tbh, i prefer your videos to the bigger RUclipsrs because you have a real passion for simulators. You're not just playing the latest game because it was given to you to promote it.
I do remember them chatting in an interview (which to my dismay I can't seem to find again, or I have, but I skipped past the part where they mention it) they're considering a wider mount, with room, or a half width mount, that you can use for just the quadrant, OR add to the side of the standard mount, to give room for half a quadrant and one side peripheral (while mounting the other peripheral, quadrant and a half on the standard mount). As an engineer, I'd say they may end up making a split mount; with two pieces 1/4 the width of the standard, with a pair of bars underneath to allow you to use the screws for holding down the quadrant to hold the halves together, OR to hold the the halves to either side of the standard mount, with room for one of the side peripherals on each "half" or "part" of the mount(s) (which ever way you want to think of it)

My t16000m has served me very well for many many years. Unlike all potentio stuff I had before. I pre ordered the honeycomb throttle as it can be configured for jets but also prop which I like the most. Yeah and I also bought a more expensive stick, god knows how long I will have wait for the throttle but the vkb will likely arrive a week after mfs2020 release. And the t16k will serve me well even after it becomes a lefthanded 2nd stick. Such a great stick for little money. And mfg crosswinds make my set complete
Absolutely love my Thrustmaster T.1600 joystick. It is already a passable Airbus sidestick, but this range is next level. Loving the fuel switches on the throttle unit. Great video!
Great vid. Many of the other youtubers does not cover the upcoming throttle as you do, thanks for including that. I will definitely watch your review when it comes out. This system looks really interesting, can't wait!
Me 2! It was always a kind of gambling to find the right spots on linear throttle quadrants. And when you finally found the CLB position after T.O., you were already 2000 ft higher and 40 kts faster than you should be. ;)
I've got a Thrustmaster Warthog, which naturally I use for DCS. However, since MSFS2020 came out I've been completely converted. I honestly thought I'd be getting bored, just flying around without all of the "interesting" things to do. GCI intercepts, CAS, precision strikes etc. I love that side of it, but as a core sim DCS is woefully outdated now with the enigne really creaking at the seems with Eagle Dynamics dropping the ball big time on developing the things that matter. FS2020 has the best feeling of flight I've ever expereinced in a simulator. The fact the sidestick has the same HALL sensor as the Warthog, while offering a cool desk mounted throttle assembly is really nice. I've been wanting to get desk mounts for the Warthog for a long time but they're so utterly ridiculously priced puts me off. Seeing a full package like this from Thrustmaster is honestly very tempting. Will wait and see what the reviews are like, before I potentially take the plunge.
Thank you for this great pre-order review. Looking forward for your review when you'll recieve it. Don't give up, I'm sure you'll be a great youtuber ;)
if you use vr, the best one is a hotas with lots of buttons in the throttle (or joystick), so you can push buttons without moving your hands off the controls
I wonder if you can use the throttle for StarCitizen Im using T1600 stick and wanted a throttle for my right hand and it looks like it would fit the bill for a lefty. Thank you for sharing
I have Potentiometer problems in all four thrustmaster products i have. Cheap components break easy in 2 or 3 months of moderate use. I will go with other brand in the next Hotas, throttle and pedals.
Nice! I have two questions: 1) I was wondering how to use the ign start knob on the throttle quadrant to start each engine on other aircrafts, apart from Airbus. For example, Boeing has different ignition knobs, one for each engine...how to deal with each single knob in the cockpit? 2) I've seen that at the base of the throttle quadrant there's a switch for eng "1&2" or "3&4". Does it mean that it could be used to control 4 engines, maybe for startup, or is it just to indicate the group of engines managed in a four-engine configuration? Many thanks
When you have this installed you can configure anything to do (within reason) anything. So if you buy two of these, you can set one for 1/2 and the second for engines 3/4.
@@SimUKReviews Thanks for the promp answer; do you think there's a way to make one lever control 2 engines in case I wanted to buy 1 throttle quadrant and use it with a four-engine aircraft?
As someone who has used TARGET with a Thrustmaster Warthog for several years, there is one very important thing to be aware of. As long as you are merging controllers into a single recognized device, you are actually putting a hard cap on the available functionality of your controller. Due to directx-based limits, any single game controller is limited to 8 analog axes, and 32 individual button functions (not including keyboard emulated functions, so you can get around this limit fairly easily if you don't mind just having buttons report as keybinds). This stick and throttle combo looks like it's going to give you 40 button functions (24 on the stick, 16 you mention on the throttle), and 6 control axes (pitch, roll, twist, throttle slider on the stick, and two main throttles on the quadrant). If you get rudder pedals with toe brakes, that's another 3 control axes, so TARGET would force you to disable one of them (most likely the stick twist). That would put you at the cap of 8 axes, so that's going to be a problem if the later additions of the flap and brake levers use more control axes, or if you want to attach more throttles for a four-engined setup. Most newer flight sims I have used are perfectly capable of recognizing multiple control devices, and individually configuring them, so I think the usefulness of TARGET is dwindling. In fact, some game controller software does the opposite, breaking single devices into multiple virtual devices, just so you can get around the 32 button/8 axis limit.
@@SimUKReviews Hope it can be of help, and I think TARGET might still have some use, but knowing the limits will be important. I think where it will be useful for these new peripherals is maybe grouping all of the components of the throttle column together. As long as you stay under those legacy directx limits, it'll work fine, and it will help to manage all of those throttle axes.
Good sir, May I know if the quadrant would be good for Fighter type games? I can probably only go for either this or the 16000 but I very much like to play FS with this as well. Would like to know if it be possible to use this for example Squadrons? thanks.
3:15 - "Im a tiny RUclipsr and hardly get any views" - And somehow you have more views than the Froogle video where he actually had the product on his desk!! :P
They've just released since great sim racing pedals, latest tech, but not at a rediculas price. Some people complain it's not metal, but my banks balance likes it. Kudos Thrustmaster. I'll be buying your flight sim stuff too 👍
Indeed...im considering ordering two officer kit so my daughter and i can fly in the same cockpit (plus 4 thrust levers for my A380 in FSX)....the price is so good.
Number 1 detail practiced in real sims is engine failure, for that we need rudders (which might be a long way off yet) but just as important is the rudder trim switch. That would be THE most welcomed bolt on! We can program FSLabs A320 using FSUIPC
@@SimUKReviews I really only use the stick for takeoffs and landings. Everything in route is just adjustments to the AP or playing with the PFD/MFD. For all the camera views I'll still use a controller. What I'm really looking forward to is the throttle. With the spool lag on turbo props, working the throttle using a controller is a nightmare. 🤣
I’m very pleased to see this kit. I’m more than happy with the Thrustmaster stuff that I’ve already got, so I’ll definitely be getting the throttle quadrant, assuming that your review of it turns out to be positive. I’ve had the T16000 for a few years now, so I don’t think it’s worth buying the almost identical Airbus branded version.
I really like this throttle but I would rather the bravo throttle cause it comes with four throttles and you can change it into a Boeing or Airbus with various add ons also comes with gear and flaps
Honeycomb’s quadrant definitely looks more appealing, I guess it depends on the reviews. The only negatives for Honeycomb so far are the lack of physical detents on the flaps axis, and the overall bulk of the unit.
Good video and this hardware looks very good. Only sad thing is that there is no good Long Haul Airbus for X Plane. Yes, there is FF A350 and Jar A330 but they are not good
Second that. It's really a pity, after so long time aand so many updates the JD A330 is still not working as it should. I really wish, that ToLiss will do the step and fill that gap.
Nii P. Yes, Toliss is what I‘m hoping for too. I mean they did a great job on the A321 and it looks like they also did on the A319 which I‘ll buy in the next days. It‘s not study level maybe which I would always prefer but they‘re still good enough. And the Jar A330, I heard the sound and I said alright, fuck it. I‘m usually not that type of guy to set highest priority on the sound but that A330 sounds like an electronic shaver
Yes, it can be split to work however you like, so 1 throttle for throttle and the other for fuel regulation (basically however you like) but if you do t want to fly A320s you could just get away with the sidestick on its own. I have a full review coming this week, maybe give it a watch?
@@SimUKReviews Aye, A bit too many levers on that one for me personally. My setup is a pretty messed up frankenstien of Racing, Mech and Space sim rather than flight sim. My ideal southpaw setup would be something like a Saitek/Logitech x52 or Hori Ace Combat made for a lefty (love those ergonomic grips with lots of controls available without having to take your hand off). But I think for now, I'll get these when I can.
@@SimUKReviews I didn't know that actually. Thanks for the info, But I still think I'd rather get one of these Thrustmaster TCA setups. I just hope someone eventually makes a propper southpaw hotas with a nice throttle with controls on the throttles grip. Surprised Virpil hasn't tbh, they make lefty and ambidextrous grips after all.
If you watch the last guy in this video; you will see he is using a throttle with his left hand...I think I know what it is, but maybe just ask him. He seems to answer almost every considerate question. ruclips.net/video/aPeBBJEFVtg/видео.html
love the vid well done have the same pre ordered but can you help me i cant get flight sim 2020 working say i need more space but i have del loads of stuff still not working do you have any tips ?
Hi Shane, you can change the default download location, although I think some preloaded elements do need to be initially downloaded to your C drive. Make sure you also empty your recycle bin.
same the website i ordered from says sept 24th but it first come first serve. they aren't limiting orders. However they don't charge you until they ship. which is nice so essentially you reserve your place in line if you don't get the first shipment
History would suggest that what we really need is a trim wheel. Missed opportunity for sure. Let's just hope MSFS 2020 trim doesn't suck as a bad as usual.
yep most popular ones are sold out everywhere here in Finland. Only really expensive ones and cheapest 20-30 euro ones are easier to find. I pre ordered officer pack but i i fear i am not going to be in the first wave who gets it as i ordered it today.
Until now you are only able to buy the throttle quadrant (Release date 24.09.2020). Thrustmaster confirmed that there will be an addon called " TCA Quadrant Add-On Airbus Edition" where they give you the flap and speedbreak extention shown in the video. A release date for the Add-On is still unkown. Maybe later this year.
A few days ago bought this stick/quadrant combo on pre-order. Microsoft Flight Simulator - Premium Deluxe Edition (yeah I know, I could get the extra content cheaper on DLC if I just held on a bit) also on pre-order. CAN'T WAIT! Did flight simulation quite a lot in years gone by. MFS was always my cornerstone sim, though, and got a little put off when Microsoft seemingly killed off the series.
Unfortunately I can't pre-order it anywhere in the US now. But damn that looks awesome. I haven't flight simmed in a lot of years and I kinda want to get back into it now and I just don't think this Logitech Extreme 3D joystick is going to cut it in the long run
not sure if you're willing to pay the extra shipping, but you can pre-order it on amazon.de and have it shipped to the US. Plus, you'll get a cheaper price because you don't have to pay VAT.
The sidestick would be perfect for beginners. The throttle is a little more bespoke, there are more generic throttle options, but the price increases with it.
It's a T16000M (almost exactly) with blue colours, but the blue is the wrong shade for an Airbus. They've separated the throttle quadrant and brakes/flaps so eventually you are going to pay for three combined and expensive separate items which don't make it quite the "bargain" described. The sensor is exactly the same as the T16000M, so expect that to sell for a lower price shortly, although TM appears to be deliberately witholding stock of the T16000 to attract advanced orders for this one. It's PR and marketing folks.
Hi Sim UK, Great video I too am looking forward to the Thrustmaster system coming out, I have had so many flight controllers it's rediculous . Lets hope these are built to a higher standard. I have subscribed and liked so you have a new member, Cheers Mike
Absolutely....Are there BETTER options out there? Yes of course, but for the price this will work very well; you will of course prefer a different/better throttle eventually....with more buttons on it.
Thanks for the video. I fly FF's A320 with a CH Fighterstick and throttle quadrant. This strikes me slightly as an answer to a problem that didn't exist. The A320 is fly-by-wire and my fighterstick is good enough from what I can see. The throttle quadrant is interesting (and I do like the idea of the detents and the thrust reverser). But I'm not sure that the engine switches will add much, and its weird that the flap and speed brake levers are in the wrong place. Regarding combining all devices into one big device, CH Products control panel does that as well (I used to use their pedals as well before moving to MFG ones) and it always seemed more trouble than it was worth to me. Thrustmaster may implement it better though. It is quite neat that the stick has a twist axis that could be assigned to the tiller, and also nice that you can lock that axis if you want. (The Fighterstick doesn't have that axis). Thanks.
You are right, but it would need a complete and huge pedestal to but everything in the right place. BUT: You don't HAVE TO join spdbrake and flaps to the throttle devices, you are free to put the spdbrakes and flaps at their "right" position, if you have the space for it. Only the gear lever is really way off from it's actual position. I'm using an old quadrant only for this ldg gear lever at a more accurate position, but this is kinda personally luxury, as you'll use it only 2 times and about 0,5 seconds on a whole flight. Anyway, all this tiny bits are exactly what makes a simulation a simulation! ;)
I live in the US but I dont think I can pre order because its from the FR Amazon when I try to add it to my cart then goto the US amazon its not there? the US page of the same says its not in stock???? do you have a link so I can order it?
They're all sold out like SimUK said, but for us over here you could have bought it through the Microsoft Store crazily enough. As silly as it seems just open your microsoft store app on windows 10 and in the searchbar type thrustmaster airbus and you will get 3 results. 1 for the Officer pack. 1 for the Throttle Quad. And 1 for just the Stick itself
@@JAllyFarms Yeah. But if you look man. Basically any kind of halfway decent flight sim stuff is sold out everywhere right now. And if you do want something you pretty much have to go to ebay and pay through the nose right now. FS2020 really took the world by storm and caused a major surge in demand for flight simming equipment. Frankly you'd think these peripheral retailers/manufacturers would have thought to try to beef up their supply a little bit ahead of the rush order. Bad year to be in the market for anything new pretty much. New graphics cards are gonna be a bitch to get. New flight sim equipment is a bitch to get. What's next? Toothpaste?
It would be ever so nice if Thrustmaster produced "expansion plates" for the TM Flying Clamp that would easily provide the width for 2 quadrants with the expansion pack. Really, they should have offered that since day 1. That way you wouldn't have to buy another bracket.
Sim UK Thanks. I will preorder the throttle and buy the side stick from Amazon, Is the airbus side stick gonna work for the mfs2020 even if I don’t have the throttle?
Sim UK Thank You for replying to these questions. I’m sorry if I keep on asking you questions, I have one and the last question. If I buy Logitech throttle is it gonna work with the airbus sidestick? I'm asking because the airbus throttle gonna come late in September if I preorder it and I’m so excited for the new sim that’s why I was asking and again Thank You
2:37 that's wrong, on the back side of the throttle quadrant there is a switch: 1&2 or 3&4. this is about how many engines you want one throttle stick to control
I have the T16000M. It’s the same damn stick. The price point will tell you about the quality. I also have the Thrustmaster throttle which is worth every penny. Don’t get me wrong I hope it’s amazing. You get what you pay for.

I got the Airbus throttle quadrant and thrustmaster rudder pedals. and the rudder dont work for some reason. Any idea why?
98K views! These guys (Thrustmaster) should be sending you test samples. EDIT: I see in a later video, Thrustmaster did exactly that. Gratz!
Thank you Mike...will they send me the Throttle for review?...?...?...? prob not 😆
Could you combine two together to make an A340/89 style quadrant?
Yes 100%
I‘m usually not that type of guy to set highest priority on the sound but that A330 sounds like an electronic shaver
forgive my ignorance, does the throttle quadrant work with single engine planes?
Yes, it can be split to work however you like, so 1 throttle for throttle and the other for fuel regulation (basically however you like) but if you do t want to fly A320s you could just get away with the sidestick on its own.
I have a full review coming this week, maybe give it a watch?
Sim UK thanks very much!
even if its a airbus style will it still work for other planes that arent airbuses
Looks like this will be good for people who have been looking for a left hand/southpaw setup.
Perfect for that, also consider the Honeycomb B throttle quadrant; very adaptable!
But I think for now, I'll get these when I can.
np. Just to be sure, those levers can be removed entirely ;-) Just in case you didn't know.
He seems to answer almost every considerate question.

love the vid well done have the same pre ordered but can you help me i cant get flight sim 2020 working say i need more space but i have del loads of stuff still not working do you have any tips ?
Hi Shane, you can change the default download location, although I think some preloaded elements do need to be initially downloaded to your C drive.
Make sure you also empty your recycle bin.
@@SimUKReviews thanks ill give a try
Love the locking feature! I suppose the throttle on stick is for new starters who don't buy the throttle quadrant and just the joy stick
2:37 You can fix that by screwing on some L brackets ond the the desk mount and then bolt the extra controls on them.
Just ordered officer pack. Lets see when i get it 190 euros not bad price considering it haves H.E.A.R.T And solid looking throttle.
same the website i ordered from says sept 24th but it first come first serve. they aren't limiting orders. However they don't charge you until they ship. which is nice so essentially you reserve your place in line if you don't get the first shipment
@@krisstrong5936
Same thing here.
Thrustmaster did announce that they have shipping delays and shipping will start around october thought. :(
History would suggest that what we really need is a trim wheel. Missed opportunity for sure. Let's just hope MSFS 2020 trim doesn't suck as a bad as usual.
Absolutely
Agreed.
Are you able to use a Logitech throttle quadrant with a Thrustmaster side stick???
Yes, do it often.
Still waiting for the officer pack, ordered months ago....... Just had an email saying it MAY or MAY NOT be ready to send out mid Nov. We will see.
Good luck finding ANY controller for MSFS2020. They’re either sold out, or selling used for two or three times original cost. It’s a phenomenon.
Might find a lot of second hand stuff soon :-)
yep most popular ones are sold out everywhere here in Finland. Only really expensive ones and cheapest 20-30 euro ones are easier to find. I pre ordered officer pack but i i fear i am not going to be in the first wave who gets it as i ordered it today.
Is it just the throttle quadrant or does it have flap and speedbrake lever too as shown in some pictures?
Until now you are only able to buy the throttle quadrant (Release date 24.09.2020).
Thrustmaster confirmed that there will be an addon called " TCA Quadrant Add-On Airbus Edition" where they give you the flap and speedbreak extention shown in the video.
A release date for the Add-On is still unkown. Maybe later this year.
@@CouchPotatoHD this makes it clear. Thanks a lot.
It's Great to have them back isn't it!
I think this will be great!
Plus, you'll get a cheaper price because you don't have to pay VAT.
is it any good for beginners in your opinion ?
The sidestick would be perfect for beginners.
The throttle is a little more bespoke, there are more generic throttle options, but the price increases with it.
@@SimUKReviews is it possible to be shipped in the rest of the eu or just uk . If u already know could you send me the link?
i think i found it here is the link www.flightsimwebshop.com/en/thrustmaster-tca-officer-pack-airbus-edition.html
You Beat me to it!
Welcome :-)
Just got mine!
It's got a fantastic action yes?
@@SimUKReviews the quadrant has issues. The game does not give settings ready and impoissible to do manually.
Is this good for combat sims?
Absolutely....Are there BETTER options out there? Yes of course, but for the price this will work very well; you will of course prefer a different/better throttle eventually....with more buttons on it.
Any updates on when this will be released? It looks like January/2021 in Canada.
They only talk to me when I have huge viewing numbers, so no.
good video! it's nice to see 4 monitors but the new msfs does only support one hahahaha
I preordered it too, a couple months ago. Just got an email saying shipment is getting pushed back to end of October. 😭😥😥
Oh No! I haven't had an email....yet.
I got this email too. I ordered it 3 weeks ago from the MS Store.
@@B3owulf Got mine too :-(
It is compatible with P3DV4 (320x FSLabs)?
I just want to know what buttons would be best to set up as trim
Thanks.
Sorry, more negative than I meant it to be. If I had the money I'd probably buy the full set and it is quite cool.
I have a full saitek setup, I do t really need this either, but cosmetically this looks the biz.
Unfortunately all flight systems are sold out ATM.
@@ram89572 ya thank but sadly they are out of stock too but I'll keep checking
Toothpaste?
@@ram89572 shhhhh! dont say that lol now I'm gonna have to clean walmarts shelf's of toothpaste

With hub with a single usb i think they should make it compatible for xbox too.
I'd definitely buy ine if i could use it on my pc and my xbox.
Does any of the products work on Xbox one for Microsoft flight simulator 2020
Only thrustmaster t flight hitas
Are you building a dedicated pc for the new sim?
Already have a recent build:
Intel Core i7 9700K 3.6GHz Octa Core LGA1151 CPU
Viper Steel Series DDR4 32GB 3200MHz Performance Memory Kit
Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 1080 GDDR5 8GB OC WF3 PCI-E
SSD's (Multiple)
Gigabyte MB INT 1151 Z390 Designare D4 ATX
also auto throttle? will the levers move with out manually moving them?
Sadly no.
Wonder if that little slider on the sidestick can be used for the speedbrakes/spoliers, with the reverse position used to arm the spoilers
Yes, precisely designed for this purpose.
A little Question... . I it possible to sync the throttle quadrant to lets say a Cessna 172 Skyhawk?
I don't have it yet, but yes.
@@SimUKReviews Thx
It would be ever so nice if Thrustmaster produced "expansion plates" for the TM Flying Clamp that would easily provide the width for 2 quadrants with the expansion pack. Really, they should have offered that since day 1. That way you wouldn't have to buy another bracket.
Yes, I quite agree.
Should I preorder this or buy Logitech flight yoke system?
I had the original flight yoke from Saitek/logitech....the TCS is miles better.
Sim UK Thanks. I will preorder the throttle and buy the side stick from Amazon, Is the airbus side stick gonna work for the mfs2020 even if I don’t have the throttle?
Yes, been flying all manner of things just with this sidestick, np.
Sim UK Thank You for replying to these questions. I’m sorry if I keep on asking you questions, I have one and the last question. If I buy Logitech throttle is it gonna work with the airbus sidestick? I'm asking because the airbus throttle gonna come late in September if I preorder it and I’m so excited for the new sim that’s why I was asking and again Thank You
Yes it definitely will work.
Cost me $180 just for the joystick as could not find the Pack anywhere? Hopefully I can get the throttles at another time.
BLIMEY!
Can you engage reverse thrust with that one ?
EDIT: nevermind you said it in the Video :)
Will this work with aerosoft?
