Basically the jist, but you wanna make sure to slightly pull back the edges of the old hole with your hand before removing the cup and give it a good tap with the rod before it’s out to knock down any soil that might spill onto the green
Quick question… I use the fall line to read greens and I’m curious… do you try and cut the hole so the flag stands perfectly vertical (regardless of slope) or perpendicular to the slope?
@@ronalvey103 another thing, I started in the business while in high school during the summer, in the mid 70s, after HS went in the army for 3 years, then went to NC State majoring in Turfgrass Mgt. I go back to the days of mowing fairways with a Jacobson F-10, which then, you couldn't stripe fairways!!
After watching the vid several times I can't see where the greens keeper is grinding at all. No difference than a golfer walking around the hole. I thought he did a pretty good job. My only concern is to be sure to pull straight up when pulling the cut soil and make sure that the surrounding soil is flush as it was before the cut.

thank you ron, twas very helpful and i loved every second! :)
I appreciate you watching!!
Very cool! This was a great video
Thank you for watching.
Dang. I kinda want this as a job now. Looks nice and peaceful.
Not very peaceful (and safe lul) if youre doing this during the game
@@AluminumxD well yeah but I would hope you wouldn’t do it during the game.
@@dalkra99 I do :)
Nothing worse than when the dew sweepers are on your ass, by the 2nd hole!!
Yes it is peaceful. And it's the first job of the day for me. So it's before the golfers
Great video, always wondered how this was done
It didn’t look very straight when you was cutting the hole
Or was that just the angle of the ground messing with me?

You def want to cut the cup so the flag is straight not perpendicular to the slope.
@@HAWKsPOINTE-PRODUCTIONS Thank you!
He really shouldn't pull his cart up to the collar!!
It is alright. They cut the greens with mowers.
@@ronalvey103 what's that got to do with the collars??
And he's twisting the cutter from the beginning, and check out the heels of his shoes, grinding into the turf.. a definite NONO!!
You sound like a guy that has never done this before, with no "real world" experience, yet trying to tell the world how to do it.
@@ronalvey103 35 years of experience, assistant superintendent at 3 clubs!! Is that enough?????

did you use a backhoe from off the green to drive the cutter... lol.

What a slop job. Didn't care about the lip edge around anything put the new one in at an angle no pride in their craftsmanship really sad
Thank you for watching. Please leave a link to the video you posted on how to change a golf hole.
@@ronalvey103 well I did watch videos by professionals and yours is a far cry from it
