa called reflections in the park it’s a nice drive through light show. Might go again this year. Walking through yours looks like fun! I have so many videos to catch up on I been working 12 hour days as a nanny so I havnt been able to watch your videos daily. ;( but I’m catch up on them now. I love your big family. I’m 33 wish I could have a big family. Anyways just wanted to say your videos are great! Keep them coming. I love hearing about god and church it makes me feel better about my day. Also, love your gather your fragments. It’s nice because when I get stuck on what to make for the week I watch your videos and it helps thank you!
Amy, I wanted to say Thank you for the update on baby Samuel. I am glad to hear Lauren's little family is doing well. I am pleased they are keeping things private. All I was hoping for was an announcement saying the baby is here and he and momma are doing well. Now I have that. (Yes, I'm pretending the baby Samuel talk was all for me.)
Amy what a good idea. Yes I am a year late with my comment but someone has to be. When my eldest was about 5 we decided to put his stocking downstairs and his new bike beside the bed. We woke up to hear him crying, never mind the new bike - where was his stocking. Kids are funny.
We do stockings but do candy and snacks in them also. Then we move everything to the "candy drawer" with their stuff in a ziplock bag and their name on it to last for a while :-) This yr instead of buying 5 of everything, I got their wishlist too to buy their favorite candies and snacks individually
Dear Amy - I have been watching your videos as a comfort, since you have such a positive attitude towards life and each day. I'm not a believer, nor a mom, but somehow your videos make me feel totally at home and comforted! I also enjoyed the verse at the end of the video - It's an anxious time and it really spoke to me :)
Our stockings have an orange in the toe, new socks and underwear next, then perfume and a box of orange sticks for me and one special loved treat and a dvd or other item for everyone else. Not a bunch of candy. We love the stockings.
I am the same but with my phone, prefer heavier one rather than lighter as it always slips easily from my hand, my son loves those wallets, they are a great gift, but hubby has to have a little pocket or zipper area to put a couple of his bp pills. Recently, I bought him a phone wallet which are fabulous, as you can keep some change in it, and the credit cards you need for the errand you run without having to reach in your pocket( or handbag in my case) , he loves that!
Loving all your videos.. I don't comment a lot but I follow your channel... God bless you.. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a very prosperous new year...
I’m still waking up in the mornings wanting to put shorts and a t-shirt on. I sit for a second, shaking my head and wondering where does the time go!! Last week we had such cold weather I wanted to wear my winter coat, yesterday then this morning I open the door to warm temperatures, could easily wear shorts with a sleeve shirt..It’s not so much about the cold, it’s seriously where does time go?! Today I’m going through thousands of old photos, marking ones in my phone to print…dividing them between Sean and Kylie. I think I will put them in an album for them…They will appreciate that. Oh, the snacks…love that idea, thanks Am’s, I’m on it this afternoon! 🙂 Have a beautiful day xo 🤗
Hi Amy. I absolutely love your channel & your wonderful cheerful personality. Wishing you & your beautiful family a very Merry Christmas & all the best in the coming New Year.
Hi Amy I'm from Michigan Battle Creek Michigan had something like that, My husband and I used to take our kids to go do that once a year when they were younger.
If you can go to Tanglewood park in Clemmons NC outside of Winston . They have a park that you can drive through with lights. It can be busy , but worth it and it goes by the how how many cars you are driving through
Becky over @ Acre Homestead... That's who did the freeze dried candy... I binge watch her and you!!! Y'all are top two RUclipsrs hands down in my opinion :)
Great snack ideas! We have 2 adult sons and I fill up “stockings/bags” for them. My husband has been giving them a tool every Christmas, since they were around 10, and I’ve always given them some type of body care items. I think they look forward to their stocking more than their big ticket items. LOL And we started the same tradition with our grandson and he loves it. Our sons are now 35 and 37, so they have a bunch of tools now. And our grandson is getting a nice collection of tools as well. Our younger son is an Executive Chef, so he will be preparing our food for Christmas Eve and Day, so we’re excited for that. I hope you and your beautiful family have a very Merry Christmas!❤️🎄❤️
WE have a light show here in DesMoines Iowa and all the proceed's go to Make a Wish Foundation. This helps them grant more wishes for very sick children.
Hey lady....I'm telling you what ..I'm 3 days behind on doing cookies...I'm like,o m g...lolol Got a lot going on right now in the family so gotta deal with that. But you are definitely right,we just gotta 'roll with it' my fav motto. Have a great weekend.
Hey Amy. I think the channel that you were speaking of may have been "Acre Homestead". She does try out freeze drying many things and she made several freeze dried candies to see how they worked out.
Becky aka Acre Homestead I think is who you mean.. Her freeze dried candy video was awesome . now my kids want to do that lol *The snack bins are an idea I'll keep for next year we don't really stuff their stockings cause well it won't fit usually its candy and things my mom finds
My boys have been enjoying the meiji snacks and the Ramune sodas for several years now. They love Oriental treats and snacks, as well lol How to say Ramune... Rah*Mew*Nay (make sure to roll the R lol)
I love the snack bins you do for the kids. My kids like most of the stuff you got for your kids too! They love the soda with the marble in it. Have a wonderful day!
MI had/has light shows, I remember you saying you lived near the Blue Water Bridge, so they'd all be about 1-2 hours from you (the big ones I know of anyway, there could be smaller ones closer).
Good morning. I like the idea of a basket instead of stocking. They are never big enough. I don't put much in them, but when you get into shampoo etc, they don't fit. Does your bread taste like cinnamon with the cinnamon, gingerbread man & potpourri? We have light shows here in the northern new england. Some you walk through and some you drive through. I love Christmas lights & fireworks. Have a fabulous blessed thursday & I will see ya tomorrow
Just wondering if Lauren had her baby yet I haven't heard and I've been in and all the hospitals just wondering have a Merry Christmas and Happy New years to your family God bless you and you all stay safe
Be aware that a lot of different beef jerky has salt peter in them. Bueno are delicious. Always nice to get the small stuff done & out of the way - aren't you afraid they'll look in their box before christmas? LOL ... VERY GOOD IDEA - holds more than a sock - lol ... Does anyone take the gingerbreadman off the tree & eat it? They look very cute. You want to be MY mom? LOL - FANTASTIC IDEAS! I've put popcorn & cranberry stringed on christmas trees outside - birds love it. I'm still looking for a couple of you neat looking cookie sheets - lol ... I've sent this video to several people I know - hope you don't mind - THANK YOU for once again a FABULOUS video of how to get things done! ❤🇨🇦
My children are grown but they love getting their stockings. Not candy but stuff like body wash, toothpaste, toothbrush, razors, brush, makeup just items for themselves. Do your children know everything they are getting for Christmas gifts? Do they get a surprise gift something they don’t know about? Just curious. Mine always loved getting something that they wasn’t expecting. I hope y’all have a very merry Christmas 🎄!
Be careful about magnetic items around your credit cards, nice gift ideas, we heard that you shouldn't have anything magnetic around your credit cards because it will mess them up.We pray that you and your family have a blessed Christmas and Happy New Year ahead, we appreciate you sharing a small part of your family life etc.with us all, may God continue to pour out His many blessings on each and everyone, stay well and be safe out there. Keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers.🙏🐦💝🐨🙏

Yes the buckets are wonderful even if you only have one child like myself.
I would this is what i would do keep tradition also. I know family feuds.

I get excited when I find those pickles in the store today!
Smiling. I love this story I will have to look for them
Trying to catch up your vlogs. This is the shot of love I need. Very much thank you for the love❤❤
That's more than I put in stockings and they're chocked full!!!
I love this idea
Hello Amy!! You need to make a shirt or coffee mug that says “it’ll be delicious “.
Morning Maryon family,
When we moved to Michigan we also noticed that there were no places to see lights.
Im from PA, OH, MO, and IN and we grew doing it as a family! ♡♡♡ Now we do it with our girls here in NC.
Ops left KY out lol
Love the bins idea! They hold lots more than stockings. Great idea Amy!!

You're such an amazing mother 💜 you're doing so much for your family and the idea with the christmas bins is genius 🧸 if I ever have children I'll do the same 💜
Doing the same for my kids, especially my youngest, he's home doing virtual school and is constantly hinting at things "perfect" for his desk.
Yep we have light shows, decorated neighborhoods, Kalamazoo Mi had Christmas Card Lane, big Cards in each houses yards, now we are north Michigan it’s hit or miss, love your channel

Good morning Amy
Love the idea of the snack bins. I usually have stockings for my great nieces n nephews but it all never fits! Lol
So I think this is a terrific idea and there’s time to buy them.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner sound delicious and comforting.
Things always get done but it does throw you when you fall out of your routines. But it’s okay is right. We roll along and eventually get back on track.

That's a neat idea to fill the bins with the treats instead of a sock with the treats. TFS. I like the different sweet treats. They look fun.

Great ideas for the kids stockings/bins. Love the gingerbread men on the tree. I love the traditional ornaments. Have a Blessed day.
You are such a good momma
Our stockings have an orange in the toe, new socks and underwear next, then perfume and a box of orange sticks for me and one special loved treat and a dvd or other item for everyone else. Not a bunch of candy. We love the stockings.

The walk through was awsome thank you . it took lots of time to put all that together.
Great ideas!!!! I live in Asheville and my aunt is in Zirconia. You guys should try the Grove Park in they have gingerbread houses on display.
I might know her ❤️ we tried one year going and got turned away...is there a better time to go and almost be guaranteed to get in? Would love to
We did drive threw light show same area it's really nice place then we did another one too Shadracks I think the name is... Both were great lights...
Yes we didn't get to do shadracks this year...maybe still we will see
WE have a light show here in DesMoines Iowa and all the proceed's go to Make a Wish Foundation. This helps them grant more wishes for very sick children.
Yes, Acre homestead, Becky made the freeze dried candy last week. When is Lauren due Amy? It must be soon? Merry Christmas to you all
Thanks for sharing that. She did. I shared two days ago
Great vlog. Really enjoyed
Such a great idea! Thank you Amy.💜
Hey lady....I'm telling you what
..I'm 3 days behind on doing cookies...I'm like,o m g...lolol
Got a lot going on right now in the family so gotta deal with that. But you are definitely right,we just gotta 'roll with it' my fav motto.
Have a great weekend.
Hey Amy. I think the channel that you were speaking of may have been "Acre Homestead". She does try out freeze drying many things and she made several freeze dried candies to see how they worked out.
Yes thank you
Excellent video, much needed.
Becky aka Acre Homestead I think is who you mean.. Her freeze dried candy video was awesome . now my kids want to do that lol *The snack bins are an idea I'll keep for next year we don't really stuff their stockings cause well it won't fit usually its candy and things my mom finds
We have a chief who does good price on meal kit. You just heat and eat. They are great for a new mom and dad gift set.
The little make candy or mini foods are like big kid play doh kits! Hahahahaha
My boys have been enjoying the meiji snacks and the Ramune sodas for several years now. They love Oriental treats and snacks, as well lol
How to say Ramune... Rah*Mew*Nay (make sure to roll the R lol)
Buckets for the kids, a wheel barrow for Greg 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love the snack bins you do for the kids. My kids like most of the stuff you got for your kids too! They love the soda with the marble in it. Have a wonderful day!
MI had/has light shows, I remember you saying you lived near the Blue Water Bridge, so they'd all be about 1-2 hours from you (the big ones I know of anyway, there could be smaller ones closer).
Okay that is good to know 😊
Yes, Becky from the homested did the frezze candy, and It´was great. She is my favorite yotuber.
love this idea
You know what is so funny. Ekster is the Dutch word for a magpie. Which makes a lot of sense, because those birds are into shiny things. :)😂
Love your ideas! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Good morning 🌞
Morning ☀️

Happy Christmas to you and ur family I hope you all have lost over fun to
Be aware that a lot of different beef jerky has salt peter in them. ❤🇨🇦
Lol no they are good not to peak 😂
@@amymaryon LOL - very blessed you are for sure! Enjoy your day & again - thank you.
We do some surprises too .mostly whatever they pick but dad and i do some shopping alone
Great ideas thank you! 💕
Ok Amy, we need a baby update!
Wow...
