I played with him once long ago in Zoetermeer. 😎. I played with a lot of other DJ's also but he came early and stayed longer. Talked about the tracks we played, absolutely really friendly guy and not arrogant at all! He's still here playing, im not. But the flashback stays in my mind.
I do so agree and if there is one thing I would like every aspiring musician/producer to know it is this: So you have an idea, a hook a riff a certain sound basically anything you record that idea, it doesn't matter how you accomplish that either . So now you start building a song structure around that and all goes well right? Now here comes the biggest f@&k up which is a trap I fell into way too often. Something sounds 'off' in the arrangement or mix and you end up editing and fiddling with the one idea your whole song is based upon and all of a sudden everything falls apart. The energy is gone, the track sounds lame or weak and not interesting anymore. So. Please take this to heart, there is a ghost living in your idea, grab that moment, record it and don't let go. Whatever you do afterwards, leave your original idea alone. My 2 cents, thanks.
This man know his stuff, cool personality. Love watching these studio videoes where we get to see the juicy setup of all the synths, midi keyboards, and what not :)
I personally think the Steve touch in techno and in other genres with his aliases is just amazing, it’s different from anyone else and it’s recognizable istantly,my favorite musician and techno artist 🙏❤️
Im 21, more but have always been into electronic music, and I have found the opinion of this man very interesting and have agreed with him a lot, especially about the “think too much” aspect. Thank you guys for the interview!
Comon... only 7.33 min.. this legend has so much more to say and teach !!! Give him at least 1hr time !! In 1995 ( on a kozmozz - bootparty- Gent Belguim- dj kozz) i discoverd -publiq space ( aka steve rachmad) menuditis ... check it !! Have this on vinyl and still play it...
I remember back in 1995 buying a Sterac EP on 100% pure "Darkness in my life" was an awesome track, great to see/hear the man in the flesh still alive and well making music.
Legendary producer. Been listening to and loving his tracks from the beginning. Steve was never afraid of chords and layered synths giving his tracks a gorgeous, rich, full sound. As for his amazing studio, "Equipment Chasing" indeed!
Respec! Dear Steve, you are one of my all time favorite producers... I started collecting your records back in the day and got most of your early releases... Thank you.
I love his approach and his workflow- Just the smooth way i also love doing things!! Too many seem so far up their own a+++es nowadays, but that really clicks what he xplains.
Love hearing all that sound advise , I also tried going into the box , and ended up coming back out ,and the old analog gear I have , even though it’s not got the modulation and choice of filters and waveshsapes ,it just sounds so right all the time . I found with plugins I always needed to add more and more layers ,with hardwear it’s sounds so good you you don’t need too. Just some nice effects and leave the rest to the arrangement ..depends what you like really , I do love so much music that is made well just inside the box . But it just doesn’t seem as fun , sat in a chair fixed at one position ,staring at a screen .
Truth. A complicated workflow messes with emotion which is the key, everything. I also have a Boss SE70, used only if the synths onboard effects arent good enough. Digital gear has effects which I program into the patches but the SE70 is useful for analog gear to add beefy chorus. Simple and effective. Ensoniq synths have even more incredible effects though, but the studio is like a work of art, there is no one right answer but myriad combinations and ultimately you decide what is right.
Al zo lang uiterst zuinig op z'n sound. Altijd de ziel bewarend in techno. Ook het oude werk staat nog steeds everfresh als een huis. Vaandeldrager. Absoluut.
Sterac looks a lot like Rodney Bishop who was the mc half of the early 90's Dance Music duo Capella lol I agree with him 100% when it comes to the character of the old synths. It's something that can't really be explained.

“Don’t apply rules too much” such a simple philosophy to end with
That is why the early house/techno is so magical. Nowadays it all about copying styles from a 'hit' track, creating genres..
Old ways are the best.
An ask the producer episode with Him would be so cool!
No...i disagree. The last thing he wants is someone MASTERING his sh* t
Steve is a legend. So many great productions under different names.
@Alfie Ignacio - Virton
@Alfie Scorp - Energetix
Parallel 9 - ventris
Great Tech Talk Steve, loved it. Thank you.
Basically, my favourite producer... and a good buddy also. Rock on Steve. Respect.

Secret Life of Machines is one of my favorite techno albums still. It has so much of that high tech soul feeling that I crave from techno!

Ты на верном пути!
Love the focus of this one. Emotion is king.

One of the great Dutch electronic musicians

such a cosy looking space to work!
That studio is just gorgeous. If I had infinite cash and knowledge, I think my studio would look 100% like this.
Respec! Dear Steve, you are one of my all time favorite producers... I started collecting your records back in the day and got most of your early releases... Thank you.
I love Steve Rachmad, saw him at Movement in Detroit in 2017 and he was incredible, seems like such a nice guy too x

Geez what a droolworthy collection of gear. So envious of that Matrix programmer, wish i had one back in the day.
I love his approach and his workflow- Just the smooth way i also love doing things!! Too many seem so far up their own a+++es nowadays, but that really clicks what he xplains.

Amazing! Thank you
This is great, for me one of the best to do it. Most the people on these EB video's cant touch the quality of Steve.

What a nice bloke.
Brilliant, I love his approach.
Genius.
Cool!
YES! STERAC!
STEVE
Nice one !
Sterac looks a lot like Rodney Bishop who was the mc half of the early 90's Dance Music duo Capella lol
I agree with him 100% when it comes to the character of the old synths. It's something that can't really be explained.
Grandioso episodio, grande Mr. Steve, yessir!
what is the brand of rack frame and sliding shelf he is using?
Miss these tech talk episodes
New one coming soon
@@ElectronicBeatsTV Great news! Looking forward to it :)
The last track that plays out (Hope & Optimism) is gorgeous. Does anyone know if that has had a vinyl release?
looks like a very nice studio setup :-)
Legend
very good
Digging the Star Wars vibes
Nice to see some DiY Synths in his studio... 4:59 Hit me up Steve if you need some knobs for your Extra9 ;)
Sticking with the first mix.. I think that's a real good advice.
Could you put the track names somewhere?
All tracks are from his latest album „The Beauty And The Sea“
@@ElectronicBeatsTV thanks
Are you the producer?
@@ElectronicBeatsTV You guys should link it in the description. Opportunity to support Steve's work
