- Many people in Iceland believe in little hidden people - huldufólk - or elves. Or so surveys suggest. But do they really? And could we all do with a bit of this magic?

10 years or so ago I had a couple of interesting encounters of the hidden folk whilst I lived in a caravan on the edge of an ancient woodland in Leicestershire U.K. .. Magical moments, and so grateful to have experienced their presence ..
did they speak. what did they do?
Oh please elaborate.
Where abouts? I live in Leicester
No matter how much we think stuff like this doesn’t exist...remember this... all legends have their truths to them...
Yes for that..
Except for the ones that don’t.
No they don't... Its based on imagination and being scared of your surroundings. Imagine living in rural iceland in turfhouses in the dark and cold with no electricity.
@Ola Askjer. Dont speak on behalf of people you dont know. I have lived on a farm in iceland all my life so I can say that nature doesnt make people irrational. In fact most icelanders would be offended if you bring up this do you believe in elves crap. Fun stories but not real.
suit your self
The elves, gnomes, fairies, goblins etc. are commonly also called the fae. They are all considered "cousins" to each other. And of course they exist. This, and other dimension(s) are their home. They can move in and out of them. Just as it's ridiculous to think we are the only life in the Universe, it is ridiculous to think the animals in the zoo plus some others, are the only other beings that exist here.
Well done Iceland, and of course Elves are real
Who is here? after watching Eurovision! 😀
Me 😂
I absolutely LOVE Fire Saga!!!
Me🤣🤣🤣🤣 The movie opened my curiosity I'm now so interested in elves😎
Jaja dingdong!
Me 😂
I associate with the fae folk. And respect them. The first one I SAW, clear as you or me, was a gnome standing on a boulder waving at me. I waved back, he smiled and went into his boulder.
I have it too. In saranjana Ocean and uwentira Forest. When they rule in our world. They dont hv line between nose and lips due to underspellnto blend with US. And run on few of humans family. When they showed off, they have a same height as human. Their ears are pointy. So, yeah, they are tropical elves.
In Albania we call them " Zana e Malit" and many generations believed in them . There are still some places in the mountains that locals are afraid to enter like caves wich may br populated by Zanas a.k.a Elfs.
I love the Icelandic accent
I BELIEVE IN ELVES!!!! 💕 🧁 🤗 🎀 ✨
I'm an Indian and inspite of being Hindu we believe that elves Exists and I'd love to meet them. We call eleves Ribhus...they are found in India too...
I think it's not in spite but because Hinduism is polytheistic
@@RoyalKnightVIII nope we're not polytheistic. We're henotheistic. We believe in many gods. But their source is one absolute god of Universe. Above him is none. He's called Bramhan or spell it Brumhun. You can google it if you want.
Yes these kinds of "mythological creatures" / nature spirits exist in all (pre-abrahamic) cultures!! In sweden we have many diffrent kinds, cheers
You have elves in India too? Wow elves are everywhere.
So I'm a Norse Pagan, and I love the fact that our religions are related. Both faiths (and a lot of others) come from the same origin, the Proto Indo Europeans. At one point they had the same language, culture, religion, and overall way of life. They spread across much of Asia and Europe, which is why the faiths are pretty similar to this day. You call one god Indra, and I call him Thor. It's the same god in the end though.
I felt Iceland people mentality same like our tribe people. We also have super natural being living in rocks. We also have a rock in my land were super natural being lives according to my family. Also we have a place in my land were you can hear them playing drum
Perhaps Icelandic elves or Hidden People opened the recent Fagradalsfjall volcano to release the enormous pressure that would otherwise have caused more damage. Maybe they made sure that the outbreak takes place in a closed valley that is easy to observe, and in an uninhabited area where no one can be harmed. ;-)
🌱gotta start somewhere? Ok I'll make my Comment: I LOVE ELVES, and I hope they love me too!💓
The people seem warm & wonderful, I want to hug em all!😁 Thanx for doing the video! 😃
They care for and love where they live, simple. It is not much, but it is home. Americans, myself included, have taken advantage of what we had and where we came from. The united states used to be a magical far away land, that everyone wanted to see with their own eyes. A dream long past. There is a price for every action and we are paying what is due.
Fascinating. The longer I live, the more I see that cannot be explained, and that truth is stranger than fiction.
I believe on elves and trolls and fairys
Same
In Irlande, we say people like elves live in the Sidh, that means the Other World. I don't know who would like to get rid of such a story... If it is only a story !
I would love to visit Iceland someday. I believe in Elves!
I believe in elves🥰
Me too. Hobbites, dwarves and elves. I believe elves have probably tun info our vein
This seems like something that would be on BBC news on April 1st
My buddy lost his wife to an elf
Wtf
Is the Icelandic “belief” in elves really any different to any other religious belief? Is it actually any different to christian people’s belief in “god”? Certainly Icelandic elves seem a much kinder, more ethical entity than the christian deities.
Good
Will the nature loving people of Iceland END the BARBARIC and INHUMANE slaughter of whales and dolphins - the most intelligent and helpful elementals on the planet?
Eurovision movie?
I will try to find elves I can imagine how is ir
If the elves are invisible how do I prevent from stepping on them?
Step lightly
Yeah just have a good vibe and be gentle with nature youll be fine. If you want to you can offer a bit of butter or honey or gold or something, put in a place that feels sacred in nature
They are invisible for u but u arent invisible for them
They will run themself XD
huldufólk - hidden people
Sounds so much like Jinn that Muslims believe in. Jinn literally means hidden beings in Arabic.
Not all Jinn are bad. Evil jinn are demons, but good jinn are not demonic spirits but good spirits that have chose to worship God instead of following Satan.
Even today in india there are hundreds of saints who are living in caves in himalaya mountains since hundreds of years .they are not visible to others. They will be doing penances.
Who is here? after watching The Hobbit.
Last night I took 6 grams of mushrooms and it was amazing until the 5th hour where elves were communicating with me and called over this putrid mycelium spider that replicates, duplicates and simulated you to add you to a universal web. It was terrifying for some reason, because it felt like in reality I was im in a cube that changes shape and is feeding me a fake reality lol.
Wasn’t the first time I took mushroom at high dose but this was the first time it encounters the all great elf’s that spread love and they through me down a pit for what felt like 10000 years lol it got pretty spooky
I bet mushrooms put you on there level, or “plain”
I’d love try take mush and wonder around the fields of Iceland
Probably be some cool stuff
@@glenzo1212 liberty cap(psilocybe semilanceata) mushrooms grow in abundance in iceland
I believe in the alfar. But even if the don't exist it is still a great story/ way to get people to love and respect nature by saying this area is inhabited by elves so please respect this natural space which is their home. I think the people that say the fae elves, fairies, gnomes, dwarves, and trolls, ect. Are out of tune spend enough time in nature without destruction and I'm sure they will know these stories to be true
Where can I contact an Icelandic sort of sorcerer who can help me communicate with elves?
And witch and a mermaid
Around elves, watch yourselves.
Why?
so thats why thers no crime in iceland
It could bê The souls of gigis?
Who's here after Momo featured on Anjelah??
Loky💜!
who is here? after watching impulsive clip
I pray to elves give me good fortune
Anyone else here cos their geography teacher forced them to watch this?
Maybe no but I wanna to met ur teacher!
If they do exist I will be try to find out them.
Yup something about that is real and that isn't real
Better than belive in Ala
Logan Paul brought me here
I’m human and we have a thing called GOD...apparently it’s real
Elves go way back before your abrahamic desert god. Animism and belief in spirits came with our indo-european forefathers. Same with polytheism and all the old native European faiths
Elves are mentioned in the Bible 😭😤😂
@@DayDay-hw1sn demons are mentioned in the Bible many times (fallen angels)elves are demonic, see my comment!
Sounds a little far-fetched 😂
Where is your proof? In fact I think the state of the world right now is proof that He does not exist.
I do believe in ELVES.and I saw one of them before.A beautiful creature covered with diamonds. Eye like a shining like a sun.White grey hair with Diamond crown of her center forehead. She is high ranking elves i know. I saw lot of creature living in other dimension. And I BELIEVE they exist. Before Gods. Message me, and i will tell you. Without telling inventing lies what I saw.
@@HouseOfTheBlackDragon thank you for that sir. It's hard to tell somebody to believe it if they don't see it.
@@fedeximo2973 Hey I believe you. What country are you from? In Mexico and South America some of us believe in "Duendes" which is similar to elves
I'd LOVE to hear your story.
The "huldufólk" are just as plausible as the God that Christians believe in. To the credit of those that believe in huldufólk, they never formed an entire religion around something that has never been seen.
